Old Racist lady owned! * update
Man I hope you don't think that the Southern plantation owner style got crushed by the civil war. We're still fighting that battle. On topic: The woman and man were secretly good friends who collaborated to get a better seat or possibly free schwag! :P

Best Book I've Ever Read
A kindred spirit! Marvelous! Did you read the Demonwars sagas? Love those series. If you guys like this style I highly recommend Raymond E. Feist's books starting with Magician: apprentice. There's something like 15 books in the series and they are completely worth it.

Alternative fuels - my gripes...
That's all well and good if you have enough fresh water to actually pull that off. But the energy required to make that a viable power source, atm, is more than is produced. At least last time I was aware of such experiments :-? Thats the main problem with Hydrogen Fuel cells atm (I mean, aside from it being reactive as hell and will explode with the slightest of sparks). The easiest way to get pure Hydrogen (H2 gas) on earth is to extract it from water. The problem is that it takes more energy to get the H2 from water than it gives off by burning it. That means the only place we can get pure H2 without extracting it from something else is in interstellar space where there aren't enough other materials for it to react with :( Okay you could also get it from the corona of the sun but I ain't going in to get it. Wind and solar power are good, but they have a very low energy efficiency. A good solar panel is like 12 percent efficient and that is on a good day. What happens if its cloudy? :? I'm not sure about wind power efficiency, but its probably a little better. Once again though, it requires certain weather patterns to really work. Don't get me wrong because I'm all for these two methods, they just won't work everywhere. Nuclear is really pretty good if there's no meltdown. Problem is getting it into the cars (same with the energy created by the solar panels and wind turbines). We don't really have batteries that can store enough charge to really make it worth it right now. Finally, people like big stupid SUV's and like to drive fast. The first generation alternate energy cars are going to be slower and much smaller which is far to unamerican for most people. (*note, there is absolutly no sarcasm involved here :P ) Personally, I think the next step is going to be ethenol. I know they're using it a fair amount down in Brazil in combination with gasoline and it works well. We do need to start making prepartations for alternate energy sources now, but until fossile fuels become far less abundent, nothing major is really going to be done about it. :(

If you had the money?
I'd buy a bigger rack :D And by that I mean, I would get the complete set of climbing gear. ( a couple sets of cams, at least two sets of stoppers, a set of hexes, tons of slings and biners, and a nice 60m dry rope. Then I'd buy a cheap used car and put the rest into the bank. Yeah thats only about 6000 USD, I don't need much 8) Oh and I'd buy my dad a cool attachment for his tractor even if he doesn't need it :D

How do you think humans will evolve in the near 10000 years?
I don't know about the rest of you, but I plan on having at least one more arm and wings by then :D Anyway, I don't think their will be any major changes if we live that long (which I highly doubt. One of us will screw up and create a deadly disease to kill everyone eventually). We'll probably get taller, and probably get more intelligent, but unless something drastic happens that removes our ability to shape the environment, nothing major will happen.

When or how?
I was going to say no until I read this. Now I don't know. See that occured to me as well, but it just started addign all these weird problems. For instance, you know you can't die, so you jump from a plane at 35000 feet. Without a parachute. Over the biggest bed of [bleep]es ever created by mankind. (seriously this thing is huge :P ). How do you live after that fall and subsequent implalation (actually a word? :? ). It would defeat some of the laws of physics or nature or what have you. Simply put, what happens if you try and commit suicide 10 years before you're supposed to die? Does the gun fail everytime you pull the trigger? I guess it just doesn't work if you think about it this way. And I need to soak my head now cause that got really confusing really fast :D Anyway, barring the above weirdness, I would definitly prefer to not know. That little lingering thought in the back of your mind would suck. Kinda like a really bad test except more so 8)

DODS - Day of defeat source
bah they should have created something else before kalt. Kalt always just turns into a nade fest because its so linear. I used to play on Cain's Lair exclusively (hence CLR) but its been empty for too long and I tend to server hop. I'll be back on my main comp tonight so maybe I'll see you guys on there. ....and I will punch you to death at some point

DODS - Day of defeat source
barihawk do you typically play as a sniper? or was it some other dude with a similar name who destroyed me the other day?

DODS - Day of defeat source
I'll see if I can whip up a comparison for ya (I play both dod and dod:s) The simple answer is that you can't really compare them. This may seem a little obtuse, but its true, they are essentially different games. Many people expected a beefed up version of dod and were dissapointed when dod:s came out and was a different game entirely. The principles are all the same and the graphics are way better with insane physics and a more interactive environment, but the gamestyle itself changed. This being said, the main difference between the games is a sense of realism. In source, assault rifles are not very accurate at distance and shooting someone in the foot with a rifle is not always instant death. Grenades will "blur" your vision if it goes off near you (which is relly annoying sometimes but makes sense) and bazookas have a much greater radius of affect. Smoke grenades tend to make mgs and snipers less effective so much of the game is close combat. In general I've found that dod:s is a faster game, assault types smokign in for close combat and quick combat. Much of the pinpoint accuracy of the pub super stars is gone. For instance, in dod a regular tommy gun was accurate for as far as you could keep the recoil down. In dod:s, even if its on the enemy, it still might not hit. In the end it comes down to personal preference. I happen to like dod:s more but still play dod every once and awhile. One draw back is that there isn't very many maps to play for dod:s as of now and the ones we do have are pretty much exhausted. Still, I like the gameplay better as it is much more difficult for one team to place 3 mgs up and completely dominate the map for the entire round. Stalemates are much less frequent and the action is far more abundant. If you ever get a better comp, i difinitly suggest dod:s as it is still a kick [wagon] game, even if it is slightly different than the origional. oh and on dod I play as fxgranite on dod:s I play as fxgranite[CLR.P] the p stands for punching squad

GUN, the game
haha I like all the proof. now all those gibbering idiots who say "no pic no proof" can go eat a pillow. (I really just wanted to say gibbering :D ) oh and on a side note, as an avid downloader (yeah I'm cheap, I'm sorry :? , I pay for the ones I really want...) you can download all sorts of emulators for stuff like that. For those that are wondering, an emulator is just a program that pretends its the console system and allows you to play the game on your computer.

Animal is Skinned Alive!
To function in normal society you have to use some form of animal product in some way. same goes for being functional as a human being in general. There are reasons we are omnivores  Anyway, yes its brutal, yes its grusome, and yes it happens. As do a lot of other nasty things in this world. To be honest, I couldn't do that to an animal, and have a hard time watchign it, but there are much more pressing issues in the world to deal with than some animal being skinned. To respond to some of the other things brought up in this thread: It is interesting that we empathize with fuzzy animals more than say, a snake. Personally, I think that its onyl because its so much easier to see it as a pet or something familiar. Since many people hate snakes, they wouldn't be too concerned about seeing one in distress. from hohto I'm sorry but this attitude is far more disturbing than the live skinning. Most of the people there are competely blameless. Its not them that are overpopulated (although you could make the arguement that the starving ones are just by nature of the environment). Many kids are born with AIDs and I'm pretty sure they had no say in the matter. And still more of them are being pushed out of homelands because of terrible civil war or political strife. By an easy accident of birth you could have been in that situation.. Finally, to the man(woman?) talking patching up a deer hide after its been shot: I'd like to see you chase down a live deer and stun it with your bear hands

Goldeneye, Timesplitters, Perfect Dark, and Rare.
I must agree, although I'm a huge fan of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. And I've always found a mouse is so much easie to aim with than a joystick, and the keyboard gives a enormous advantage in versitility(sp?).

Best mmorpg other than Runescape?
I never really get interested in either guild wars or wow, but theres a new mmorpg coming out in January called Pirates of the Burning Sea that looks pretty sweet. It has a lot of the economy that EVE does and the graphics are sweet. Plus, I just want to roam around as a pirate sinking helpless merchant ships :P

MTV's True Life: I'm a proffesional gamer
I haven't seen the show so is the super smash bros part melee or the origional N64 version? Don't know about melee but in the N64 smash bros I got good enough that I can see how jigglypuff is a great char (I'm not gunna claim that I was pro though :P ) I was always a samus and donkey kong person 8) although Link is pretty sick as well

do you actually know what a period is? I had to read this 3 times before I had some idea what you were trying to say. And if people are getting off topic, its because no one knows what you said origionally. Anyway, I like watching soccer (Or real football if you will :P )
