  1. It obviously has nothing to do with stats, but I do think looks affect it. Granted I bought my phat while it was still under 100k, but I keep it because I like the way it looks (in the bank/inventory -- in RS2 it doesn't look very good on my char).
  2. Because on high detail my computer is generally unhappy. Probably because I multitask so much.
  3. Probably my blue phat for 70k... And I thought I overpaid.
  4. I play while doing schoolwork (that doesn't involve reading). So it depends how much schoolwork I have.
  5. I'd have to go with my green or blue phat, but I never wear them 'cause I've only got one of each and am afraid of losing them and it's annoying to have to put another item in the bank as a placeholder. Plus they look ugly imho once they're on your head. I like wearing my santa though. :)
  6. So this isn't totally my mistake, but I gave my sister 2 santas and she has since forgotten the password to her account and can no longer access it. :wall:
  7. I just had to post this because I read it and immediately thought of the Pirate's Treasure quest. :P http://today.reuters.com/news/articlene ... ml&src=rss
  8. I heart Six Flags. There's one (Six Flags Great Adventure) less than an hour from me, and if I'm lucky I can get a season pass for $40. And when you walk into the park with nothing but a season pass and your car key, you really don't end up spending much money. I haven't been many other places but it has awesome roller coasters - Kingda Ka, Nitro, El Toro, Medusa, Superman, Batman, and a few others.
  9. My picture actually came out really well. :) If only my student ID card looked that great. And I'm fortunate enough to live within biking distance of the DMV, so I really haven't had any terrible experiences. Long wait? I just go and bike around for a bit. The longest I've had to wait is like 20 minutes anyway.

    omg college

I say don't worry too much about it so long as you remember to take the SATs. My parents forced me to apply to colleges at the beginning of senior year, but I didn't really start thinking about them until April when I had to decide which one to accept. And hey, I'm at an Ivy League now...
  11. No email yet but I got a cryptex in the mail.
  12. Thanks! :D I'll check it out.
  13. Is there any site or something where I can see what all the hats/clothing look like? I want to do some window shopping so I can buy a new outfit for my character. :P
  14. If you lose the zombie clothes, do you have to wait until the event occurs again to get them back?
  15. I've only been to a couple theme parks, so my views are very limited... But here's my top 10, all from the same park (Six Flags Great Adventure): 1) Kingda Ka 2) Nitro 3) Medusa 4) Batman 5) Superman 6) The Scream Machine 7) The Chiller 8) Congo Rapids 9) Chaos 10) This other ride whose name I always forget. All but the last 3 are big coasters... Roller coasters are the best. Especially sitting in the front row :D
  16. My parents are picking up most of the tab and I plan to pay them back in the future. They have about $60000 saved up for me but that'll only cover a year and a half. They made me take out some student loans and they're paying for the rest. Most people I know don't really have financial problems between financial aid from the school and parental contributions.
  17. I think some of it depends on the course/professor. Intro level courses only skim the surface, but by the time you start writing your jps and senior thesis, you're going to be lookng at topics pretty in-depth. Ooh, and this just came to mind... One thing I love about college: being able to go to class for an hour, come back, and take a nap. :)
  18. I'm currently a freshman/ rising sophomore and I speak only from my own experience so far... Books will probably cost you a few hundred dollars per semester. If you can borrow them from a friend or buy them used, I'd recommend that. This past semester I spent $200 on books instead of the $500 I would've spent had I bought everything at list price. Most people eat in the dining hall. Our school forces you to have a dining contract freshman and sophomore year. If you're on a city campus, public transportation should be sufficient. You're going to be there for a good chunk of time, so getting another bus pass shouldn't be too much of a problem. If you're not on a city campus, most times you really don't need to go off campus. I don't miss my car at all. Don't worry too much about it. Classes might be harder, but keep in mind that they're harder for everyone. 3 hours of reading per lecture is about right, but lecture is only twice a week. As far as getting a zero for poor grammar... that's a pretty big exaggeration. A college wouldn't have accepted you if it didn't think you'd be able to handle its workload. It'll take a bit of adjustment, but I'm sure you'll be fine. :) All in all, college is a lot of fun. =] Take classes seriously but don't worry about it too much -- at least, not until you're on campus. And make sure to try new things. There's so many opportunities, try to take advantage of them. In the meantime, do research/visit the colleges that you're seriously considering before you make your final decision. And relax!
  19. So I haven't been around in a while... Anyone care to give me a brief explanation about whips?

    Prom!

At my prom, the real reason to go is to go to the school sponsored after party Seniors that attend school here will walk out with over $100 in prizes and gifts (tv's, minifridges, college stuff), Juniors will usually get around 40 bucks worth of stuff, and dates that don't go to school here get around 20 bucks worth of stuff in prizes  That'd be a pretty good reason to go. At my school, it was $90+ a head (and even at that price it didn't cover the cost of prom) with nothing of the sort.
  21. I tried to be self-sufficient... but then I got to the point where I could wield mith and couldn't smith it. I've bought a bunch of things here and there (ex: party hats, santa hats, rune full, etc.) but when it comes to materials needed to raise skills, I'm pretty self-sufficient.

    Prom!

I didn't go to prom, and I'm so glad I didn't. Somehow, $100 for a ticket and then a dress, limo, etc. just didn't seem worth it to me. Quite frankly, it just didn't appeal to me much at all. Fortunately for me, my absence from prom led to one of the best days I've had in a long time. It was definitely one of the better decisions I made. But if you think you might enjoy yourself, go for it.
  23. I second that. While I didn't take college apps seriously and it turned out alright for me, in retrospect, I wish I visited more colleges. I'm perfectly happy with my current school, but if I hadn't gotten into this one, I would've been completely lost. At my university, we're required to live on campus freshman and sophomore year. I currently have a roommate. She wants a single next year which makes me sad because I like to have roommates/suitemates. I live in a suite with a common room, so our 10'x15' space is really only used for storage and sleeping. It's really not that bad.
  24. I drive a cruddy Chevy Malibu that doesn't like me very much... so I prefer my bike. :)
  25. Congrats on all your college acceptances! Good luck choosing one. :) I remember going through this last year and getting an acceptance letter on April 1st. My dad called me to tell me and I thought it was a joke. :P And as far as West Point, I remember seeing it as the most selective school according to the Princeton Review, but that was a couple years ago. I have major respect for anyone who goes there. I considered applying there at some point, but now I can't imagine being in college without the whole college experience.
