  1. Hi, I fried my motherboard on my main computer and I don't really want to have to buy a new computer from PC world as i know you get rippe off and the parts they use there are ****. I decided to build my own computer as I have some parts allready. Basically I would like to know if these parts are all compatible and if it is an ok computer! CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-181-AM RAM: Geil 2GB PC 5300 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-034-GL&tool=3 PSU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-019-OC&tool=3 MOBO: Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-144-AS CASE: Antec Super Midi Case http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-049-AN (Things I allready have from old computer) Graphics Card: BFG 7600GTS PCI Express. Sound Card: Soundblaster Audigy 2zs Wireless Card: Netgear 108mbps PCI adapter, WG311T Hard Disk: WD 500GB OS: Windows Vista Ultimate So, will all this stuff fit together and work fine? Any advise woudl be very much apprecited! Thanks.
  2. Good cardio sessions mixed with endurancefull body work outs are the best way to loose weight and tone up.
  3. In regard to somatype (bodytype) there are 3 groups that I am aware of: Ectomorph: somebody who is naturally thin and does not put on muscle easily. Mesomorph: Someone with broadshoulders, who puts on muscle a lot easier. Mesomorph is the typical masculine look. Endomorph: someone who puts on fat very easily. So some people are genetically disposed to put on muscle easily, and some people are geneticaly disposed to put on fat more easily. In regard to 'red' and 'white' muscle. These are different muscle fibre types. White, or 'Fast Twitch' muscle fibres are responsible for fast high intensity activity, such as resistance trainning. Red, or 'Slow Twitch' muscle fibres, are responsible for less intensity activity. You use predominantly more slow twitch muscle fibres when your standing around, using your hams, glutes, quads. They take on a red appearance due to great blood supply.
  4. If people pay more attention because you've got a better looking body, are they really people you want attention from? I know I'm making assumptions here but eh I'll shoot Well if someone says "hey, you look great!" or "hey, you have a nice 6 pack!" that would just make me feel awesome. Plus, I like the challenge and I'm just one of those people that like to look good :) . Sure, it wouldn't completely change me as a person, but it does help boost my self confidence and that helps alot. I used to think the same as you Wakka, and one of the reasons i got into fitness was to look better so that I would feel better about myeself. I know that I look hell of a lot better than i did before working out, my arms are bigger, and i often get complimented on my pecs and general physique. The problem is, it DOES NOT make you feel better. The thing is, is that you'll keep wanting to push yourself further and further, to refine the biceps, or get slicker abs. How you see yourself and how other see you, is completely different. Despite being complimented and stuff, and knowing i look better, i still look in the mirror and see myeself as small.
  5. I've never seen that combination of muscle groups being worked out before. I would advise that you do Chest and Triceps together, your Back and Biceps together. Then have a day doing core exercises and work out your shoulders. If you're trying to build muscle then that is too much cardio. If you want to loose weight and become more lean, then I suggest you do a form of endurance trainning (15+ rep range). What cardio workouts are you doing? There are different forms of working out, that will produce different effects: Endurance trainning: increases muscular endurance by increasing size and numbers of energy producing organelles 'mitochondria'. Hypertrophy trainning: (think Arnold Schwarzenegger (spelling?)) increases the size of the muscle fibres. Strength trainning: increases the strength of muscle fibres, which is why the 'strongest men in the world comps' do not look particularly ripped. Power trainning: develops the CP (creatine phosphate) system, and increases the strength of muscles at speed. I would advise that you stay between Endurance trainning and Hypertrophy. During endurance trainning you will convert more adipose tissue (fat) into lean muscle.
  6. This is exactly right. Firstly body building and track training do not go well together. Serious body builders should only do about one cardio session a week just to get themselves ticking over ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ otherwise you end up burning up muscle your trying to put on. The body burns up different fuels at different intensities: Carbohydrates at very low intensities. Fats at moderate intensities Proteins at higher intensities Which is why its always best to aim for the aerobic training zone whilst doing cardio. Also it sounds like this fella was doing too much. 3 Workouts a week, is about the maximum you should do certainly no more than 4. If you have reached your plateau then you need to bring in some plateau busters. One example would be negatives (eccentric contraction). The muscle lengthens under tension. For example in a bench press you would do a weight slightly more than you can do, and slowly let it down. Make sure your spotted though! What Ambassador has also said about the diet is good. Diet is one of the most important things. If you eat well, you exercise well (I have probably over summarised this last point though)
  7. Protein drinks are a funny one... Basically protein drinks are composed of protein that is a by-product (not in all cases) of the cheese making industry. Some clever clogs have found a way to market it to body builders. Many claim to have 'branched chain amino-acids' and other types of amino acid, which are the building blocks of protein. There are 9 essential amino acids (amino acids we cannot synthesize ourselves, and 11 non-essential amino acids). Protein is used to make muscle. The theory is that if you take on board more protein and amino acids, your body has the building blocks to build up muscle, and you thus build it up more quickly. However due to the way many protein shakes are treated, that is, that they can be heated to dry them out, which effectively denatures the amino acid complexes, so by the time a tub of whey powder is purchased, it is often very different from the starting product. To summarise: ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Traditionally it was disposed of by farmers into animal feeds ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Dried at high temperatures for speed manufacture denatures fragile proteins, rendering them useless ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Sweeteners, colours and flavours are used to improve palatability (these chemicals are bad for the body) ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Often backed by self-funded research ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Inflated prices. Having said this, the theory behind protein drinks is true. It is important that you recognise that protein shakes are supplements and are not used to replace food. If you are going to purchase protein shakes, consider the following: ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Look for cold processed protein powders manufactured below 50 deg c ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ No added sugars, sweeteners, colours, flavours ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Mix with whole organic milk as fats are necessary for protein metabolism.
  8. hi there Wakka. I am a personnal trainer and have had experience with dietary supplements. In particular you mention creatine. When we work out we use up a substance called ATP (adenosine triosphosphate) - which as it is broken down, releases energy. One purpose of creatine is to convert ADP (reduced ATP) back into ATP by donating a phosphate group. This effectively gives us a short burst of energy. We use our creatine phosphate system primarily in power exercises and strength exercises - like a 100 meter sprint or a punch! There is NO scientific evidence to suggest that creatine when taken as a supplement is beneficial to us. Because creatine is required and thus present in such small amounts, taking creatine supplements can actually prevent the body from producing creatine in as large volumes, naturally. There are also other health risks associated with taking creatine as a supplement, one of my colleagues used to take it and reported accute stomach cramps. There is also the high cost. As a personnal trainer, I would NEVER advise a client to take creatine supplements. I believe they do more harm than good (i dont think they do any good) and I honestly believe that most effects you feel off it are a placebo. I therefore advise that you stop taking creatine, and ensure that you concentrate on your diet. If you want any advise on exercise programmes and things like that, I am more than happy to help. Just pm me! sorry for any grammar/spelling mistakes. It is your choice whether or not you want to take Creatine Wakka. But I will inform you that you are not taking it properly! You have to go through phases of loading. I do not know much about this, but i can find out for you.
  9. One of the best ways to scan for Key Loggers or other virus's is to put the computer into safe mode and then run a scan. I have only used norton, so Im not sure if its applicable for other software programmes. Start - Run - (type 'msconfig') - (click on) boot.ini - check '/SAFEBOOT' box, restart computer and when booted up jus run a scan. Takes a bit longer to scan. When your done, jus repeat the process but uncheck the /safeboot box.
  10. Good thing about macs is you can have 2 OS: Mac OS X and Windows XP. Go to the apple website and search for a programme called 'Bootcamp', it'll allow you to install windows xp if your that desperate - so you can swap between the two OS'. Ive had a mac, but I just can't get used to it. i much prefer Win xp.
  11. The amount of 3rd age items per active subcriber declining will have very little effect on the price of 3rd age items. It is the amount of players who can afford the 3rd age items that will influence the prices. I also believe that merchants are blamed consistantly for 'controlling' the prices. It is as much the fault of those who are willing to give merchants the money they are asking for. If the vast majority of people simply refused to pay x for item y, then the price would fall. For example, no one would spend 100m on a pair of ranger boots.
  12. I had no armour, no weapon. All I had on me was some sharks, prayer potions, a knive a tinderbox, that 'unstrung' instrument thing, some super pots. I wonder if it is a bug.
  13. Having killed Koshei the fearless in his 4th form, I was under the impression that I would get the barbarian blade and pass the task. But when I killed him I got the message: Thorvald (or Koshei, I cant remember which) 'walks away in disgust', and it seems as though I have to do the task again. Can anyone help me out on this? Thank you.
  14. 1 green party hat 10 santa hats 11 red masks 1 blue mask
  15. The question really is: Even with more people doing level 3 clues, the "droprate" is still amazingly low. Is it low enough that it cannot "outrun" runescapes ever increasing populace? If this is the case, it will be a chance for everyone to get something LIKE the rares that we currently know, and hence I asked: Has Jagex released more "rares" into the game... Yes I understnad where your coming from. But the thing is, its the peopel who can afford a product that determine the price. All of these new players will not be able to afford these items when they first start playing, and will have little effect on the price of the item.
  16. The number of discontinued items in the game will continue to fall. As people quit, or get banned etc... the price will go up. The numbers of 'rare' items such as the 3rd age items will increase in numbers, and so the price will go down. More people will come into the game, yes, but then more peopel will be doing level 3 clues.
  17. my favourite is deffinately; glucose + oxygen i really dont think i could live without that one!
  18. Got a semi infront of the girl i fancied, then tried to hide it by bending over and saying 'ive pulled a muscle'. The girl next to her said, oohh whats that poking out. Brillliant....
  19. Sorry if I have misinterpreted the information that you have obviously taken a long time to complete. But does the Crystal Crossbow really become profitable, well, cheaper than rune arrows, after the 5th or 4th recharge. Should we not take into account the cost it takes to get to the final recharge?
  20. In the next 10 days, I hope to hit 85 range. I'm level 82 at the moment. Have fun in Ibiza.
  21. I use ITunes becasue not only is it free but its class. just in the options, make sure importing is set to encode into an mp3 format.
  22. http://www.freedownloadmanager.com You don't necessarily get more than one download, but it automates your downloads, so when one finishes, it'll begin another automatically. It is also very easy to use.
  23. Make sure you have a Sextent, one of them Microscope thingys, and a navigation chart. You get them from the observatory. Only when you have those in your inventory, will you get the casket when you dig with a spade.
