I got a job at the start of these holidays and have saved roughly $1000 AUD so far, and im looking to buy a new computer. Im gonna keep my old moniter, keyboard, mouse and speakers, so now i need the rest :P I was looking into a Dell package though I've been told they dont have good graphics cards so im just gonna build one up from the ground (not personaly, id probly kill all the components). I need help with all the parts i need to get, not necessarily brand names, though recomendations would be much appriciated. As i said im on a $1000 budget, and im looking for it to play new games ie: Battlefeild 2 and such. This is what i can think of so far; Power supply/tower thingo Motherboard, no idea on any specifics i need on this CPU, im thinking AMD 2.8ghz or so. RAM, 512mb but there is two types isnt there? DVD drive Network/family card USB ports Universal media reader, those things with the ports for all the flash cards and stuff Hard Drive, 60-80gb. Any recomendations on brands, and if you live in Melbourne, places to buy from, would be great. Thanks :D

Back on topic: i beleave that there is definety other life forms on other planets, whether or not they are anything more than single cell organisimz doesnt matter. Though if theres a chance they are, why wouldnt there be the same chance that there was a species or planets filled with species or galaxys filled with multiple intelligent species that have been around for so long that space travle is like walking to them. There may be a far more advanced species with no interest at all in space travle. Or there might not be anything at all. The Sci-fi fan in me thinks that there is other life though. :P

I've been trying for ages to stop pop ups and flash banners but no programs i get seem to help at all. I also tried making a userContent.css file with some script in it and i dont think i did it write because im still getting he sa,e ads and pop ups. Can someone make some sujestions as to what programs are good, or help me troubleshoot if i've done this file wrong? I saved it in C:\program files\mozilla firefox\chrome\userContent.css and copied it straight from http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/adblock.html Thanks in advance

whats your opinion on thwe American and Australian Idol shows? Personaly i think that they are a load of crap, the people who win it are never the best singers and just the person who everyone likes. Ofcource its gonna be like that but the real talent never win it, in the Australian ones anyway. Not once in the last 2 Australian Idols has the winner been better than the person who came second. Last years Australian one was a compleat flop, neither Casey Donovan or Anthony Calea have done anything notable and i doubt it will be any different with this years winner.

Trivium and Atreyu are great metal bands. Lipgloss and Black by Atreyu and Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr by Trivium are both really great songs. Iron Maiden have awsome lyrics but arnt heavy like todays metal bands.

exactly, how can you even compare those two... The fighting in Iraq isnt against the Iraqi people, its against insurgenst and the main bulk of civilian deths is from those insugents and suicide bombers. Also the Holocaust was deaths in millions... We dont need a 'mass killing' what we need to do is stop believing what the media is saying, think about it, what would sell better. A newspaper headlining "The world will end" or a headline saying "Everything ok". Its all crap on the news anyway.

My freind is teaching himself with a computer program, it shows you what to do and plays it and stuff, really cool. But i cant think of the name right now, ill look it up and tell you when i find out.

i like 'old school' punk, but loath the likes of good charolett (or however its spelt) and The Used. cant be bothered quoting but i agrea compleatly with the thing about emo's. There all just whiny, crossdressing teens who complain about "no one getting me", of cource no one is going to get why you cry for no reason and dress like a trans-gender patient. Gosh, friggin idiot! :P I like anything from soft rock to thrasher, within reason ofcource. Anything in the top 40 is on the most part cruddy, though there are always exeptions.

hmm, i wouldnt say im not compleatly unlike that. For instance if a song is put on a tv ad or, hevan forbid, an Ipod ad i almost imediatly dislike it. Not really by choice but because it gets flogged so much and EVERYone starts humming it and.. grrr. With music i like my own thing, no matter what or who like it. Aslong as the band didnt change there style to become mainstream *cough*Grinspoon*cough* then it doesnt bother me. Good for them, they make good music and all the more power to them.

I ran from the police the other day. i didnt have mt helmet on and i was on my bike, i ran into the train station because i was gonna go home anyways when they came. Supose that law was in and they saw a tall guy with a backpack on sprinting towards a packed train station.. well i could have ended up like that poor sod in London who got pinned to the ground and shot 5 times in the back of the head.
