Guthans are helpful in many things, but they are not really needed in anything. Wouldn't call them the best or most useful item. Also 1 cracker is worth 80-90 full guthans, so which one would be the most important for you? Full Guthan is more important, because a cracker doesn't heal me during slayer tasks. A cracker would just sit in my bank doing nothing.

Slayer should remain a difficult skill to level. If someone wants an "easy" 99 they can go hunting or fletching. That said we should not turn a blind eye to improving slayer. Slayer could be made even more attractive by making special slayer drops that could only be used by people with a certain level of slayer, similar to needing to have slayer 55 to do magic dart. We have the abyssal whip. A wonderful weapon. Although it only drops from lvl 85 slayer monsters, the abyssal demons, a person with slayer lvl 1 can use it. Why not make a high level slayer monster that drops a wonderful piece of equipment that can only be used at a high slayer level. Let's say it drops at 90 and you need slayer 75 to use it. Or you can buy the piece of equipment from any slayer master, like the slayer staff, but can only use it at a certain slayer level. And maybe a quest to unlock it? This will stimulate training slayer. It will also give advantage to people who invest time to train this difficult skill.

Similary I never gotten a dust devil task because I have never done Desert Treasure.

Are you really that clueless? All they have to do is make it so you get less money for alching. Maybe lower yew longs to 500gp ea? So? I will still have 500gp pure profit! YAY! And fletching experience! YAY! (making yew longs) And mining experience! YAY! (Mining pure essence) And woodcutting experience! YAY! (cutting yews) And runecrafting experience! YAY! (crafting nats) you can't nerf high alching. The only thing that can be nerfed is the notion that you have to level with a certain speed or that you have to make money at a certain speed. I seriously doubt that less enjoyment will be derived from alching yews at 500gp each instead of 736gp, or whatever it is (haven't done it for a while). And don't bother calling me clueless in the future. I do not appreciate it.

Alching cannot be nerfed. You can mine ess. You can craft nats. You can alch for free. 100% profit.

How come I always hit a string of zeros on metal drags if they have low magic defense? They don't seem the best target for magic experience in itself, although they sure have some decent drops.

I like runescape because of the poor graphics. I hate it when they do some graphic updates. I preferred the cruder animations. It doesn't need to get flashier. it's strength currently is that it isn't flashy and you can play it anywhere. Once you start pooring in the graphics this will end. And I will stop to play it because I do not really feel that it is necessary to buy the latest computer hardware or console to play a game. Gameplay is everything. Image is nothing.

I'm not really rich. But since I am mostly training slayer I have some backup money, but less than 10 million. I'm sure my stuff is worth more. But that is all for training or from training. I go therefore for experience. And not always with the fastest method. I actually only bought Guthans after I reached 80 slayer! I'm 87 slayer now and I still do not use a cannon for it. I'm sure I could have had more experience and money by now. But runescape is supposed to be a stress reliever. I just want to do things my way.

I was doing abyssal demons for more than a hour already and I was seriously thinking about logging off and going to bed. I thought one more. WHIP! I did 5 more. Another whip! Then I went to bed as a happy man. ----- Did lots of clue scrolls and have been fairly lucky with them. No 3rd age or robin hat, but regularly god armour and my last one (yesterday) contained amongst other things a dark cavalier. It's difficult to get unlucky with clue scrolls if you do plenty of them. Only D drop was with barrows, a D med in the chest. I had otherwise decent success with barrows, got a nice assortment of stuff that was all sold to pay for full guthan. Giving other people luck Gave a rune h helmet to someone who sold me unids recently after I discovered he had given me unids above irits. Randomly give high value items gotten though slayer on top of deals when I think a person is honest and working hard. Died many times, sometimes losing millions in stuff.

They've been dropping herb seeds nicely though. I have been having trouble buying a black mask actually. So I thought I would be smart and go get one myself. It's turning out to be quite a project of love and labour now. I think I will stick with it. It's maybe nicer to work for one. Might change my mind though.

I never bother with asking the farmer to look out for my herb or other seeds. It's easier to just take the losses. don't know if it is faster though.

I train herblore nowadays in conjunction with slayer. I first make a round of herb farming. I then do a slayer assignment or part of it. I do another part of herb farming, or if my slayer task is done I teleport to ardougne. Check the general store for water filled vials. Bank them, go to shilo. Check the general store there for waterfilled vials. Bank them. Ask for a new slayer assignment. Secondaries I buy or collect a bit in between when I get bored with slayer. So far I managed to get 73 herblore but currently it is going a bit slow. The nice thing of slayer tasks is of course that slayer monsters usually drop high level herb seeds. I'm mostly out of them at the moment except toadflax seeds, but they are quite ok for leveling since toad legs are quite easy to get yourself.

1- You don't have to mine tin and copper in varrock, walk to lumbridge to smelt them, and then sell the bronze bars to the general store. You can mine tin and bronze and store them in the varrock bank, and THEN go to al kharid to smelt them. And THEN go to varrock to smith them. #-o 2- You don't have to pass the gate and pay the guards when you walk from varrock to Al Kharid. There is a big hole in the fence on your way there. #-o 3- Do not buy a dagger/med helmet/chain in the general armour/weapon/helmet store once you have enough money, only to buy later again a long sword/full helmet/plate. Once again from the store. Buy from another player. And don't train combat with your rune pickaxe because you can't afford a rune sword. 4- you will get scammed many times. Most note worthy might be when they sell you a broadleaved spear when you purchase a 'full' guthan. Bye bye 6 Million. 5- A day before you get 85 slayer you will die at the greater demons because you are reading the tip it forum and lose part of your guthan and a nice assortment of other expensive stuff. DON'T READ A FORUM! 6. You suck at PKing. You will mostly die. You will forget to turn on protect item most of the times.

The sad thing is of course that they really hurt people with their actions emotionally. Of course you can say it's only pixels, but I can still see the face of my cousin when they password scammed him. He got his account back because I wrote the message to jagex for him, and of course he is more careful now, but people deceived him. And deception is a nasty tool.

I found a high level crafter on the forums who makes glories from your dragon stones. Now I have more then 30 and never have to worry about running out. I use them a lot more nowadays then before for teleing.

I have a PhD in biology and work as a researcher. I mainly play because it is relaxing (well, sometimes it isn't, but mostly it is). I get scammed, I die, I'm not very rich, i do lots of stupid things etc. I merely try to play in a way that entertains me. I like to 'crude' graphics. reminds me of the old days in gaming (obviously I am also not that young). I like the fact that it is cheap. I like the fact I can play it anywhere I want. I like it that I can play the game alone if I want to and do things with other people if I feel like it. Jagex wasn't stupid.

I hit 85 slayer some time ago. I camped out at the demons for a while. A few hundred. I got one whip. Got bored. And I went back to slayer. Yesterday I hit 86 slayer. I think it probably much more profitable to do barrows instead of Demons, but with training slayer you never really lose money. People ask me all the time why I continue to train slayer instead of camping out at the abbies. It's just too boring to kill the same stuff all the time. Maybe if I had been more lucky with whip drops I had a different views but I killed so many and got only 2 so far. That's including the one I got from camping out and the other one I got in all the demon tasks I got going from 85 to 86 slayer, which were quite many.

I used 1800 tokens and ended up with 5 rune defenders.
