  1. The trend has been, seemingly since this mini-game was released, to ALWAYS have two healers at wave 9 or 10, and many people think that this is the only way these waves can be completed. I'm here to debunk that theory. The two healer method DOES have its advantages. For one, you can task one healer to killing the Penance Healers and the other to keeping people alive. Also, there's the fact that it makes it far easier to keep everyone alive when you have two people healing. However, the drawbacks are that healer is one of the easiest jobs to complete if your team is competent, and tasking a second person onto it often leaves one or both people having nothing to do for long stretches, especially if either one of them is higher level. Personally, my method of choice is always the two attacker method - the attackers have the most mobs to deal with, so putting a second person there can usually help finish things up quickly - vital on wave 10. Also, the faster that their mobs die out, the better, since they're the only ones that can really dish out damage. The problem with that is that attackers generally take far more damage than anyone else, so a single healer is kept VERY busy - I speak from experience. If your healer is a higher level, however, that dilemma is partially resolved in that he doesn't have to follow the attacker around emptying his entire vial just to heal 40 hit points (if you're not aware, healers heal 35 at level 5). A higher-level healer can heal the attackers, poison 3-4 healers, heal anyone who needs healing, refill, and repeat. And once the attackers kill off the rangers, the healer's task becomes MUCH easier, and he can finish off the straggling healers. Another method that holds some merit is the two defender method. This method is especially useful if your defenders have trouble - which is understandable, as defending is one of the hardest things to do. Advantages include finishing up the runners much quicker, leading to increased points for everyone and more time to heal up on wave 10. Of course, for every upside there's a downside - without a second attacker, the damage mobs take much longer to die, and without a second healer your team is going to get beat up. Either way, all I'm trying to say is that the two healer method is NOT the only way to finish Barbarian Assault - in my opinion, it holds less merit than the two attacker method, especially with a high level healer.
  2. Oh, mine would be an EXORBITANTLY high number for my total of only 1367. Why? Because I sit in the bank for HOURS and just shoot the breeze with friends. ...And that's why I'm 89 cmb and 1367 total after 4 years...
  3. Regardless, I still hold that insulting someone based on the way they choose to PLAY the GAME is completely idiotic. If you want to think that getting 99 FM is nooby, then fine. But fall back on the old "If you ain't got nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all." Insulting someone because their style of playing is different than your own is just childish. Also, even skills that can be bought require time to get the money. 99 cook may be just as hard to get as 99 fishing, because you have to get the money to afford 99 cook from somewhere.
  4. Frankly, people have no right to insult you no matter what skillcape you get. It's as simple as this: "You don't have to blow out my candle to make yours glow more brightly." What I mean by that is, how does insulting someone because you disagree with their choice of skilling make you any better than them? It doesn't, so shut the hell up and move on. On top of that, just because everyone else does it doesn't make it any less of an accomplishment when someone actually gets it.
  5. I'm just mad that I got muted for telling some noob to shut the hell up. I mean, come on! He was following me around for 20 minutes asking "how do i get staff" and I told him "go out and train" over 9000 times, and he wouldn't go away, he was like "but i need it" and I was like "All you need to do is shut the hell up, bro, and go train moar." Bah. Noob had it coming.
  6. I disagree. I think that if meleers couldn't wear dhide, mage would be WAY OP. Mage can hit through black dhide, and all it takes is once per 15 seconds if you're using barrage. Now, if you're using barrage, I think once per 15 seconds is a strong possibility. Also, meleers using dhide requires them to train ranged... why not, as a mage, train melee and get a zgs, freeze them, then stand back and farcast, since dhide is weak against slash? A pure meleer vs a pure mager won't be ABLE to use dhide, so that's not really the issue. I think you just need to de-purify or you will get pwnt. Melee without dragonhide is screwed, whereas with dragonhide melee has some chance to hit.
  7. That's.... interesting. So you noticed it today? Was it there every time you logged in?
  8. I really disagree with this article, or at least the viewpoint. It puts merchants in a really bad light, when in actuality without the merchants gold wouldn't flow through the economy NEARLY as fast. They're like people in the real world who simply use the stock market to make money. Of course, I used to respect them a lot more when they had to work a lot harder, but now it requires a different kind of skill (no more buying item X and reselling for 100k more within a couple seconds). Price manipulation isn't wrong, either. It's simply good business.
  9. My first 1M? Flax. Lots and lots of flax. Needed money and crafting levels, so flax seemed like the way to go. It got me a whip, so I guess it was worth it :D
  10. Hi, With the new update to quest points, you now need 176 instead of 175 QP to get into the portal for the final fight. Screenshot:
  11. Here's what my day consisted of BEFORE the update: -Log on -Check my bank, see if anything needs selling -Sell items that need selling (for a nice profit) -Buy anything that I need to buy (hopefully at a low price) -Teleport to Edgeville, do a little PKing -Come back to the bank with my loot, or sit in Falador and cry -Sell my loot, take the money to the duel arena to do a bit of staking -Whine because I just lost 200k to that stupid pure. Darn you, oo0OO00o0! -Decide I'll get that durn pure next time. -Check my quest log, decide I'm too lazy to do quests at this point. -Talk to my n00b friends, make sure they're all equipped in the best armor I can afford to buy them -Talk to my high level friends, beg for a while, get free items -Help my friend get some cash by letting him run nature runes for me -Help other friends reach 99 fletching by buying logs and bowstrings and letting them fletch for me Now, update does this... (X - can't do this anymore) -Log on -Check my bank, see if anything needs selling XSell items that need selling (for a nice profit) No more profit here... XBuy anything that I need to buy (hopefully at a low price) Can't find bargains anymore. XTeleport to Edgeville, do a little PKing Pking is dead. XCome back to the bank with my loot, or sit in Falador and cry No more banking your kills, either. XSell my loot, take the money to the duel arena to do a bit of staking Guess what, no more loot, no more good selling, no more staking. XWhine because I just lost 200k to that stupid pure. Darn you, oo0OO00o0! Pure won't get my stuff anymore. XDecide I'll get that durn pure next time. That pure dun quit RS. -Check my quest log, decide I'm too lazy to do quests at this point. XTalk to my n00b friends, make sure they're all equipped in the best armor I can afford to buy them No more giving my rune kills to my friends. XTalk to my high level friends, beg for a while, get free items What? I'm a noob at heart <3 XHelp my friend get some cash by letting him run nature runes for me Guess what? Can't let anyone run anymore. XHelp other friends reach 99 fletching by buying logs and bowstrings and letting them fletch for me 30k exp is nothing at high levels, and I can't let them have the stuff to fletch for me now. So, now my day consists of: -Log on -Check my bank, see if anything needs selling -Check my quest log, decide I'm too lazy to do quests at this point.
  12. Even though it's a multicombat area where you fight the terrorbirds, if you're attacking one of them, the others won't bother you. Might be a glitch, though.
  13. The definition of "Honor", and how PKers have twisted it to fit their needs... It is not dishonorable to run from a fight that you can't win. Remember, discretion is the better part of valor. Dishonorable is attacking someone who's back is turned, which, to be honest, you can't turn your back in the wilderness unless you go AFK, since you can see the other people around you on screen or on the minimap. And since noone else can see if you go AFK, this makes you a target. Remember: EVERYONE is a potential enemy. Do you know what else, though? Dishonorable is attacking people who are attempting to complete a quest (Family crest, that other one that you have to do in Morytania....) who are in no way prepared for PKers, and would drop nothing of use to PKers. Dishonorable is attacking people trying to earn the already-hard living of chaos runes. Dishonorable is attacking the runecrafters running through the abyss. Dishonorable is attacking people at green dragons who will probably drop nothing but food and dragonhide, which they have to kill for a while to get. Dishonorable is attacking people who are trying to charge their god staves at the mage bank. Dishonorable is attacking someone who is so close to completing a level 3 clue and has to dig in the wilderness. In short, dishonorable is attacking one who isn't a PKer and has no intentions of attacking you or anyone else while in the wilderness. I'm not saying you can't do it. I'm not saying you should stop doing it. I'm merely saying that it is dishonorable. That doesn't excuse them from being unprepared, but, in turn, them being unprepared isn't an excuse to kill them. It's sick and wrong, but it's a sick world.
  14. Here's my argument to your argument. You CLAIM that mining is easy. What about for people who are starting off? What about people who can NEVER get any ore because people always hog the iron rocks for "powertraining"? Does it really seem fair? Plus, people don't always share the rocks in the guild. IE sometimes when you're mining on one rock people with higher mining will deliberately come and take that rock, walk away, and occasionaly insult you. It shouldn't be like this. RuneScape should be fun, not a chore. Training should be something you enjoy doing, not a time to hope and pray you're alone so you don't have to compete with people for the rocks. It's not right.
  15. I agree. Pures are noobs... Sure, in clan PKing where they never have to get hit they're good, but clan PKIng is the most noobish thing you can do in RuneScape. But it normal PKing, they suck. If they ever get 1v1 with anybody with actual DEF, they lose. Staking, they suck unless they check "no prayer" and block off all the armor. Even when they don't check the prayer box they say "omgpraynoob!" when you pray against them, because you trained a stat they don't want to train, and having a HIGHER stat makes you a noob. Right. (Yeah, I HAAAAAAATE anyone who says that prayer makes you a noob, but this isn't the time for that.) That's just my thoughts though.
  16. It's really good, but you're forgetting one key factor.... Mage longs are a huge factor in introducing money. Mage longs introduce 1536 gp per alch. I alched 600 of them myself yesterday ^.^ But yew longs only introduce 768. Quite a few people have high enough fletching to make mage longbows, and those who don't usually know someone who will fletch them for free. So mage longbows would also have a huge impact on the RuneScape economy.
  17. To the guy above me, "breifs" are tighty-whiteys, even us American people know that, and "boxers" are the kind of underpants that are like shorts, but different. Now, onward to the article! I beleive that Jagex has every right to ask the fansites not to post the guide. It's perfectly acceptable, I've played games where they ban the use of all gudes for all quests. However... The manner that they used to ask the fansites not to post it is unacceptable. You'd think they could be a little more professional, maybe e-mail some people who run the fansites, but no. They have to contact them in game. This is totally unprofessional. I mean, they're a professional company. Maybe they thought this was the best way, but... I don't know. All I know is I'm a little ticked off about this, why Jagex can't get their act together and be a little more professional about things.
