  1. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=275560&highlight= Theres a thread about it, go take a look.
  2. I see nothing wrong or noobish with adding horses. It makes perfect sense. IF jagex were to add horses, they could put it with farming, carpentry, and POH. YOu would have to build a stable next to your house, and take care of the horse. As for the sizing problem, the only thing standing in the way, it would be simple for jagex make the paths and distances slightly bigger, and when you were riding take a view further away. It would be a good money sinkhole maintaining your horse, and would add more to farming, which some dont seem excited about. Pluse there could be some sorta horse raising thing. And as for vendetta, im not sure you used it right, since it means a bitter, bloody feud, usually between families.
  3. Very wrong. There are way to many people who actually think this. Let me set you straight. f2p=game base, p2p=expansion, benefiets, etc. f2p is the main part, with p2p being the extra stuff. Not the other way around. In no way is f2p a demo. It just seems that way with all teh extra stuff p2p has, which they deserve, since they are paying $5 a month on an internet game. Ok back to the topic. That would make sense for agility to affect your defm but it would be difficult to balance, especially with f2p, though it would be easy enough to negate the effect when in f2p worlds. As for the sumersaults and stuff you mentioned, i think there should be more emotes like that that require high lvl agility to unlock.
  4. hes right, in f2p firemaking is for nothing more than skill total. In members, however, there are multiple quests and areas that require firemaking lvls. I dont know what jagex planned to do with firemaking in the beginng, but it seems now there are scrambling to find a use for it, some the latest areas require firemaking. I ignored firemaking also, just recently got it up to 40. Its an easy skill to raise, if your ever bored its a fresh change, you cna make fun designs with the fires. As for fletching...hes right again. To add fletching to f2p would change alot things, and i dont think it would be for th better.
  5. this idea wouldnt work. It would shift the focus from gaining skill lvls to making money, since only money would be needed to raise lvls, as oppose to time, money, planning, patience, etc. Someone with alot of money, thro, say, merchanting, could easily raise all skill lvls without even lifting a sword, or burying a bone. This would be even worse than the said apocolypse. Which will be avoided at all costs by jagex. Tehy are adding money drains every update, and will surely introduce more rare, high priced items in the future.
  6. if that happens, lets hope we've found another planet or something, since overpopulation would be a rather large preoblem if no1 died.
  7. I really like this idea, whether members stayed or not. It would deter scamming and weed out a bunch of them who wouldnt pay. Too bad to do it jagex would have to know alot of personal information to actually bill you, and im sure theres no way it would actually work. I still like the idea...extra income with fewer scammers, perfect for jagex.
  8. they should have a monthly sheet of statistics for runescape. Top 1000 (?) for a variety of categories, such as time played. Most kills wouldnt work though, you could just let your friend kill you hundreds of times a day and get on the top of the list, without any skill. Some other stats could be most exp gained in overall, and in each skil. There could also be a list of the most killed monsters in runescape (that would be really interesting...chickens? dragons? demons? who knows?) there could also be random ones, most logs chopped, most lobbies fished, etc. It could be a way to have a more interactive website, build a stronger community, and create some healthy competition. :D
  9. poh=player owned house. And as for the current system, well, they havent added it yet. I think its supposed to be added by the end of the year
  10. umm, is it just me or is there something wrong there? i think agility should add to speed, or sum equitable item, like boots. That would make more since than a scroll. and if it fed from prayer, why not just make it a prayer? that wouldnt be bad, a speed increasing prayer.
  11. I have never played a game with poh, so im not entierly sure on how they work. Thus im not sure if my idea can be implemented succesfully. Long post, but please read through it all if your gonna comment. It sorta jumps around, so stick with it. As the idea suggests, there is a real estate aspect of poh. Instead of just having thousands of lots next to eachother for people to build on, there could be various sites for people to choose from, varying in value. At the beginning of POH, there would be empty lots scattered throughout the map. Im not sure if poh are the same on every world, like most things, or different on each world, like people. Either way it would work with my idea. Now, at the start the empty lots would sell for a price set by rs. A huge lot in a desierable location could cost millions, while a small lot in the middle of nowhere would be cheap. there would be some nieghborhoodish areas with many lots clumped together, and ruralish areas with no lots around. Jagex would tell us the time the lots would go on sale (they wouldnt tell us the location, price, or size) so peple have a fair chance at getting good ones. At the start atleast, you could only own one lot at a time for obviuos reasons. There would be a very limited number of high end lots, and many, but finite, cheap ones. there would also be apartment like places, for when all the actual houses run out, where you could buy a room very cheaply. Then, once carpentry comes out, you build houses on the lots. The size and location of the lots would restrict what you could build. Mansions and castles on huge lots, little huts on tiny ones. Maybe at some point, or never, you can own more than 1 property. Then comes the real estate aspect. you can buy, sell, and trade the properties, and the houses built on them, to other players. A person with high carpentry could buy a cheap hut, then use their high lvl to build it into a better, more desireable place, then sell it for a profit. People with houses near world 1 varrock could sell to people who always trade, pkers would buy hoses near edgville, etc. I dont know exatly what poh are for, and if they are nothing more than a bigger place to store your stuff, then my idea wouldnt do much. But if you could make your log-in spot at your house, or the place you go to when you die (with restrictions, of course) then it could make pohs really something. People would strive for that mansion behind varrock bank, or that villa in fally park, or that sprawling ranch in the lumbridge countryside. Once you bought a property with a house on it, you could choose to demolish all structures, or add on (if you had high enough carpentry) And for trading, you would trade with the deed, or title, of the property. The deed would say where the property was, who owns it, who built on it, and what world. If you dropped the deed, then sum1 could find it and take your house, if u died with, then the same thing. you could even duel over deeds. I think it would be better if the house were different on each world, so I, for example, could own the same property on world 1 as ssomeone owned on world 2, etc. That way the high end houses would be more accessable. People would try and buy bigger and better houses, while other would just try and make money by buying fixer uppers, in a sense. this would take the spotlight off of rares, and add a whole new dimension to trading. Merchanters would love this aspect. I think this idea is a way to make poh a bigger part of the game, and more useful than what ive heard. Please keeep in mind that ive never played a game with poh, and dont know that much about them. I would personlly love this addition, i dunno about others. feel free to criticize, add on, discuss, chastize, etc etc.
  12. I think being able to msg people when they arent logged on is the one thing that runescape desperatly needs for the social aspect. Like you all said both people would need to be on eachothers friend list, so there wouldnt be spam. But this would be perfect for people with friends in clashing time zones, and are never on at the same time.
  13. Your right, Runescape is not set in a specific time frame, but certain things just dont fit, like cars, lasers, jetpacks etc. Rock and roll intruments are some of those things that just dont fit. Harp, lyre, etc, would be more fitting, but still wouldnt have a point.
  14. i like the idea, but i dont think it should be a skill. I mean, morality isnt really a skill, its more of a preferance, or who you are. I think it would be interesting if what monsters you killed, what you did in certain quests, and how you acted towards npcs affected your "morality rating" Certain weapons, gloves, capes, armor would only be usable by the follower of teh respective god. This would be interesting for pking, and would more stuff to do and strive for. If you are a follower of zammy, and you kill an imp, you wouldnt automatically be shunned from that following, but if you went around slaughtering imps, your rating wth zammy would fall, and it would be harder to gain back teh rating, and thus be able to wield certain high rating gear. I think this addition would be interesting and would add a whole new dimension to runescape.
  15. 1. Nope. You want quests, pay for em. 2. See 1 3. Thats a good idea, no big problem, there is one in fally. Better to have furnace in mining guild than crafting guild. 4. Cooking would be fine, but not dropping, that would increase power mining and fishing, would would make lvls faster, to fast. 5. Good idea, would need to be on screen for protectiona gainst keyloggers. Best idea ive heard regarding this is a downstairs safe, in addition to your normal bank space, that would have a few spaces for large sums of money and rares, and would require a password. Still only accesable by the one account, to prevent having multiple accounts interact
  16. since im so obviously the misinformed one here...and your the expert...ill ask you, y2g. If price manipulators are the biggest problem, which everyone seems to be aware of, then why are they continually effective? What do you consider price manipulation? Buying low and selling high? thats sensible and honest. The team scamming someone discribed above? thats dishonest and manipulative, but could easily be avoided by knowing the price of an object, and knowing if something seems fishy. I may be way off base, as you said, since all my information regarding this issue has been gleaned off these forums and coupled with common sense. Please, i am curious, what do you consider price manipulation? And you said the prices would remain the same. That is just plain wrong. There is a limited amount of them, and there arent gonna be anymore. If there are more and more people on runescape everyday, yet the same, possibly fewer, amount of rares, then how could the prices stay the same? The demand would exced the supply, and prices would rise, naturally, over time
  17. the slayer thing sounds like agility trainging, and has been brought up before, i believe. Teh tanning thing is interesting tho, and i think it would be a good idea. One problem would be players offering to tan other players hieds for free, adn then taking the hides for themselves. But i still like the idea, and i think it would be a good addition to mid-hi lvl crafting
  18. What about the poeple who wear them as a status symbol? The ones who are veyr rich, and want to show the wrold how rich they are? Rares arent only for money, or for looking good, they are also too set the wealthy people appart from the middle class. the aboves idea would ruin, and make it so any average joe off the street could get one. Sure theres dragon, barrows, and God, Trim, and Gold armour, but thats stuff is being added to the game everyday. Their rarariy wanes every day, and with it thier price and status as rich peoples stuff. There have to be items that set people apart. Those people with rares have spent long hours trying to get them, so let them. No point in ruining a perfectly decent status symbol. If you want to wear one just for fun? Work for it, it will make wearing all the more enjoyable knowing you put ur blood and sweat into it. People who just trade around with them? Let them, they earned the rare in the first place, either by luck or skill, and they can do whatever they want. Teh solution to the Rares Problem? Do nothing. There aint no problem. Yes prices are raising, we all have theories why. The plain and simple truth is the prices are rasing, and theres litttle we can do except toughen up, stop complaining, and work hard to achieve your gold. Theres your solution. (and fyi, i dont own a single rare, but am currently WORKING up money to buy one. SO dont think im some super rich maniulator.)
  19. its really gradual, like 1 degree per year avrage increase. I dont think during any of our lifetimes anything serious will happen. Yes it will get warmer, yes the ice caps will get smaller, buts its a minimal effect for most people, unless you live right on the coast at sea lvl. What should the Gov't do? Not much they can do...most already have pollutin restrictions etc. And as far as i know theres no ways to reverse what is already done, just slow it down. Nothing we can except all ride bikes everywhere, or drive cars powered by vegetable oil
  20. I actually like this idea. I mean the idea that chicken bones give equal exp to actual human bones is sorta wierd. Maybe you would have to burry them in a cemetary for the extra exp to take place. With this a new market would be created for pkers, which i find amusing for sum reason. The extra exp would have to be worth tho, other wise people wouldnt bother. "Selling Human Bones"
  21. umm, no. Me thinks uve played mortal combat? Chopping sum1s head isnt exatly kid friendly, and there would be no point, except to add some more violence.
  22. Why not Pine trees? why not apple trees? why not chinese mangroves? they could choose any trees, so whats the point of adding 1 more to chop down and burn? it wouldnt add anything, and we arent losing anything by not having them. They would be pointless. Plus we are getting a farming skill with plantable trees, and u never know, u might get your birch
  23. that problem could easily be fixed, by either sending the losers to place no1 would willingly want to go, or not send them anywhere, instead have them be "KOed" and stay in the spot of the duel with a dunce cap so everyone could see the loser
