  1. Why does Jagex think that running around looking for something is fun? Much too much time is spent looking for the desired level to mine or hunt or whatever. That is fun? This mini-game is just lame beyond words. I feel like I am wasting most of my time just looking. If they want a mini-game that makes just a shred of sense, they need to give both sides the same access to resources, and the resources need to stay put from game to game. It has to be laid out in such a way as to allow a player to have a strategy that does not involve spending half his time trying to find things. I dont understand how their internal staff can play some of the mini-games they develop and recommend they be released. Why cant they see these problems before-hand. Or does just running all over the map searching out resources define what the Jagex staff considers to be a good time? And for all this you get rewards that are just as lame. If this is going to be a game for skillers, it needs to have some rewards for skillers that make it worth doing. This mini-game is a farce, and eventually everyone, but Jagex, will see that.
  2. It has just be released, and I am already bored with it. I thought that hunter was boring, and a waste of time. But, this makes hunter exciting. The last thing I want to do is run all over the place, collecting stuff I don't care about, to level one more skill that seems to have no real purpose. :wall:
  3. What we have here are a certain number of people who think that everyone plays the game like they do. They hate the new updates, so they think everyone should hate them as well. Now, some of these people hate the new updates because they can no longer scam, cheat, RWT, steal and do whatever other kind of mischief they desire. They will keep insisting how terrible all this is, how millions of people will quit, how the game is ruined beyond salvation. They will try to enlist everyone else into their campaign to get the changes turned back. This will not work. The rest of us are not fooled, and it will start driving the miscreants crazy. They will continue to be vocal in their complaints, wondering why the vast majority of players have not risen as one, and forced a rollback by Jagex. But the simple truth is that these changes are not all that drastic for people who just want to play the game: work on their skills, have fun, do quests, hang out etc. And the fact is that the changes have actually made the game better. I wish that the game was set up this way 3 years ago when I started playing. This is much better for me, and I suspect many other players as well. As for the cheaters, scammers, RWT etc., donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t let the door hit you on the way out.
  4. Look, just because you CAN do something does not mean that you SHOULD. I could throw a rock and bust someoneÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s window without getting caught, but does that mean I SHOULD do it, or that it is RIGHT to do it? Of course not. So, just because you can kill someone in the wild while they are working a clue, and therefore ruin their chance of getting its reward doesnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t mean that it is the right thing to do. It is amazing to me that people think that going into an area where they know there is a risk means that they are asking for it. All kinds of things in real life have risks associated with them. After your dog bites the postman do you just tell him that he should not have taken the job unless he is willing to be bitten by rabid dogs? What do you tell the widow of a policeman or fireman killed in duty? ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅWell, they knew the risk so I donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t feel sorry for them at all. If they were not willing to be killed on the job they should have been an actuary.ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  5. You know, when you are all dressed out in armor and weapons, food and pots, and you go into the wild looking for someone who is not all decked out, maybe just someone working a clue, and then you use this decisive advantage to kill them and ruin any possibility of getting them obtaining their clue reward, what do you call such a person other than a coward? It is very very sad to see people defending this kind of behavior, when someone does not have any intention in a fair fight, only a fight where the odds are so in their favor that a win is almost guaranteed. And all to do what? Spoil someoneÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s search for a clue reward? Spoil the mining of runite? Spoil agility training on the wildness course? What do you call someone who gets trills from just spoiling the fun of others? Maybe you are right; cowards everywhere are ashamed to have their label associated with the likes of these.
  6. Anyone who sets foot in the Wilderness to do harm to someone who is not prepared to fight back is barbaric and a coward. Now, I know that cowards hate to be called cowards, but it is true. They just want other people at their advantage, they do not want to fight on fair terms. I know that it hurts to be called out on this, but grow up.
  7. PK'ers don't get respect because they do not deserve it. They are a bunch of cowards who wanted an unfair advantage over other players; people who were just working a clue or something. These changes now make them fight other people who are prepared to fight back; and they are crying and whining about it. I feel no sorry for the PK'ers, I am glad that their little self-satisified game was taken from them. Watch them cry, baby, watch them cry. :boohoo:
  8. Rares gone? We should be so lucky. Rares in one way or another are the cause of most of the cheats, scams, bots, RWT etc., that have been a hinderance to the honest players of this game. If they are ever gone for good, it will not be one day too soon. The good news is that they will slowly die out. As it is now, very few players even give a rat's behind about the rares. As the people who "remember" rares leave the game, and new people come in, rares will eventually be completely forgotten. May that day hurry.
  9. And what was really funny was that it was the cheaters, scammers, RWT, gold farmers and bots that were the most vocal opponents of the changes, but their main complaint was that the changes were ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ get this ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ unfair. It was not fair that they could no longer scam and cheat and RWT. And they climbed up on that high horse and demanded equity when they were the very worst aspects of the game. The rest of us are better off without them, and deep down inside, everyone knows that.
  10. I thought the whole thing was a hoot! People crying and whining and acting like they were two years old. It was great. Oh, and the updates were the best ever.
  11. Boy, we have a lot of naive people here. I know that some people inadvertently arrive at names that are considered offensive by others. But get real folks; most of these people knew exactly what they were doing. They are trying to get by with something and think that it is cute. In other words, they were willing to take the risk; and some of them got caught. Some of you think these are all just a bunch of innocents, but that is just either your ignorance or naivet̮̩̉̉. Or, maybe you yourself were previously banned for breaking rules and just want to support all other miscreants. Nothing brings out the crying rags like someone suffering the consequences of breaking the rules.
  12. Amid all the crying, let us be reminded that actions have consequences. I guess some of you want a game where one can do as he pleases, yet not have to suffer the consequences. When someone selects an offensive name, such as the one in question, they must understand that it may result in untoward results; just like if someone wore a t-shirt with an offensive word or phrase to school. If you are going to do the crime, you must be willing to do the time. So quit all the crying and whining for someone who knew exactly what they were doing when they selected their name. :boohoo:
  13. Hey, having people quit because of these changes is NOT a con, it is a pro. These little spoiled crybabies are not wanted or needed anyway. So, let them quit. And let them quit soon so we don't have to hear about it for weeks upon weeks.
  14. For everyone threatening to quit over the new updates, GO already, leave, beat it. The rest of us are glad to see you gone. Just donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t make your exit slow, we donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t want to hear over and over again, ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅI am going to quit if I donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t get my way. I will take my ball and go home. I mean it. I am really going to do it. You just watch me. Here I go now.ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  15. The only ones who hate the change in the wilderness are the cowards who tried to get an unfair advantage of others; those working clues, mining etc. So, it is fun seeing the cowards crying little little children. Now, they have to fight people who are prepared to fight back. Justice.
  16. I just realized how great these updates really are. The types of people who will quit because of them are exactly the types of people I want to quit. Bravo!
  17. Let all the babies cry about the changes. They are great for the game and will allow it to last much longer. Just without the crybabies.
  18. Best update was recent change in duel arena. Long overdue.
  19. People cool down. They will not disallow direct trading, but they will limit it. For instance, they can force any trades where there is a sufficiently large discrepancy between the value of what is being bought and what is being sold to be done on the grand exchange. Maybe any trade where the difference between buying and selling value is more than 10K, or 5% of the value of the cheapest item will not be allowed to be done directly. That will make it almost impossible for the real world traders to directly make delivery. Clearly Jagex is attacking real world trading by limiting the ability to make delivery in ways that are not easily detected. It seems that they have decided that there is no other way to stop it, and it also seems that they are willing to do almost anything to achieve success. This is, of course, a good thing. The fact that there are whiners out there who are screaming as loudly as they can does not make this a bad update, or fail to make JagexÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s ultimate goals laudable.
  20. People hate real world trading because it encourages gold miners to hog the best spots, and it allows people to buy game stuff with real dollars, distorting their accomplishments. Is that so hard to understand? Geeeeeee. And if anyone thinks that there are an almost infinite number of ways to do real world trading, they are delusional. I can think of these ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ 1) Staking 2) Player to player trading 3) Drop trading 4) Wilderness There may be more, but I only got to four out of infinity before I gave out. If there were an infinite number, I should have gotten a few more donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t you think? ( I am not addressing this reply to any one person because I would be tempted to tell them how childish, illogical and self-serving their silly arguments were. ) It is not a question of getting rid of large parts of the game to stop the gold miners. It is a question of getting rid of, or more correctly, changing, small parts of the game to stop the gold miners. With just a few more adjustments, real world trading will become very difficult, and increasingly easy to detect. Some of us are very fiercely holding on to the idea that ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åthis is my game and it must continue the way I want it to,ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  21. One thing that Runescape will NOT run out of is crybabies. Jagex looks at this game as a business, and they want to create as good a game as possible for everyone, not just the few whose entire game experience revolves around staking. So they lose a few fanatic stakers, what they are looking at are the hundreds of thousands of people who will start playing in the future. They know that people will only play this game for a period of time, and move on. So it is just plain stupid to avoid making improvements just because some of the current players, many of whom will not even be here in 2 years, donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like it. The people who whine because some change is not to their liking need to just grow up a little bit. It is impossible to make any change to anything of substance that does not inconvenience someone. The whiners will learn this when they actually get, you know, a real job, and learn it is not possible to satisfy everyone. :shame:
  22. Two great changes in a short period of time. The frontal attack on real life traders will slow down the gold farmers until the final, awful blow is delivered. And now a new skill, summoning, which everyone said would not appear, or if so, as a part of magic. Do these two changes not show how out of step so many of the players are with this game? Most of you donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have a clue to what is going on. You think you do, but you are looking at this as a game. Jagex looks at it as a business.
  23. The next riot will be caused when Jagex takes the next logical step. It will force all person to person exchanges that exceed either a set gp amount or percentage of price to be taken to the grand exchange. For instance, any transactions in which the difference in value is either more than 10K or 5% of the lower amount will not be allowed unless transacted on the grand exchange. This will be a very handy way to track real life traders. Wait for it. :-k
  24. One can disagree with something in an appropriate manner, which is not what is happening with the riots and deluge of rants. If you think the change in staking does more harm than good to the game, state that. But the crying, whining and self-pity we see instead is not the appropriate way. Clearly Jagex made a carefully considered decision to injure one aspect of the game to accomplish what they considered a much greater good for the game. You may disagree. But remember, Jagex sees all the players and activity, not just your little corner of it. They are in a much better position to determine the harm done by real world trading than any of us. They are armed with information, we are not. Do you not think that they may be in a better position to weigh the benefit and harm than any of us? If you donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t, it just indicates your lack of real world experience in running any kind of operation. DoesnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t anyone else see the comedy of 12 year oldÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s who have never run any kind of operation, made a payroll or been responsible for anything other than themselves telling a successful business with millions in sales and hundreds of employees how it such run its affairs? Think about it for awhile, and you will be ROFLYAO like I am.
