Its the few vocal noobs that ruin your reputation, just like some "evil" breeds of dogs that are labled "man eater" like pit bulls. I blame the few f2ps wanting more because they usualy dont look at a thing called the archives on the main page so they never see all the f2p updates from the past. Granted it is only a few so its not much but I feel it is about what they deserve because I think 99% of the member population started in f2p or atleast saw a friend play.

if you think all the updates are so stupid and useless why don't you just stop playing? Well i personaly think about 70% of the updates are useless to me also but that 25% that i do like keeps me playing and their are 5% that i wish never happend (usualy bugs that i hear everywere but by the time i get the time to find try they are gone).

i like the ad idea alot. maby make the adds when you first log into runescape, btw i dont think its scamming because they dont pay for it not to popup. maby even give them a quiz on the adds to prevent drop trading and mass autoing
