Eureka! The perfect anti-autoer solution!
this wont really affect autoers at all. all it requires is that the person logs in manually, which they do anyway, then the autoer takes over to actually do the task. this wont do anything to stop autoers. the macros dont log in the char or store the password (only a fool would put that in their autoer program), and once the account is logged in, they cant go about mining, woodcutting, fishing or whatever.

Easier way to and from Al Kharid
there are already lots of easy ways to get to al kharid. for f2p, tele to lumbridge and youre 4 clicks away. for members they gt a lot of alternative ways to get there. in fact, al khraid probably already has more ways to get there than any other town in the game (lumby tele, gnome glider, duel ring, glory tele, carpet to desert) lol its like a transportation hub! a bridge wuld be overkill but i do agree that mines should be easier to get to. woodcutters are the ones that have it easy, with trees never far away from the bank, or the ground, for wood burners, or a knife, for fletchers. mines are in a few and usually hard to get to areas, and hardly ever near a bank, except those that are so crowded you cant get any ores anyway. then you still need to get to a furnace in one of the few locations, then to an anvil in one of the few locations. miners truly get the short end of the stick in this game

56 Rune crafting to 91:A runecrafters log:
vines, i was thinking the same thing. people that can access the lost city are usually mid-level to elites and would have better things to do that run cosmics for 3k a run. what you want is an altar that lots of noobs can get to with no complicated instructions or costs. thats why the law runs are so popular. if there was a way to do deaths or chaos this way.... im a crafter too, got 50 recently and im working on 56 by crafting 12k nats the 'old school way' (walking from junita to altar and back lol). when i make the cash then i might start back using the abyss

RS Chain Reaction?
it wouldnt matter if its multi or not. if everybody stands in line then only the person standing 1 square away from the person that dies wold take damage also everybody would have to be near dead, like uder 12hp. whats the max retribution hits for? castlewars could be a great place to do this

from time to time i check out the chat. its pretty cool, usally dead, but once in a while its fun or a good source of info, advice, and even items or money if you are trading i cant get into the chat today for some reason. is it working as normal or did something change?

Fletching and F2Pers
blah. when i was f2p i totally stopped ranging after level 41. there is absolutely no reason to raise range beyond thet. you dont get better bows or armor, and all you do is hie harder, which is god, but hardly worth it. f2p is really a scaled down verson of p2p, especially in pking. in members you can hit harder in every type of attack, with better weapons, arrows or spells. keeping all 3 attack styles limited in f2p makes sure that the triangle stays balanced other than that, forsakenmage points out the best reasons why fletching is not and should not be a f2p skill. we have no access to arrow heads or flax, and you cause ripples into other skills. the arrow market would be non-existent.

There are Law running world 66. Why not...
cosmic running would be less work for less profit, which would still be fair. of course, most people who do "runs" are low levels with hardly any skills that want money. if you can get to lost city, it means you are at least a level 60 attack, and its a smaller amount of people available to run.

Sandwitch Lady STOPS autoers
i think they do. as far as i know, the freaky forester and drill demon havent been heard of in months (confirm, anyone?). the random events only need a bit of tweaking from time to time. like instead of the dwarf saying the same thing everytime, make hime say some different things randomly. also, more occurances of the insect event or similar undetectable things that attack you. maybe higher level muggers, or a silent evil chicken. also, the events that exists now, like the stange box from the mom, are very good random events that require user attention and cannot be handled by bots. in a way the random events are pretty clever, but not good enough

Sandwitch Lady STOPS autoers
so in other words, if ppl keep saying "fishies be mine! Leave dem fishies!!" we could interupt the autoers? hmmmm..... or "AAARRRGGGHHH!! Flee human!!" for golems....

Does Strength REALLY help your woodcutting?
dude, strength in general is how strong you are. the stronger you are, the harder you can hit with a weapon or tool. it doesnt work that way in runescape, but its not as ridiculous as you make it sound did you know your def level affects damage you get from mage, range and melee attacks? in many other games you have strength, dexterity and intelligence, which affect all your types of attack and defence styles. why wouldnt a stronger person be able to lift more?
-
Does Strength REALLY help your woodcutting?
actually, it would be nice if your strength level affected your wc skill, your mining, and your agility (well how weight affected your energy). in some other rpgs your strength affects the max weight you can carry. realistically, these things would be affected as your strength increased (as well as when your strength decreased, like ahrim's special, etc)

there needs to be more bank space for f2p please reply
phillip, tetsu, toxic: see the post i made about going to f2p with a full bank of members items. the link is in my sig. its in the general p2p section of the forum. you'll never have to worry about limited bank size even if you cancel your membership. its what i did, and i posted a bank pic and full guide explining how its done

guide to going f2p with a full bank (AOW discussion)
nhp, i mentioned rares before. once you take out the last or all of any item you have in your bank YOU CANT PUT IT BACK. youd be stuck with your rare on your char until you sell it, let a friend account hold it, or get members again i have a few items in my bank that i can only have 1 of (forester hat, puppet, holiday hats and scarfs, etc) plus items like silverlight, amulet of ghost speak, and other quest-use items (although i suspect you can get more of some of them). i just never take them out. i dont need to, because its not like i have to use them, and its not like i have to clear out junk to get extra space. there is no point in withdrawing them.

Jagex is unfair with RS classic
lode, before you make assumptions you should wait till you get membership and see if you can get in. from what i understand the restriction is to new accounts that havent been members for the last 6 months. i could be wrong, but i could be right. best thing to do is get members and test it yourself to see if you are really locked out of rsc then feel free to complain about it...

XP or cash per hour?
ive found that the only skills im really comfortable making money from is crafting (and high alching my ammies/dragonhide vambs), fletching (and alching/selling the bows) or smithing (and alching the plates). i find it most rewarding to pretty much get the most exp possible from any skill im working on. i never buy or sell materials. the only things i will sell is stuff i cant possibly get any experience from lately ive been smithing my steel and mith bars into arrow heads instead of plates so i can get some fletching exp and range exp. then, as i kill stuff, i make money buy picking the gp that the monsters drop

guide to going f2p with a full bank (AOW discussion)
i dont think thats possible. theres no option to drop the hats. you can wear them or destroy them. if you could drop them you could ask diango for another one then pick up the one you dropped. but since you cant, then once you withdraw it you cant bank it again. just destroy it when you dont need it and get it back from diango when you do obviously your gameplay will be different. i also have the hats and scarves in my bank, as well as a shade top and my beloved lederhosen hat. but i dont bother to take them out because i cant put them back in, and for all practicality i really have no reason to take them out

A way to help stop autoers?
i think straight bannings are very effective. i suspect many people create newb accounts to auto with because they think they can get away with it. for example, say an auto woodcutter makes a route from draynor bank to the willows and back. after running for about 4 hours and stocked up about 2k-3k logs, the account is banned. the main that owns the account just lost what he though would have been easy profits. if everytime he makes a new account and puts a macro on it, he gets banned and realizes its not working, it will deter him from making accounts with macros. i think the best random event for dealing with autoers is the insect swarm. you cannot detect it until it is attacking you, so you cant log out and you cant fight back. and it will kill you as long as you dont run away. maybe we need to see more swarm-type randoms in the game in areas where autoers are likely to be found (mining guild, draynor, catherby, etc)

suggestions for f2p updates
ok, its an old played out topic, but this is a bit different. i'm tired of hearing ppl begging for updates (new quests, new monsters, etc) but really not being specific about the way they would like it to be implemented. they ask for more bank space, but thats not practical from a business viewpoint. they ask for more quests, but the f2p quests that exist already serve to give you an overview of everything in the f2p world. theres nothing new to cover, so why new quests? 1 thing that could possibly be a sensible update is putting maple trees somewhere on the f2p map. even if its out of the way, like in rimmington or by the body altar, i think it would make sense to have maples in f2p since f2p have the ability to cut maples and burn them logs. its not about making the game easier for f2p, it just makes sense. whats the point of f2p having the ability to cut maples with no trees to cut 1 quest i was hoping for (seemed like an incomlete update) are the 4 elemental mages south of the air altar. they seem to have absolutely no reason for being there, and have no apparent link in the overall story line of the game. it looked to me as though jagex was gonna make a quest about these npcs, then changed their minds but didnt remove them. whats up with that any other suggestions about possible sensible updates for f2p? not ways to make the game easier, but to make it more sensible. (also, if you make a suggestion and somebody disagrees, pls dont take it personally, and feel free to disagree with mine with valid reasons. lets keep the discussion civil pls)

guide to going f2p with a full bank (AOW discussion)
after several comments about my mith sets, i moved it from the combat section and put it in misc. its more of a personal style, plus i smith them and sell full mith, but its not something youll generally need to have for combat. i found thru discussion on other threads that this method is also an excellent way to overcome the problem of limited bank space for f2p players. its possible, and totally legal, to join members for 1 month, and stock up your bank with at least 1 of every single f2p item. you could actually store almost every type of armor from bronze to rune, every type of log, fish, tool, rune, jewelry, material, etc. and it sure beats creating multiple accounts for illegal drop trading just to store more stuff

there needs to be more bank space for f2p please reply
lmao at this dude. on top of starting the horribly played out topic of begging for more bank space for the billionth time, he's calling ppl moron and being ignorant and arrogant. this is EXACTLY the reason why jagex wont take requests like this seriously. listen, the bank space in f2p is limited for a very good reason. its an incentive to join members. jagex knew very well why they made free banks so small. its designed that way. they wont give free players bigger banks because it would be shooting their profits in the foot. why would they give free players one more reason to NOT become a member? who runs a business where they DONT want to make money? think about it next time before you start topics like this. and watch your attititude. it will get you nothing but flames and enemies ok here's a tip. do you really want to access hundreds of items in your bank while being a free player? join members for 1 month, and follow my guide to going f2p with a full bank. you can actually store about 4-5 times the amount of items as f2p, without creating a second account and illegal drop trading. and once you go back to free playing, youll never have to worry about running out of bank space again, as long as you follow the guidelines. check it out

Bury bones on ground // HP status bars // Kill Lists
1 what if theres a bone on the ground and 2 ppl try to bury it at the same time? who gets the exp? the bury bone system is fine the way it is 2 % hp is pointless. you already have a green bar ovr your head that indicates how your health is. plus you can switch to your stats window to see the number of hp you have left, which is much more usefull that a %. showing a precent of your health means nothing, because 50% health for me is a lot more than 50% for a newb. and food doesnt heal a % of your health, neither does a weapon hit you for a %. the hp system is fine the way it is 3 a kill list would be pretty useless and hard to keep track of. the list would pretty much be: monster, number killed. it might be nice to look at it for achievements, but not all that important you probably could also have a kill count, but even that is kinda bogus, since killing chickens or rats would get your kill count up way faster than bigger monsters your hp exp is the best indication of how much killing youve done throughout the game. multiply your hp exp by 3/4, and youll know exactly how much damage youve inflicted in runescape (minus poison, recoil and half cannon damage). as it is, the system is fine the way it is 4 also pointless. there is no need to review your slayer assignments. just as there is no need to review all the clay pots, cut gems, leather gloves and holy symbols youve made for crafting. or the logs youve fletched and bows youve strung. that info is totally useless

guide to going f2p with a full bank (AOW discussion)
lewd, thanks bro. and thank you all that found this guide was informative and useful dbresq, i know what woad leaves are for, but i have no intention of making dies, so i really didnt need to bank them. plus i already did all the f2p quests as i was admiring my pixels that ive spent so many hours acheiving, i decided to count the items with the red dots. i found that i have 126 f2p items i can use!!!!! thats more than twice i would have if i sold everything in my bank! and its possible to have even more! this is a WAAY better alternative than emptying your bank

guide to going f2p with a full bank (AOW discussion)
ok, by request, heres a pic of my bank. it would have been a nightmare to try and sell off this stuff. plus i'm only planning to be f2p for a little while. my major skills are rc, smithing and crafting, so my bank is stocked up accordingly. also its not a perfect example because i dont have the f2p items arranged to the top. i had it sorted this way since members, so i kept the layout since it works for me and i know ehere to find anything. if your bank is NOT organized, putting the f2p items to the top is a good idea the items with the little red dots are f2p useable items remember, this is just to demonstrate having a full bank while in f2p with no problems about bank space. pls no comments or offers on the items (except the mith and big bones hehehe)

guide to going f2p with a full bank (AOW discussion)
i tried to make the checklist comprehensive, but depending on the levels and skills of your character, you would need certain items more than others. not many people are that big on runecrafting or smithing, but might be crafting ammies or holy symbols, etc. so it has to be modified to suit your needs. also, its better to have it in your bank and not need it, than to need it and not have it
