  1. I like the new tactics, very nice.
  2. I'm happy to say this guide helped me become the first person with single-digit defense (because pure doesn't clarify enough) to solo the Zammy Boss. It was hard, and I got unlucky the first two times because I wasn't hitting anything with whip, but the 3rd time I had mith gloves and they seemed to help loads O_O Very nice guide, looking forward to the new tactics.
  3. The backpack really helps there, telegrabbing is just completely sucky. While I was killing them, one trip I managed to do 4 drags in one trip O_o. I think the drag dropped a shark though. I killed 77 mith drags then I sold my fury because I needed money. I couldn't be bothered to do more because I felt like pking. I wanna finish another 23 though. Sadly, no dragon drops, but about 9 rune b axes. I kept track by dividing my mith bars by 3 :P. If you've got room, collecting the mith bars is great. The only time I died was because I didn't have a teletab and I was idiotic enough to stay until like 40 hp lmfao.
  4. Fires/Waters are easier? I'm pretty sure its a longer route compared to airs and earths, even with 80 agility. Not to mention you have to run through MULTIPLE dangerous monsters. Hellhounds, poison spiders, blue dragons, demons, etc.
  5. When you switch weapons and you have the "other options" window up (when you right click), the window doesn't disappear when the qeapon actually equips. Thank god, that was getting annoying.
  6. Thats kinda on zybez's Did You Know page. Did you know that the r2h was orginally purple? Not sure if this was for all rune, but I remember seeing multiple screenshots of the old r2h. It was changed to blue during classic, but that was later. Did you know that the highest alching item in the game is the Dragonfire Shield? It alchs for 1,200,000gp. Not the regular one, the one with the Draconic Visage on it. Did you know that you can kill Mith Drags on a pure? I can kill 2-3 a trip ranging them, and I'm 77 range, 4 defence. Did you know that apparently theres still a safespot at Mith Drags? My friend used one about 2 days ago, and he said hes gonna show it to me today. Could go on and on.
  7. So you need fishing no matter what to get to mith drags? Or can you do it with just the 21 firemaking? I wanna try mith dragons, but I only have like 31 fishing or something like that. I'm lazy :P And yes, I'm pure. My friend went there and said he was able to only kill one, and I forgot what method he used. I know for sure though that he didn't use ruby/diamond bolts. EDIT: I just tried yesterday, and I only needed to do the firemaking thing to go down in the whirlpool. Just do the firemaking, and talk to the guy about the next part in firemaking. After that, it will allow you to go down into the whirlpool if you finish off the conversation. A god mitre is a great helmet to use for killing the drags. It gives +4 prayer and +4 mage defence/attack. Doesn't decrease any stats. If it isn't +4 prayer, then its +5. I've been using a god cape instead of the arrow backpack, and whenever theres 3 stacks of bolts on the floor I'll telegrab one. I'd run in and take it if it wasn't so strong with melee :/. But the reason I use the god cape instead of the backpack is because of the mage defence and the fact that I haven't done Animal Magnatism. As a pure, I was able to kill 2-3 dragons a trip. I used ruby bolts until it was down to about half hp, and then I switched to diamond. If I was low on sharks, about 4 sharks left, I'd just switch to diamond. I wore this: Helm: Zammy Mitre Amulet: Amulet of Fury Cape: Saradomin Mage Arena Cape Arrows: Ruby Bolts (e) Weapon: Rune Crossbow Body: Guthix Robe Top Shield: Anti-dragon shield (Did I even need to say that?) Legs: Black D'hide chaps Gloves: Black D'hide Vambs Boots: Ghostly Boots Ring: Ring of Wealth In my inventory, I would have: Diamond Bolts (e) 1 Antifire Potion 1 Range Potion 3 Prayer Potions 22 Sharks 50 Airs 20 Laws Were I to have used a backpack, I would have replaced the airs+laws with a house teletab. My mage defence was +73, prayer bonus +13, and my range bonus was about +132 or something like that. Seems to be quite effective for me. If I was able to have more mage defence/attack, then I'd try maging the dragons. I'm definately NOT gonna try meleeing the drags, they would completely destroy me. I MIGHT try maging the drags, though, just for fun. Back to your guide, I loved it. It helped me loads.
  8. Airs are better, but require 66 crafting. The reason is the fact that you don't have to run through the poison spiders every time you go through. You'll pretty much be found at one point or another when going to earth obelisk, but people will most likely assume you're going to kill demons with mage. A killer comes, but can't find you, so I guess you're safe from pkers.
  9. Oh right, I forgot about that. I remember saying that yesterday, must have forgotten from the headache I had when I woke up (no hangovers, I swear >_>) I'll edit my post. But with the new pray, you can still hit insanely high now in CW.
  10. I'm still amazed. Herblore has been out for like 6 years (since members came out), yet hardly anyone has 99. Its one of the skills you basically have to buy, though. Same with crafting, smithing, mining. Mining was a lot easier in classic, and it seems to show with that statistic of people with 99 mining. Crafting and smithing are also are skills you pretty much have to buy. It shows that its buyable by the fact that there are more 99 smithers versus 99 miners. Of all the stats, it seems obvious that there are a lot less people with 99 attack or strength versus people with 99 defence. You know why. Thieving has been going up in popularity. Lots more people are getting 99, and it seems more people are starting to use Pyramid Plunder. Fletching has been slowed way down, and the experience rate has been nerfed when stringing. Which kinda sucked for me, I was stringing about 21k bows at the time, and 10k of them were done before the update. Had to trade the other 11k for strung bows so I could go alch. Ended up getting 85 mage and selling the 2.8k bows left over to my friend for his goal of 99 mage. But yeah, this is a nice guide to show how unique you are from others, to show you how many others share the same accomplishment as you do.
  11. Did you know that in runescape classic, there was a glitch on the falador castle where if the door was closed, you could climb on the ladder through the northwest window of the castle, causing you to be on black space? There was a window up there as well, and you could climb back down. Jagex fixed this a couple days later. You were also able to move around by clicking on the minimap in the black. Did you know that the max combat in classic was 123? Did you know that the reason that the max experience is 200,000,000 is because of bit limitations? After about 1-2m more experience, you would be level 127 in that stat, and my guess is that JagEx uses an 8-bit signed number. It would try to calculate how much experience you would need for level 128, but because 127 is the max 8-bit signed number, it would actually calculate the experience for level -127. Note the negative level. Of course, I can't prove this is true, but its the most logical explanation.
  12. This helps barrows pures/tanks, actually. The prayer requires 70 defence and 70 pray. I've seen screenies of 90s on players in the duel arena, max strength bonus, dbaxe special and stuff like that. 8% of 90 = 180/25 = 7.2 damage more, making the new max 97/98. No one will use this in the wilderness obviously, considering that lots of people have vengence and recoils, meaning that dharokers would own themselves by hitting a 97/98. Its not gonna happen because of the fact that they have to be 1 hp, and they'll just get hit a 74. In my opinion, it's just for higher leveled people, mainly 100+. The lowest level dharokers and stuff I see are in the high 80s. Being a pure with 4 defence, I actually kind of like the new update. It gives people with 70 defence the advantage they should have over 45 defence pures their level. EDIT: Deleted the section on max hits in CW or Undead, if you wish to know, its about 115/116 on undead. Forgot you can't use barrows sets in CW. Thanks to the poster below me for reminding me.
  13. I saw a screenshot of a message to Jagex from a guy complaining about Pest Control and the insane rates of experience quite a few months ago. They replied saying that they are currently trying to create a solution to this. Simply put, I've been expecting this for quite a while. I think this might be in responce to the fact that people have found how PC can be used and abused. Defil3d, got 99 defence, his upper levels coming from PC and fixing the barriers, making it very easy for him to get it. The race for first to 200m str is, I'm sure, being done by PC. What I don't get though, is the fact that people are complaining about the combat stats. So what, you get 99 str at 105k exp an hour? Thats for me on my pure, and I'm 97 strength on it. Look at thieving, cooking, etc. You're getting mad because strength is so fast to level due to pc? Thieving is 200k+ exp an hour after level 91, and cooking is insane fast pretty much most of the way. Looking at previous updates, I think Jagex is currently trying to find ways to make it so that stats can't be raised so fast. Fletching was slowed down extremely. Stringing could get you LOADS of exp an hour. I'm happy with the update though. After pcing from 70-97 str, I was insane bored of pc. I'd write more but I gotta go.
  14. Are those random free? Wow, if that's true, thanks a lot. *Grabs teleother runes* :P Still randoms annoy me, everyone who has ever gotten a mysterious box at DKs or a Sandwich Lady at Steels knows what I\\'m talking about. Teleothers aren't effective anymore, they don't stop combat. The axe head random has been handled (no pun intended) by autoers for a long time. They would find a red dot on the minimap. If they didn\\'t get the axe head, it would try another dot. This did not work a few times, considering this was a solution in beta. One autoer that was just testing it ended up all the way in some random place. What jagex needs to fix is the Ent. When a tree turns into an Ent, the name of the tree turns yellow. If I\\'m not mistaken, a yellow dot spawns on the map too. Since autoers rely on colors to decide what they will do, they can use this to decide wether to attack or not. Most people don\\'t auto anymore, but they do something else. They legally (I believe) multilog, meaning they have about 3 accounts logged into different worlds then control them one at a time. 1 action on one, check the next one, and so on. I\\'ve seen this with many autoers, they\\'ll have all the same name but different numbers at the end of the name. I\\'d give examples, but I believe the \\\"No naming names\\\" rule applies there. I know they don\\'t auto though. If they do, then they sit at the keyboard whilst doing it. I\\'ve seen autoers talking quite a few times, sometimes saying inappropriate things. Saw one say 1,2,3 in like chinese. Quan,Ni,whatever 3 is. I recognized it because I know Ni means 2 from a user letter about the Wii and if they make a Wii 2, hilarity will ensue in China/Japan. Back on the topic though, new randoms cause autoers to spend a few hours having to patch their scripts. Most likely, programmers will make it so that if they do get teled to this random place, they will log out until they\\'ve gotten all the colors for doing this random. People that don\\'t have a lot of experience with the game probably won\\'t have it easy for this random, looking at the screenshots. In summary, this random event is a temporary help to people that aren\\'t autoers and stuff, and a solution to the problem of losing 2.5m just by clicking a tree and then reading forums on a maximized browser, which is the case most of the time I bet. This has happened to me with a rune axe before. Now, you will just have to go to lumby to get it fixed, and you will be able to multitask more efficently. EDIT: Sorry about the slashes, its the computer at this school :/
  15. slickmove, wrong. The highest that appears is 399. Dragonfire Shield is highest alchable item, 1.2m.
  16. Requesting a moderator to clean up these posts, half of them are arguments about pures. It has become or is becoming a huge flaming war. The point is that what was already challenging due to prayer switching is now even harder. Thousands of people, pures and nonpures, got their fire capes via the luring method. To suddenly make it so that it is impossible for these people to get a fire cape causes it to now become an item for pures to say "Haha, I got my fire cape and you can't now." The same can be said with 99 fletching. Stringing was made 2.5x slower by the String All option, and even slower now that the bank closes slowly. However, this only differs in that its still possible for everyone. Jagex is trying to make the game harder, but they haven't taken into account all the people that have done what they are making harder already while it was easy. The results of this update are inconclusive yet, however, because it hasn't been long. Pures have always been able to do a lot of things, and we still can. I've done KQ trips (of course, not solo) and Barrows on my pure. Thats all I'll write for now, because I'm writing this while pking with clan, lol.
  17. 3__Hit__U had a vid of that elven field where there was a tree that you could spawn loads of tree spirits. Its prob bug abuse though
  18. Drop the clue. I get that a lot since I'm 2 defence. Especially on level 3s.
  19. Oo I know one to find. Most/least feathers dropped by evil chicken. MOM gives a max of 640 gp. I can think of only 20 stackable items in f2p. 11 Types of runes, 7 types of arrows (training/bolts included), needles, thread. Theres more Im sure
  20. I'll be seeing you there one day :P. But I won't pk you. I developed pk methods in about 2 days of rr pking. No one knows of it except a few friends, and to get away w/o being hit you have to be really fast. While RR pking I always see rocks that go unmined for like 15 minutes. Maybe I can help you get rocks over the weekend :P. Nice guide. Might wanna add rock hugging to melee. I'm quite good at escaping pkers as well. Contact me sometime, I'll help you with the guide.
  21. Man, this is serious business. Its 33 dead, 26 injured. The man shooting had a lot of experience. He reloaded like they do in the movies. Everyone up at TC Williams heard about it... Now what I fear is whats been happening a lot in the school district lately -- Copycat incidents. Watch NBC, they're talking a lot about it. Biggest mass shooting in us history.
  22. 2,147,483,647 has to be the maximum experience, unless Jagex finally started using "long" variables rather than "integer" variables, or if they finally started using unsigned numbers. Unsigned, the maximum would be 4,294,967,295. However, we don't have confirmation yet of what the actual current max is. If they used a long variable, then 4.6m would easily be possible, seeing that the max number for a long variable that is signed is 9,223,372,036,854,775,807. Man, if they made the max amount of money a long variable, that would be insane. Max GP from Mysterious Old Man: 640 gp, I believe. Nice guide, very interesting.
  23. I'm getting 99k to 132k an hour (at 11 trips per hour) at pyramid plunder, and I'm 76 thieving. The bandits look quite confusing to me. In the video, you didn't explain how you lure them. Do you just select lure and go to a house or what? In Pyramid Plunder, its best if you have another person that you're playing with. The reason being that the door to the next room is the same for everybody. It changes every 5 minutes though. They will sometimes change while you are in the game. Its annoying because then you have to click all the doors again to find out which it changed too. Using this method, you can just skip the chests in the rooms before your two best, and you'll have enough time to search all the urns in your second best room and last room. I improved from 9k exp to 12k exp per trip like this. This method really helps when you're 81 or 91, though. Nice guide though. I'm probably gonna to do my own thing to 99 though.. trying to use up a bunch of food in my bank
  24. aow. now. best. guide. EVAR. 2100000000/10. Sorry, 32-bit limitations :| I know its more than that.
  25. Wow, this post is still alive o_O Not all places give randoms. Fight Caves, Pest Control, that stuff. Theres also an oak tree I heard in varrock. It was pures vs pures :| Pures win & lose either way. Wasn't a glitch though. Its timed for autoers to give them a random after being in a certain amount of time. They were delaying a lot, so we got it before we hopped.
