Theiving Advice/Agility Advice Needed!
ShadowSam19 replied to PumpkinPete112's topic in Help and Advice
For training thieving, I pickpocketed master farmers, since the seeds were great for farming, and when you trap martin in the pig pen, it is quite fast. For agility, I used the arena in brimhaven, which kept my intrest more than other ways would, but I'm sure wasn't teh fastest way. If you do choose the arena, I suggest bringing stuff to hi-alch, so you have something productive to do inbetween ticket respawns. As for the quest xp, you can use this handy guide here -
A fascinating infomercial is the Magic Bullet. It is absolutely hilarious. the product is some super fast/convient blender, and actually informercial itself seemingly has a story line, starting with the blender making breakfast, then having various family members/friends popping into the kitchen to request wierd food, that the blender can magically whip up in seconds. This all culminates with the skeptical grandma coming in, and being proven wrong by the blenders brilliance. All the characters are highly stereotypical, which makes them all the more hilarious. It is actually quite an interesting commercial, which i have watched trhough many times.

for p2p, everyone says experiments, though I personally enjoy pest control, which I suggest joing a pc clan for.

You make the hook with a mithril bar, then use it with a rope and crossbow, I woudl assume. (the only part I know for sure is the mith bar)
-
you can also buy them from the gnome stronghold

once you put the ring on, you will see the ladder in that fenced rea ner the salesman. Go down the ladder, then through the maze until you reach the large room at the end. Run to the middle of the room, and he should appear. Use the tip.it quest guide if you still have questions.

I enjoyed that. Very interesting concept, I eagerly await the next installment.

and to answer your question how to get on the island, there is a cave entrance to the far east of that map, a little below the white fence. As soon as you enter that cave, you reappear on the island.

it is easier to melee for your 50 damage, then use the points on range/mage exp. If you are a high cb lvl, go for the portals, if you are a low cb lvl, protect the void knight. If you insist on using range/mage, then either range the portal from the tower, or mage the spinners near the portal. If you have low range/mage lvl, just protect the knight then.

When I was around lvl 20 combat, a friend of one of my friends said he had found a way into p2p. He said that the fence in the deep wild didn't go all the way west, so we could go around, and we would have accsess to the p2p lands. It seemed perfectly logical to me, when I looked at the world map, so the 3 of us (me, friend, friends friend) walked to the deep wild with, of course, our best gear. Needless to say, the trip ended in disaster when we walked right into the middle of the ice warriors, who caused us to instinctivley flee right into the spiders, who finished us off.

My question is what are rune ore pkers often as? warrior? Most often, it is one or two meleers, 90-100+ cb. Occasionaly, it will be a ranger, and never did I see a solo mager. If theres a group or clan, it is almost always a group of melee/rangers. Is it possible for me to fight off or even pk an attacker with my magic? I don't have much if any pking xp since I stop playing at Feb 2002 and started 4 months ago. I have little pk experience aswell, but i believe it would be a waste of time and space to attempt to fight back, unless it is an easy kill. Otherwise, I suggest you always run. Shadow mentioned wearing full green hide, why wear that? I wear it because it is cheap, light, and fairly versitile. Also u can't tele past lv 20 wild right? Correct. Except for p2p, where it is lvl 30 with certain items. With the bone scepter, can u use it to tele to barb ville? Also correct, once you're past lvl 20 wild. I suppose this item may come in handy, but by the time you get to lvl 20 wild, you can easily run all the way to edgeville anyway. I'll use a lv 3 scout, any details about how to use it effectively? If you can, put it across the lava by going through the maze, since then it will be less likely to die. If you don't do that, make sure you keep it a safe distance away from the rr, otherwise you may respawn near pkers, who may be able to kill you. CookieStealer had a great suggestion about using two scouts, which I find absolutley brilliant, and plan on using in the future. It saves the trouble of having to wait for teh time limit when world hopping, and, if one dies, you can still use your other to finish up the load. Good luck with your mining!

1. 80cb = noob. My cb 106 main owns them all the time 2.lvl3 may slow down progress of mining by 20% since you have to log on 2 accounts per world 3.lvl3 get owned by lava maze often. Just let you know other noob miner use scout there also. they just own each other..lol..and i bet you love the fire blust when you log on. 1. Thats why I use a scout. 2. I believe the extra time is worth not dieing, but thats a personal desicion. 3. Like I said, my scout has only died a few times, and it is quite easy to run from a fellow scout. irregardless, it is up to the starter of this topic to make a desicion, so I suppose we should stop hijacking this thred.

I diagree. I first started rune mining at lvl 80 cb, and using a lvl 3 scout saved me the inconvience of dieing/running countless times, while my scout was only killed a handful of times in total. If keep your scout a safe distance from the rune rocks, you can always log before any damage occurs, or, even better, you can place your scout across the lava outside of the fenced area with the muddy chest, where you can be assured to never die. As for your hourly rates, I agree completely.

Mining rune ore is one of the best ways to make money in f2p. If you use a scout, and some simple tactics, you will NEVER die, and you can get upwards of 200k an hour easily. For gear, I generally bring full green hide, rune pic, and an inventory of food (I use salmon and trout, since i powerfished those). Use a scout to switch worlds and look for ores (preferably a lvl 3), and after I get a load of 20 ores, I bank. As for how long it takes to mine, one load (20 ores) usually takes an hour, or a bit less, depending on how well teh rocks are spawning, so plan for about 5 hours to mine 100 ore. Always try and log if you see a white dot while mining, but if they manage to att you, simply run to the ice plataeu while eating and praying. there, it is single combat so you cna fight ice warriors for protection, and if you simply run into that area, then south, you will have plenty of time to log. I have plenty of experience, so if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Powermining and keeping your sanity--is it possible?
ShadowSam19 replied to yttrium88's topic in Help and Advice
Nope, you can't average 40k per hour, it's simply not possible. You CAN get 40k mining exp in an hour if you manage to get on a full world, have no randoms interrupt you, click perfectly every time you drop your 3 ores, and never have anyone else show up and try to mine your rocks. But a more realistic AVERAGE exp gain is 36k per hour, and that still requires that you do nothing but mine and drop, mine and drop, etc. And, having gone through it, I can tell you - it really, REALLY sucks. I'm sorry, but I beg to differ. If you go out and mine as fast as you can for 10 min, you will most likely get around 7k xp. This works out to an hourly xp rate of 42k, which essentially unreachable. 40k an, however, is perfectly reasonable, if you have the attention span. Like I said, I did it at fairly full worlds, and I didn't get many random events ( a couple dwarfs, some MOM, and a drill demon). At any given hour of powermining, 40k is an acceptable rate, if you're focusing. Once you get into the rythm, you can listen to music and completly forget about your arm moving, which makes the time fly by. If one has trouble maintaining this pace though, then your advice is excellent. I powermined from the mid 70's to 85 mining in a bit more than a week, so I am rather knowledgable on the subject. -
instead of monk robes, wear dhide for mage protecton. Sure it lowers your mage att, but since he is so weak to fire, it doesn't make much of a difference. I did it at a lower mage lvl than you, with only slightly more hp, and managed it easy enough. As for always being frozen, the dhides should help against that aswell.

yes, every once in a while they will refuse to do what you ask of them until you give them their wage, which varies depending on which servant you have.
-
you were correct in changing your pass. Like the previous poster said, Jagex will NEVER e-mail you, but instead use the message center through runescape.com. The e-mail was a scam, attempting to get your password and steal your account. For future reference, delete all suspcious e-mails before even opening them.
-
I used the tip.it quest guide on that part, and I suggest you do the same. Make sure you continuously add coal so the heat builds up, and if you run out, you can go up the mine west of fally near the dark wizards tower to quickly get some more.

Powermining and keeping your sanity--is it possible?
ShadowSam19 replied to yttrium88's topic in Help and Advice
When I powermined I could get an average of 40k exp per hour, at the al kharid mine. I generally used worlds with 1500-1700 people, since the respawn rate was perfect for me to mine 3, then drop 3 and have the rocks be ready again at the perfect moment. As for maintaining sanity, I usually listened to music, or listened to the TV. If I was unable to do that, I would do 10 min of hard mining, then relax and do some slow mining, maybe get the addy and mith, while reading the forums. -
runes (buy from shops, sell in bulk), rune armor, coal, iron, yews, most other raw materials. Generally trimmed armor ain't that great, since the constant increase in supply from TT, and lack of a proportional increase in demand, cause the prices to be in a steady, gradual decline.

stuck on a coordinate clue scroll!!!!!
ShadowSam19 replied to demonworshiper666's topic in Help and Advice
it is in the wild, to the north of the small passage way with the hil giants. You can use tip.it's clue locator to get a more exact location, but it is near the middle of the triangle created by the 3 volcaneos. -
I'm not sure if you're f2p or members, so I'll try and cover them both. For f2p, it would definetly be the crafting guild. As for members, I believe there is some great dwarf place that you gain access to after a quest...might be the "between a rock..." quest, but I'm not sure.
