  1. All the ranting shows is the emotional immaturity of most of the players of this game. Most have never held a job or been responsible to or for someone else. They think themselves to be the center of the universe because that is the way mommy and daddy treat them. Well, grow up. This is the way the real world is. Things change, and you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t always get your way. And acting like a 2 year old who has had his toy taken away will not change that. :boohoo:
  2. This is the greatest update ever. They are really trying to clamp down on the gold farmers and real life traders. If a few stakers must have the game slightly reduced in enjoyment for them, it is worth the overall benefit to everyone else. Bravo Jagex!
  3. It is funny how people worry about money being removed from the economy. I guarantee you that we are swimming in gold. If there was not a huge excess of cash, rare prices would not be able to rise as far as they have. There will never be a shortage of cash in this game. The sell of desirable items to the stores was never a big source of supply to the market anyway. So, let the bots buy from the player stock all they want. They can sit there, waiting for five hours to buy 10 nats here, 5 nats there. Who cares? It will make no difference in the price or supply of nats in the game. The noobs will either have to make their stuff, or buy at the store price. But, they will be able to buy all they want: a huge improvement for those wanting to raise skills. Any windfall profits some merchanters enjoy will be very transitory. They sell their stock, they make their money, they are now out of stock. So what? Who cares? Any increase in the cost of global living, and it will be small, is well worth the damage done to bots, and the increased availability of things like runes, arrows and water vials.
  4. Keep it. Rares are a blight on the game, the more of them removed, the better we are. When I quit, I am going to sell all my stuff, buy rares and high alch them. Do a favor for remaining players.
  5. It is pretty clear that those who try to take advantage of others in the wilderness by attacking people who are working clues or something and not necessarily prepared to defend themselves, are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, nor are they the type of person you can trust in real life. This game reflects a person's character, and the pker's are showing their true colors when they attack someone like a miner. Also, killing unprepared players in the wild is probably the lowest form of playing the game. They are our worst players, our lowest class players and our laziest players.
  6. You mean that when you are in the wild, minding your own business, working a clue or something, but not prepared for fighting at all, there are rules on how you should defend yourself? This is just plain stupid. When someone attacks you, you can defend yourself anyway you wish without guilt. Folks, think about this for a second. They are trying to steal your stuff. Did that register? They are trying to steal your stuff. They are the bad guys just for doing that. What is it with the people playing this game that they do not realize how wrong it is to attempt to take someone̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s property, and expect them to be happy about it? Does that make sense to anyone at all? I want to get really insulting towards those who attack others in the wild, and then get uppity about their resistance. What kind of world do those people live in?
  7. I had a near death experience once They had to operate on me, and something went wrong. They said I was gone for over a minute. All I remember is this white light at the end of a tunnel. And there was music; beautiful music. And no pain. Anyway, I just started walking down this tunnel until it ended. There was this huge, and I mean HUGE waiting room, with old magazines, and whiney children. On the wall was a big sign, asking me to take a number. Just as I took my number, it was 6,369,288,027, I found myself awake and back in my body.
  8. Zaros was a good boy who got in with a bad crowd. It was those evil Howard boys I tell you. I never wanted them around. I told my husband Hank, ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅHank, I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t want those Howard boys around.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  9. Let me tell you, archeology as a skill has a lot more going for it than some of our current skills. Woodcutting? Firemaking? Those are skills, and what can you do with them but the obvious. With archeology, players can dig up any ole item that Jagex wants them to have. They can dig up parts of items and put them together. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅThird Age̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  10. Yes, I bought a raw bass for 10gp; thought I would make a killing on it, sigh. You can guess the rest of my story. Hard to sell one raw bass at any price, much less a profit.
  11. Yes, you were being a world class jerk. I would never had done that. Think of other people just a little bit.
  12. How well Runescape does in the future, if by you mean how "well" is how many people play it, depends on a great degree with the competition. If the new games are better than Runescape, people will begin those games, passing up Runescape. And, since most people do not play two mmorpg's, Runescape will ge hurt. There are several new, expensive mmorpg's being released later this year. Over the next 5 years, there will be many. It depends on how it stacks up.
  13. The problem with a lot of people understanding what Jagex is doing is from their own lack of experience in things like - a job, paying bills - little things like that. When you learn a little more about how the real world operates, you quit thinking that the whole world should cater to you.
  14. What you have to remember is that there is a need for many more middle level type quests than quests for high levels. At any one time, there are many more middle level players than high, and part of the strategy of Jagex is to encourage those players to stay in the game long enough to become high levels. So, the complaining about lower level quests comes from a misunderstanding of how games like this work. And sure, we would all like to get some new and incredibly useful item from each quest, one that is better than the previous ones, but that would cause a stat inflation in weapons and armor that would quickly get crazy. Everything relates to everything else in this game, and you can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t go around introducing new better stuff every week. So, these complaints are more related to the type of game this is, than to Jagex and its implementation.
  15. Maybe it is because they are, well, you know, useless.
  16. What continues to amaze me are the low levels that could still kill monsters and help win the game, but don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t. It is like they don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t care if we win or not. Who are these people and who hatched them? For instance, they can still kill monsters if they kill the right ones. That still helps. But, they kill random ones; monsters that pose no threat to the void night at all. Or, I never can get how their understanding of the game is so poor. Take the South gate for instance. Why is it so hard to understand that closing it keeps monsters from shooting at the void knight through the gate opening? Close the blankety blank gate. The monsters just line up behind it, doing no damage to anyone at all. You don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t need to be told this, YOU CAN SEE IT WITH YOUR OWN EYES. There is no hope for some of these people. So, an official world is a great idea. The noobs can go to it, walk around randomly killing this or that monster, losing game after game, happy as a hog in slop, leaving the rest of us to play in peace on other worlds.
  17. Keep this in mind about PKers. It is all about them. Think of it. Someone who is PKing some poor slob who only wants to work a clue, or complete a Slayer̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s assignment for green dragons is entirely self-centered. He thinks his plans for the other player is more important than the other player̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s plans for himself. You want to kill green dragons? No, I want to kill you, take your stuff, and make you start over. How self-centered is that? This is the same attitude towards the game. Every change needs to be about them also. They don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t care if an update is good for the game as a whole. No, is it good for them and their PKing? If not, it is no good, should not be done, and somehow a personal insult. It is always all about them. They should just quit whining and grow up.
  18. How do you know that they are not putting out the highest quality updates possible already? As for hurting PKing? Good. Great. Make it even less attractive for the thugs in the wild to bother innocent people. I love watching the bullies whine and cry. Makes my day.
  19. An earlier post got it exactly right. The game has to get easier. If you want updates that mean anything at all, or new weapons that have any use at all, they have to be an improvement to existing methods and weapons. If not, why do them? Who wants to only do quests that provide benefits that are less than currently enjoyed? But, easier is relative. Since more people are getting higher skills, harder and harder quests can be added, more advanced monsters can be added. Jagex can place more and more difficult stuff into the game. So, even as skills increase, new difficulty can be added. Someday, Jagex will probably add a really hard, multiperson minigame, for instance. And honestly, don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t feel bad for people who got their experience when the game was harder. How has any of this hurt them? They got what they trained for. Nothing, no skill, no ability, no nothing has been taken away from them. So, there is nothing to feel sorry about.
  20. The argument that the game is based on pking and therefor updates should continue to honor that glorious tradition is what makes no sense. They are complaining the new items are bad for pking. But Jagex needs to introduce new exquipment that is good for the game as a whole, not just pking. They have the tail wagging the dog. Jagex should do what is right for the vast majority of time that is spent on things other than pking, not just do what is right for the playerss that want to steal the possessions of other players. Why is that so hard to understand? If you have a game that is 95% skills, quests etc., and maybe 5% pking, should you not do some good thing for the 95% just because it may hurt the 5%? No. That makes no sense at all. It is the game as a whole that should be improved, even if a small, whiney part of it is unhappy about it.
  21. Runescape based on pking? Autos were based on wagons and carts. Runescape is not about pking. Every skill in Runescape is more important than pking. Live in the distant past if you want. But, to say that it is based on pking is like living with a horse and buggy in the auto age. Should all highways be buggy friendly? Should cities be built around the ability to feed and water horses? That is why the arguments about the important of pking are so silly. They are so, yesterday. Take pking out of Runscape and you still have a game. Take the rest of Runescape out of pking and there is nothing left. The people holding on the glory pking days, whineing about any update to the game that does put its greatest respect on the continued glory of pking, are like people complaing about the invention of autos. They are, well, they are putting the cart before the horse. That is simply a fact, get over it.
  22. The idea that this game is based on pking is just wrong, not to mention silly. Just compare all the time spent not in the wild to time in the wild. Just compare all the geography not in the wild to what is in the wild. Just compare all the people you find playing not in the wild to those in the wild. Just compare all the activities not in the wild to in the wild. Only a rather small percentage of the game takes place in the wild. So, based on pking, ROFLMAO.
  23. Has anyone ever considered that 1) Killing other people in the wild who are just working a clue, killing green dragons or crafting runes 2) and then whining about how unfair it is that you are not getting as much of that other player̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s stuff that you think you deserve 3) may be the indication of an adolescently stunted character? Really, would a mature person act this way? I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think so. So, why should we care, let them whine.
  24. Sorry if this has already been suggested. But, how about this strategy? The defender goes directly to the Horn of Glory ( HOG ) and calls out instructions to the other 4 players. He does not try to lure any Runners at this point. He is the only person calling instructions, leaving the other four to concentrate on their jobs. The team has 2 collectors who try to get as many red and green eggs into the cannon as possible. At first anyway, they use the cannon only on the Runners. They completely ignore the blue eggs, and use the time for collecting blue eggs to fire the cannon. The healer is now responsible for healing 3 people besides himself, the defender being safe at the HOG. ( At least, it think that the defender can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t be attacked, I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know this for sure. ) When he has time, he poisons the Penance Healers. The attacker first kills all the rangers, then the fighters. If he kills all of them before the game is over, and this has been my experience, he then relieves the defender at the HOG. At this point, the defender can start killing any Runners that are left. I have been on three teams that have killed the queen, so I have some experience with the game, but not nearly as much of some of you others. So, for those with more experience, does this sound like a good idea?
