  1. ^^ Hard to pick whats better in Rock Bottom, the riff or the solo :D. Also would add Scorpions - The Sails of Charon. You really couldnt go wrong with either.
  2. Its a good thing. Theres far too many overweight kids in grade school (ages 5-10) these days, it just gets worse the older they get. I didnt read the entire thread, but in the majority of the posts i read it seems a lot of you actually underestimate just how bad and how much weight retention soda can actually cause. i remember back seeing cnn about 4 years ago or so and the reporter was doing something on soda and said that the sugers in soda, for just 1 or 2 cans a day, is about the equivalent of 5 lbs a year. so if you could cut out 1 can a day, you'd lose 5 lbs in a year. so a few years ago i made an effort to totally eliminate soda from my diet and see what would happen. i switched to water instead. i use to go through a 2 liter soda in a few days max, usually a day. when i switched to water i'd drink roughly a gallon a day, maybe more. that was the only lifestyle change i made. i didnt change what else i ate, or how often i exercised, or anything like that, and i had some pretty dramatic and staggering results in amount of weight loss (you want more details fire me a pm). i really couldnt believe that soda could have had that much impact but clearly it must have if thats the only variable change.
  3. Myst, if he was banned from gladz way before then why did he still have a forum account about this time last year when i had gladz board access? i think i had access from some time around august-september-october (cant remember which) of 2004 up to whenever BK left (may 05?), and i remember his kill threads cause you'd usually see other gladz post something like, "wtf you idiot they are alliance". and even you must admit, whenever he was finally booted was about 25+ dead people too late. it wasnt some random thing that happened, he deliberately did it and lasted in that clan for a long time. Reasoner, you should be a comedian or something. bk always a top 5 clan? bk a warring clan? come on and quit joking with us . the only time in the last 3.5 years (the time i've been bk) that BK was both a top 5 clan and a waring clan was last summer. the typical ranking for BK had always been between 7ish and 12ish. BK was always a peak and valley clan. we'd rise up at certain times of the year, and then we'd fall back down and drop. though most of us didnt really careabout ranks (i belive we all thought we were #1, otherwise why be there if its not the best to you?), and the ones who did care for ranks and pking and wars usually left (i could spit you out a long list of people who left to go to more pking/war based clans over the years).
  4. I dont know what clan your in these days Erador (i thought you were Jagz but then i seen you with Gladz or The or both, very confusing to me), but surely you should remember someone by the name of M E X I C O? I believe he was also still in gladz even after BK left alliance. That guy was THE BIGGEST bser in the entire alliance. I remember reading Gladz forums and something like half of all the kill pics he'd post were actually alliance members .
  5. drk were you one of them egos? :P i'm going to go in reverse chronological order here. to expand on drks comment to erador over the myth that large masses of "old school" bk left. yes, its true large masses of "old school" bk left...if your definition of old school is quantified in weeks/months and not years. the facts are that we have something like 70-80 (maybe more) who have been in the clan for over 1 year. about half of that 70-80 has been in for over 2+ years. so again, whoever started this myth of "old school" difections didnt really have a clue about our actual members. erador - i believe we quit being allies with zf because there was too much fighting between each other (it was always about 50/50 of those who liked and hated zf). you'd have people like me who go pking with another alliance clan and we run into zf on the trip, well what do i do? do i attack zf and support my other ally i'm pking with, do i just do nothing and let them both battle it out and cause both to question me, what do i do? and what if gladz come pk with us, and we have zf with us? are they going to fight each other and give us a giant headache (the answer is yes). so in the end it just wasnt a viable alliance because of the lack of general support for it and all the associated headaches involved. to the person who said bk is actually weaker than its ever been (reasoner?): did you start playing RS on RS2, or are you just new to the alliance and clans in general? obviously you've never seen/heard/read of the great "pking" prowes bk had as a RS1 clan. a brief synopsis; 15-20 people go out to "pk" (its debatable if they ever actually accomplished it). only 3-4 of this 20 would have any clue what they were doing. some, including myself, didnt understand what the word "catching" meant, so you know theres no way we could actually do it. running, logging, teleporting, etc, was part of a bk pk trip on rs1. it was always more of an adventure and a party, and if we actually killed somebody without any of us dying, OMG we went crazy. but that was a rare occurance, more times than not we were running and logging from those obsessed rs1 pkers. killa - its nice to know that somebody still actually knows and remembers the true definition of "normal" for bk (you must of gone with us rs1 pking eh?). while it would be cool to be some 800 man industructable army, you'd be a fool if you think that is what "normal" bk is, or what bk has been for the last 5+ years. but i guess thats what happens when you have people who've been playing rs for only weeks/months and not years. an my own thoughts on this subject, sure it would have been nice to vote on this decision (though wouldnt of done much good as i had lost net a month before, and wouldnt get net back till almost 2 months after). i remember i was getting real active in pking about this time last year (actually fall/winter 04), i'd pk just about the whole time i was on rs. and when i was online there would be hardly any bk online, so i'd message my contacts in tmrd and gladz (didnt know many/any in the or jagz) and i'd go pk with them. i did this for months, and i did it so often that 75-80% of the time somebody in the group would say, "hey niner, are you in gladz/tmrd (whichever i was with)", no i'm in bk i would respond, and then they'd say, "oh i thought you were in our clan cause i see you so much". i never had or saw problems with tmrd and attacking allies, they were actually more hesitant to attack anybody when they knew somebody was coming. and i never had problems myself with gladz, though i did witness a TON of "bsing" by them. i dont think gladz ever intended to do the bsing (it wasnt just allies, it was gladz recruits/members who got killed too), but they have this trigger-happy syndrome where they attack ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING that moves or appears on the map. they dont bother checking your name, your cape, etc, they just see that something is moving and they'd attack, and usually that something would die pretty quick.
  6. Could be. Or he doesnt want to do more tests incase the second one was a fluke and he's still positive. Go from feeling like nothing to the "luckiest guy in the world" back to nothing again.
  7. You may think its your fault but your just the easy scapegoat. Its really the longsnapper's fault (you cant kick if the ball aint placed right). After him its the 11 guy's that couldnt tackle the TE from a 67 yard screen pass. After that its the QB who threw the interception (sounds like Ayoob at Cal, or old Rattay when he was with the Niners). So really your whole team is to blame. Either way you would have got crushed by Bellevue.
  8. hm really?? :P Maiden's my favorite band too, but i didn't like them as much with Di'anno. but Killers was a pretty sweet album. They had a pretty unique sound with Di'anno, sort of punk metal mix cause of his voice. Xevan, I think Smith is the best Maiden guitarist
  9. Band - Iron Maiden Guitarist(s) - Ritchie Blackmore, Uli Jon Roth, Criss Oliva
  10. I think you are mistaken there, Hammer has sold millions of albums worldwide and was the first hip-hop artist to reach diamond album status. He also recorder some tracks with 2pac, which are yet to be released. While MC Hammer is often used as a joke example of a "one hit wonder" he certainly wasnt one of them. thats why I put 'Maybe?' I wasn't sure if he would be considered one or not  Well he had more than 1 popular song. If i remember right "2 Legit 2 Quit" was another and there might of been a third that i cant remember the name of right now . And on Roy Orbison with "Pretty Woman", thats a bit like calling Deep Purple a 1 hit wonder with "Smoke on the Water" even though i dont think it charted :?. From what i found "Black Night" went UK top 3 but thats it for Purple. Anyway, "Smoke..." was far from their best song (not even top 3 on the album it came out on) but everyone and their brother knows that riff even if they may not realize who it is lol. And then they have other wellknown songs for those who are familiar with Purple and those songs would be "Highway Star", "Woman from Tokoyo", "Child in Time" etc
  11. Arc, you better be ready to eat crow :D (*hopes he aint wrong*). I honestly think that if the Warriors can make about the 6th or 3rd seed and can avoid San Antionio till the Conference Finals that they would have a decent shot at the title . Its been over 30 years but hey anything is possible right? As long as they stay healthy and gell as a team (and improve on the team D) they have one of the best rosters in the league. They may not be in the Championship Tier 1 with the San Antionio's and Miami's but their right near the top of Tier 2. And i agree with you on Miami. If the Lakers couldnt do it when they had 4 Hall of Famers in the starting line up and one of the best Coaches of all time, how can Miami do it? On paper Miami may have a deeper roster but a lot of their players are injury prone (Morning, Shaq :() and they got quite a few show off ball hogs (JWilliams, Walker).
  12. The last Warrior game I went to was fan appreciation night (i think it was) vs San Antonio in that lockout season. Warriors played them though for 3 quarters but as we know basketball is a 4 quarter game.
  13. Here in the States i've read about these "English" preschools (age 3-5?) that teach the kids French and/or Spanish and maybe a few other languages as well. I imagine the cost is quite high (never found what it was) but i like the idea. One article i read said that we're more adept to learning other languages at younger ages, so this type of thing makes sense. Imagine having a bi or tri-lingual toddler running around the house  I've been studying German lately and I find it quite hysterical when my mind is thinking in German naturally instead of English. Example, i was asking someone how much they paid for something on RS and they told me how much each and how many but not the total price. I found myself wanting to scream "alles zusammen!!!" (all together!) at them lol. Even when i go around town i have similar experiances where i'm still in Deutsch mode and havent switched to English. We human beings are limited by how well we can communicate with others. Learning a language means that you are now able to converse with that many more people. Plus you can make your friends jelous by calling them names when they dont understand (always a good thing).
  14. GSW Before the Baron trade - 21 wins to 41 loses GSW After the Baron trade - 18 wins to 10 loses GSW last 17 games of the season - 13 wins to 4 loses
  15. Heaven and Hell, and Mob Rules are great :D
  16. You've summed up the entire basketball season in 7 words.. Amen. Been dormant for a decade but we're back. About 30 years now since they won the championship too? Michael Pietrus from Golden State has a chance to be an excellent player if he can get the time. Right now hes behind SG Richardson (better scorer) and SF Dunleavy (better overal player? :?). Hes almost as athletic as Richardson but is a much better defender. Just needs to improve his shot and decision making (plays reckless at times). Hakim Warrick, if he can get some PT in Memphis, should be an interesting player to watch. He'll be a decent shot blocker if nothing else Ben Gordan and Luol Deng in Chicago, star college players that should have the athleticismn to do well in the pros. Gordon won the 6th man last year didnt he? Andrea Igoudala in Philly has a chance to be a Vince Carter type player if Iverson can get him the ball. No reason why they shouldnt be running the court and Iverson lobbing the ball up to Igoudala for dunks like Kidd used to do with Martin. Channing Frye, stiff. I remember him during his first few years at Arizona and he didnt impress at all. I dont see what Isiah sees in this guy. I think he lacks the athleticismn of guys like Warick and no way in the world hes got the fundamentals to comensate like Duncan does. I'll be surpsied if hes any better than a guy like Erik Dampier.
  17. Ya thats a good album. 24 hours, Prelude to Madness, Hall of the Mountain King, Legions, Price You Pay, etc. You should look into Gutter Ballet, Streets, and Edge of Thorns albums. They may not be as metal as HOTMK (Streets especially) but that doesnt make it bad.
  18. Woah. Everyone's listing large lists, and I don't wanna feel left out. In no specific order; Jefferson Airplane Black Sabbath The Doors Iron Maiden Accept KISS AC/DC Some Jefferson Starship. Mostly earlier stuff by them. Bon Jovi Judas Priest Cream Motley Crue DIO Led Zeppelin Guns 'N Roses Twisted Sister The Beatles Savatage The Who The Guess Who Queen Prism Rush That's all I can list right now, but you probably get the idea. ;P Firstly, i'd like to acknowledge all the people will Iron Maiden avatars :D. Secondly, I thought i was the only one who liked (or even heard) of Savatage lol. Criss Oliva has got to be one of the most underrated guitar players i've ever heard. Now for my list Iron Maiden Savatage Thin Lizzy Deep Purple Blackmore's Rainbow Scorpions UFO Blind Guardian Uli Jon Roth (master of the Sky Guitar) Helloween Joe Satriani ACDC Queensryche (see/hear "Operation: Mindcrime") Liquid Tension Experiment Pink Floyd Probably forgetting a few but oh well
  19. But calling it Handball would confuse all those who support Handball. Anyway considering the post was started by mentioning the Chargers (an NFL side) it would actually be insane to think it was about the English Premiership. Also when American Football was invented (and named) the forward pass was just about non existant. Back then the game wasnt that far from something like Rugby. Usually consisted of running plays and then kicking. You'd maybe have 5-10 pass plays in an entire game. That all changed back in the 1940s though as the pass started to become more of a focal point for some teams (not all). Now its the dominant way to move the ball. Oh and if you cant tell by my nick, I support the San Francisco 49ers. First Place 1-0 :D
  20. i just looked and found three mp3 sound files (2 bruce and 1 sharon) from that ozzfest on the iron maiden forum. their all about 1 minute long. pm me if you want a direct link to the thread as i'm not sure if i can post that or not :?
  21. I cant believe i thought of spending the $100+ for a ticket to see Ozzfest (would have gone for maiden only). I'll never spend a dime on anything connected to Sharon or Black Label Society from this day forth. The nerve to insult and treat Maiden and Bruce that way, its unforgiveable. They (maiden) have more talent and credibility than ANY of those ozzfest bands. They never should have went on that tour in the first place. Its a real shame they got treated that way. I can only hope that it will spark Maiden fest here in the USA, where they can tour with full 2 hour or more sets and none of this 1 hour garbage. Though when i read that concert review, there isnt anything i wouldnt give up to have been there to witness it. I'm sure Maiden put on one hell of a show. I can only hope someone got it on audio (or video) and puts it up on the net somewhere. About Ozzy, i'm sure he is so druged up he doesnt have a clue whats going on. He's really just a puppet for the rest of those gold diggers. A person in his condition shouldnt be on a television show or even out touring. But you know if theres $$$ to made Sharon will do it. And whats this flag deal? I mean who really cares if hes waving the union jack. Its tradition when they perform that song that Bruce goes around with that flag, hes done it over 20+ years now. If i'm not mistaken, the lyrical content even deals with a british war/battle? Ozzy and Sharon are british arent they? Iommi, Ward, Butler, and even the whole Maiden crew is all british arent they? So whats the big deal here? I can only imagine some fake patriotism on the part of Sharon or perhaps something to do with Sharon and Co having the US Army recruiters at Ozzfest. Maybe she gets a bonus if they sign up X amount of people  (its probably true $$$ :?)
  22. Michael > Rudolf Ya but dont forget about old Uli Roth either :)
  23. i've never thought the hendrix one was about guitar playing, thought it had more to do with hard rock? i know that was the one living colour had/has to deal with (all black hard rock/metal band).
  24. Hey Ladydeath, i like the blues just as much as the next guy but you got to be in a certain mood for it. Its just not the same otherwise IMO. SRV, Robert Johnson, Albert King, BB King, thats probably just the most wellknown. A real list might go on forever. Now about Vai, you say the strings are responsible for his speed? Well if thats the case then why doesnt every guitar player on the planet use the same strings and be faster than him? I'm not the biggest fan of his but i know he is certainly an above average player
  25. Did you go catch a game at Wrigley Field?
