  1. mods? admin? could this be implemented?
  2. crafting what? capentry is woodworking and joining. none of the craftable items are from wood, except battlestaffs. carpentry would involve saws, hammers, nails, planks. probably chisel, but its not wood carving, its building stuff. i dont see how it could tie in to crafting i would expect farming to be affected, with people being able to grow their own teak and mohgany trees, plus oak is useful in carpentry. oaks might be the starting type of wood, with higher quality as your level goes up. also, building a house by yourself would be a tremendous task. i would expect houses could be built by a number of people working together. the blast furnace comes to mind. to me, definitely woodcutting and smithing nails. possibly farming. but crafting? cant see the connection
  3. gosh dude! youre growing stuff! plants take long to grow! what the heck you expected? carpentry... hmmm... wierd. how could you possibly put a bed in your back-pack to sell to the shop? the way i see it, theres gonna be a lot of untradeable player-made new items on the positive side, i'd like to be able to make chests anywhere i like that i could deposit items into to go into the bank. woohoo! put a chest in the crafting guild, mining guild, edgeville dungeon.... nah, aint gonna happen... how about the ability to build ships... or dog houses... i like the idea of barricades. that would kick @ss. most likely to level up capentry youll have to be constantly repairing your house from falling apart by using hard-to-find items and materials. i see the demand for mohogany and teak surpassing yews, and lots of noobs heading to brimhaven. perhaps teak tree seeds might start to appear as monster drops. hmmm... i cant figure how this skill could tie into any other skill, except maybe woodcutting and smithing... rune nails, 2k each?
  4. most likely jagex wont do that. you got to remember that the bwannos and the tzhaar demons have no use for coins like civilized humans. its all part of the storyline and keeping with the different cultures. its bad in a way, because it makes getting stuff difficult, but it could be worse. could you imagine the nightmare if the dwarvs and gnomes also took only their own currncy? most of the game npcs accept gold coins, and for logical reasons, but in a way it makes sense that different civilizations have different forms of currency
  5. because its easy to make an auto-fisher. you just stand there in one spot and fish comes to you. i'm sure once in a while everybody switches windows or does something else while their char is on the dock fishing. random event prevent people from getting "free" training exp try fishing in catherby. the spots move in less than a minute lots of times, even though the other random events are not as common.
  6. so we could play music for the strippers to dance to! neat!
  7. can you guys please put in the option to make the forum replies in a printer friendly version? sometimes its a lot easier to print out stuff to read later. and a lot of useful info and tips ppl post that i like to save for refernce. thanks
  8. mages dont go with plate, legs and helm. mages wear robes and cloaks and hoods. in fact, metal works against a mage's abilities. as for elemental clothes, i would think maybe something like a tiara, that would give you no defense boost but unlimited number of that kind of rune. or maybe an elemental amulet. but definitely not warrior armor
  9. well, ahrim's gear makes you lose strength levels temporarily. but i agree that this axe owns both mages and rangers. and since you can wield it at level 1 attack, its a huge unbalance for the pk triangle
  10. triplets, i suppose it could work like bind, snare, entangle. the higher the heal spell, the more damage it restores. no single cast would heal you completely. say the lowest level spell would heal you for 3-4 hp, the mid-level spell heals for 6-7 and the high level spell would heal for 8-10. eating would still be the fastest way to restore hp, but the advantage of healing would be for supporting friends that are taking damage, such as when fighting a strong monster. also, it could work like teleport spells, where you cant use it at a certain level in the wilderness the thing is, not everything in runescape revolves around pkilling, and not every suggestion has to be viewed as giving an advantage to one pk type over the other. no matter what fighting style you use, you can tele, alch or enchant once you have the runes and the level. i dont think such a spell would make any pk type have a greater advantage
  11. they are "rare drops" because they are rare drops
  12. blah qwerty. your 6 finalists were people that said how nice they were to newbies and that they were al good people. not bad. nice contest. i'm not complaining because i was honest in that 10m is way more than i would want. i would have been much more interested if you were giving 10 prizes of 1 mill each. but it was still cool can i ask who were the final 14?
  13. i think i should have the 10 million gp because i think runescape needs more people like you: people who have more money than they know what to do with. perhaps unfortunately, im not a 14 year old who thinks that having a pumpkin, easter egg, spinach roll and black bead in the bank is important. to me its not. nothing annoys me more than useless expensive items simply for status. and i hate merchanting too. i prefer to high alch 10k steel plates, all mined, smelted and smithed by myself, with nats i craft myself. to me xp is way more important than cash if i did win your money, id buy a cannon, and with the rest id start a clan of hand-picked absolute noobs and train them into a higly effective army. beyond that, there really is nothing to do with that kind of cash, except what your doing: being bored and giving it away...
  14. lmao, wht are you talking about? lots of mmorpgs have healing spells. how is that ruining the game?
  15. i'd like a stocking full of coal plz! because runescapers have been generally whining and behaving badly, it would be cool to have a stocking that can hold a certain number of coal in it (similar to how runecraft pouches work). it would be in the spirit of christmas, and it would be useful!! :D
  16. your right. i forgot about these. not popularly used for healing, but they heal anyway. kinda like a mage version of guthans effect. well i guess they will have to do...
  17. geez ppl. healer wouldnt be exclusive to mages. ANYBODY with the right magic level and runes could cast it, regardless of the weapons and armor you equip. its just like alching or enchanting. anybody can do it if they have the right runes and mage level not only that, but you could cast it on your friends (or on monsters, if you wanted) for team play either in the wild or against npc monsters. the vast majority of spells are attack spells. i think it would be a good idea to have 2 or 3 healing spells as part of the list of mage spells
  18. do you have any examples of 'soul-crushing boringnesses'? if you get bored of doing something, do something else....
  19. this is exactly the point of radom events. dont play away from your computer. random events was introduced to discourage auto-playing macros that could allow somebody to play without being infront their comp. whenever somebody gets killed by a random event because they wernt around to pay attention to their char, jagex pats themselves on the back
  20. nobody said you could no longer use good armor. just like in the desert, nobody is forcing you to wear desert robes. and there are already monsters and areas that are detrimental to your stats without the designated equipment. if you're fighting in a cold area, you are up against both the hazard of the monster, and the risk of freezing. of course you could wear your best armor for monster protection, but the cold would affect you. and of course if you wear your warm gear, you have less protection against the monsters. in either event you have a challenge, and you would have to make a compromise. alternatively, a nice cup of tea, stew, or some other hot liquid meal could offer some cold resistance if youre not wearing fur or wool. its like slayer monsters. wearing earmuffs against a banshee gives you no added protection like a metal helm would, but you protect yourself from the banshee's deafening and weakening effects. its a tradeoff, but it makes the monster more challenging
  21. rangers and warriors dont alch, stun or enchant either.... the point of a ROLE PLAYING GAME is that different characters can play different roles. if youre a ranger or a warrior and you want to alch, stun or enchant, just make sure you have the right runes and mage level. same with healing. i dont see your point
  22. maybe this was discussed before. im pretty sure it was, but i probably missed that. i think this game needs healer spells. nearly every medieval game i have every played that involves magic gives the ability to heal a target (either yourself or another player/monster). of course, the spell's effectiveness could increase with magic level and runes used (nature, body, mind, air, soul perhaps) as well as an anti-posion/cure spell that you could cast. is there any reason why jagex never put this in the game?
  23. i love the idea of strength affecting how much you can carry. the higher your strength, the further you could run carrying something heavy without your energy running low. and the higher your agility, the more frequently you could dodge attacks or fire renge weapons faster (it would be something like dexterity). that would be cool i would like to see more complex weapon and equipment creation, allowing for more customization. like, imagine if when you made a full helm, it didnt automatiaclly have the feathers stuck in them, but you had to add feathers (dyed to any color you chose), to finish your helm, otherwise it would be an "unfinished helm" and you couldnt wear it. or to make a battle axe, you could only make the axe head, and then you'd need to cut a log with a knife/machette to make the handle, then attached them to make the complete axe. i mean, you cant really hammer some bars on an anvil and make a full helm with feather trim or an b axe with a wooden hadle just like that. with items that are made of more than one material, each part should have to be made separately and then assembled. at least with bows and arrows this is the case. it should be this way with everything players could make
  24. first off, im a member so dont get any ideas. and while i totally enjoyed my f2p days (about 3 months before i totally exhausted what could be done in f2p), some of the suggestions could actually be workable maybe there could be a new random event: a "tour guide" that would take a f2p player to a random member area of the world he is in (which is normally off limits to f2p worlds) with a timer (maybe 2 minutes). the player could then run around looking around and fighting whatever is around there for that 2 minutes, but if he killed a monster he could get no member items. so he could kill an ogre to get big bones but no seeds/herbs. and of course, after the time was up he'd be whisked back to wherever he came from this would solve the problem of interfering with member players, since the member areas on f2p worlds are inaccessable and always vacant. and of course the lucky f2per would not be able to do any member skills (like fletching or stuff, since unstrung bows are member items) another idea is if jagex could once in a while open up the gates on the f2p worlds that lead to member areas, like northwest of fally or northeast of varrock. again, no messing up member worlds, just some lucky f2pers get to see new stuff. and of course, at the end of the member time they'd be whisked back to lumby if they remained in the member area of course, im not hoping this happens, and certainly not expecting jagex to really do this, its just a suggestion that probably could work
  25. if its a random event, it should be untradeable. just like frog helmets, forester hats and mime shirts. why would jagex randomly select somebody to give them free stuff that they can sell to some unlucky chap for a few million gp. that would be the repeat of the santa incident. you really think jagex will do that? there will be NO MORE TRADEABLE RARES. got it?
