  1. Happened to me once aswell. For whatever reason, it wants you to go around the other way, so the gaurd will face the opposite way, so he can be shot, and it wont let you do anything else. Like you said, when I went around the other way, it worked, but I also got hit by the other guard.
  2. well, i'm gonna assume you're f2p, since you didn't say otherwise in your post. I personally like mining, so i'm going to be biased towards that. Once you get to a decent lvl (40 or so) you can mine iron very fast, and sell for 100gp each. After lvl 60, you can get into the mining guild, and mine coal and sell for 200gp each, though coal takes a while. And, if you ever get to 85, rune ore is a great money maker. What most people would suggest, though, is wcing. I have never really liked this skill, but it is what alot of people use to make money. Train nonstop to lvl 60 (shouldn't take too long), then cut yews and sell for 300gp ea (i think, like I said, i'm not a wcer). As for fishing, it is terrible for f2p, since the bank is so far away.
  3. He accidently made a new thread, instead of a reply. To extend upon his answer, all barrows items have a special ability when you wield the full set, and Guthans randomly heals you when you fight, making training alot easier. You get it from, like he said, the Barrows, or by buying it from other players.
  4. I'll spare a new thread and just ask a question here, since y'all seem so helpful. What's the fastest agility exp at around lvl 30?
  5. This has been for quite awhile, I believe...or atleast I think so. I'm pretty sure I remember a "hidden update" post like this a few weeks ago. What I am sure is different, though, is the text and timer that appears when world switching quickly. It used to be one line, now its two lines of text.
  6. Thanks for all the help. Anything else?
  7. can anyone help me?
  8. A bank is to prevent people from getting into your bank if someone gets on your account. You can make one by talking to any banker, and you get to choose the combination. If you forget it, it can be removed after a few days, you decide how long. It is recomended to have one, since it will stall a "hackeer" from stealing your banked items for a few days, which can be enough to save all your items. If you have a pin, you must enter it only the first time you use your bank after logging in.
  9. OK, I got membership today, and I had some questions. 1. First, what gear should I buy? What is a necessity for members? 2. What armor/weapons should I buy? 3. I am going to do construction first, and I plan on "powerleveling" until a certain lvl, and then concentrate on my house. What lvl should I get to? What should I do for fast experiance? 4. Whats a good way for me to make money? my stats are below. My combat lvl is 80, and I have about a mil cash, plus around 3 mil worth of rune ores. Here are my stats: Attack: 65 Defence: 60 Strength: 70 Hitpoints: 66 Ranged: 50 Prayer: 45 Magic: 60 Cooking: 65 Woodcutting: 47 Fishing: 65 Crafting: 70 Smithing: 66 Mining: 85 Runecraft: 30 Thanks for any help.
  10. The higher you get your mage lvl, the more often you will hit the max damage for teh spell you are using. So, though the highest spell is there, it doesn't mean you should just stop training it, if you're going to be a mage pker.
  11. You took teh words right outta my mouth, that was exactly what i was gonna post (except my mining is 85, not 90, and I didn't get a scythe). I may have had the same rune plate since I bought it, aswell, since i'm too much a chicken to wear it to the wild, and am too cautious to die other wise...but I don't know for sure.
  12. They don't really have a price, since you can get them free. Just go to the duke of lumbridge, and he'll give one to you. If you want more, you have to drop the ones in your inventory.
  13. The higher your attack, the more often you hit. Thus, raising it would obviously solve your described problem. Now, I am not a pker at all, but if you wish to make a decent str pker, i would suggest getting your attack to 40, for rune weapons, and get your str as high as possible. If you want to be pure, you shouldn't touch prayer at all anymore, unless you plan on being a very high level pker.
  14. or, they will realize runescape isn't an important part o life, find other things to do, and stop paying...I suppose both scenarios are likely, but it just doesn't seem like something Jagex would implement.
  15. You could do the Java thing, which sounds workable (I'm no expert either), or you could use something other than your computer. Have you tried setting up a timer, or alarm clock or something? This may work, since when playing runescape you rarely look at the clock, so time seems to fly...but have a loud buzzing alarm in your face should bring you back to reality. I don't know what your family situation is, but another idea would be to ask one of your siblings or parents to simply walk by and turn off the computer at a certain time. The first step to curbing an addiction is acceptance...so you're well on your way a happy, healthy runescape experiance. More on topic...I doubt Jagex would introduce this feature, since, though it would be a nice thing to do, it wouldn't be a very good buisness decision.
  16. I was wondering how I could go about getting membership. I have been planning to do so for a while, but with POH and Construction introduced today, I figured now was a great time to join. There were several options I though I could use, but, none worked for various reasons. Ideally, I would like my parents to NOT know I am paying to play Runescape, simply because they already disapprove of me wasting my time, and this would be the icing on the cake. So that pretty much eliminates pay by phone or any option requiring a major credit card. I have more than enough money in a PayPal account, however, since it isn't verified, I am not able to utilize my prefered method. My other option was to use an American Express Gift card I posess, but Jagex doesn't accept American Expresss, so, once again, my way is blocked. My only other choice, then, would be pay by mail. I have never sent money through the mail before, so if someone could enlighten me about this method, it would be much appreciated. To summarize my questions...is there a way use PayPal without it being verified?Or, alternativley, is there a way to get it verified without a major credit card or a bank account? (I tried to verify it using my bank account, but it said someone else has already done so with my bank account, which baffles me). Is there a way my American Express card will work? (Jagex says they do accept gift cards, so I may just have to get a Visa or Mastercard one). And, finally, could someone give me some information about pay by mail? (I live in the US, fyi). Thanks.
  17. Iron ore in the chasm mine is the best place for pure exp...i'm using it right now, infact. The spot with the 3 ores can be rather competitive, but if you find an empty world, you'll get it in no time.
  18. I played rsc...alot of good memories. Like when Rune Pics came out and everyone was trying to buy them, only one person could buy one at a time back then, so, for hours, the dwarven mines were flooded with people. I actually don't think the community in rs2 is as bad as everyone says it is, i mean, sure there are more beggars, scammers, autoers etc, but if you zone them out, its the same runescape community. Rsc was a good game, but it had its limitations, and I would rather have a constantly made better rs2, then a rsc held back by its limitations.
  19. I'd be happy to help you. If you have any questions regarding any new or confusing aspects to the game, feel free to pm me. I am, however, f2p, so once you get members, my knowledge will be limited. My RSN is ShadowSam19.
  20. I'm not sure if I do...the screen says that Jagex will never send any emails (meaning they wont send you something to hotmail, yahoo, aol, etc). However, they WILL send you messages through the message center.
  21. I am not entirely sure of what you are asking...but i'll take a stab at it. Jagex never sends you e-mails, due to safety reasons, so instead, they use something called the message center. When you log in, the welcome screen displays the amount of messages you have from Jagex, which you can read by logging in to the main site. It is true that Jagex will never send you e-mails, but they may indeed send you messages. I hope this helps.
  22. Yes...the pots affect your level, but not your xp
  23. Various monsters drop them, such as Hill Giants and hobgoblins. I would suggest heading down to the hill giant cave, since, more often then not, there are several limpwurt roots already on the ground. If there aren't, then just kill a some hill giants, and you'll get plenty.
  24. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=373132&highlight=safespot+guide I think this is what you're talking about... For future referance, use help and advice.
  25. Do not buy them. I believe they give a marginal prayer bonus, but monks are better, and cheaper (free). Unless your dieing for black robes that give pray bonus, don't bother, since they are useless.
