  1. i disagree. first of all, the reason why the report abuse feature exists is because jagex depends on the community to do most of its policing for them. if a mod isnt around, at least a rule breaker can still be possibly brought to justice. second, while a random event usually does the trick of jandling autoers, randoms also harass innocent players, and sometimes at critical times i for one have spoken a lot against reporting. lots of people get banned for nothing because malicious overzealous players report abuse to jagex against people that did nothing wrong, and jagex goes ahead and bans the person anyway with this idea, its like a player triggered random event. you could send it to somebody who you think might be autoing, in a way where they have to respond within a time frame, like a dwarf-type random where 1 click will fix it. if the would-be autoer clicks the npc, then the report isnt sent. however, the report would be sent if the npc doesnt respond. the good thing about it is that it could be taken care of in 1 click, so that it would be hard to abuse. it would take some effort on the sender to send the npc, and if the player is not afk or macroing, a quick click would fix the problem
  2. wow i never knew that. a quick history class, cool! up until the last update with the new quest, you couldnt say "nuts"!! now you can! heheheh
  3. i also think that he was guilty of account sharing and multi-logging and trading between accounts. however, he got banned for MACROING!! dont you guys see that theres something very wrong with jagex's way of handling bans and reports?
  4. team capes are stupid. anybody from the opposing team could change capes and mess up the war. there are well over 100 major runescape clans. there are only 50 team capes. this thread should be petitioning a full clan system for the entire game, so that players can have officially recognised runescape clans. pretty soon people are going to be banned for telling others about their clan because jagex bans advertisers.
  5. what if i do this: i get online with my pure and ask my friend for a loan of, say, 100k. then later, (or immediately after) log on with my main and give my friend 100k. my friend then writes off the loan he lent my pure, and everything is even. i havent traded to my second account, and i didnt transfer money from my main to my pure through my friend. therefore i havent broken any rules anyway, the moral of the story is, drop trading is illegal. dont get caught! dont break the rules. dont get reported. jagex has a soft spot for people who report, and they usually execute their bans with one side of the story, so stay out of the way of noobs that like to report, for a happier gaming experience
  6. i simply scroll down if im on an f2p world. it moves the ads out of the way and i have the full screen to play the game. the rule doesnt bother me, and it shouldnt bother anybody. if the ads are there, then you can click them if you want or ignore them if you want. there are also menu links to the homepage, map, knowledge base, etc. theres no point in needing a program or hack to block ads. just ignore them this rule doesnt bother anybody either way. theres really no need to create a thread to complain about it, and no need to change it. moron, have you thought about what would happen if they DID take your suggestion and remove the ads? that would mean removing f2p. how about that? everybody has to pay $5 a month, nobody has to see ads. ads are a very small price to pay for playing the free version. think about it
  7. even if jagex had some kind of reason for banning him for multiple logging (which is kind of sketchy from the story), it still doesnt explain the bans jason got twice for macroing. its obvious that some report happy noob saw jason alching the first time and reported him. imagine that, jagex wrongfully banning an account based on a word-of-mouth report that they did not verify, then had the audacity to reply that it was one of their "rarist of occassions". yeah right jagex its sad that jagex will immediately respond to somebody that reports a rule breaker without checking the facts themselves so often. i mean, why should they think that the person reporting is even honest? and why should they assume that the reporting person even knows the rules or the facts about the incident. then, after they apologise for wrongfulling banning jason for macroing, they turn around and ban him for macroing again i dont know, chris. maybe you pissed off people and they got revenge by reporting you. its obvious that reporters get more attention from jagex customer support than ban appeals, suggestions, feedback, questions or technical support. that sucks
  8. they probably would. if both accounts were created by the same person, then they might consider it multi-logging, but thats not exactly breaking jagex rules. you could get banned if both accounts are trading items from one to another. thats what you have to watch out for. i would check out the rules page again and try contacting one of the mods just to be sure
  9. i registered on your forum. i have some ideas for a game, but it will be totally different from what you have or are already working on. i dont know how good you are in programming, but making a game anywhere near as complex as runescape seems to sound like a lot of work. how far have you gotten so far?
  10. sigh... its more than a jagex thing. the community is just too report happy and too sensitive and everybody is on eggshells about being offensive. in a game based on player conquests, violence and character development, its sad that jagex is only too pleased to entertain every crybaby that gets their feelings hurt. its not that i think offending others is ok, because its not. but come on people, conflict is what makes runescape a great game. of course somebody is gonna get attacked, backstabbed, jumped, killed and robbed. and of course emotinos are going to fly and tempers are going to raise. and of course theres a good chance that some choice words are going to be said. im not saying that thats the way to go, but still... i like to think about the fantasy world of runescape as a place where knights and mages and rogues roam the land. metal weapons severing heads, spells burning people to a crisp, pickpockets, beer drinking dwarves, expert craftsmen and cooks and smiths and archers. theres a pub and market in nearly every town, beasts that roam the wilderness and dungeons, and loot and treasure to be won instead, runescape is a nursery full of immature babies that constantly whine and beg and cry mommy mommy he took my binky! my suggestion, for people that want to enjoy the game, associate yourself with people that are around your maturity level. and just totally ignore the crybabies. for your own health and sanity sake
  11. Trying to explain my experience would be like trying to explain to someone how salt tastes if they've never tasted it. could you describe this experience? if youve experienced something that convinced you that god exists, maybe somebody else could experience the same thing and get the same results? i'd like to hear it (if you havent already posted it, since i only read the last few posts) to me, all the evidence about the bible, middle eastern history, evolution and man's social development and civilization, says that god was invented as a supernatural explanation for questions man was not intelligent enough to answer. from the simple things like "where does lightning come from?" or "how come these crops grew so well?" or "what happens when people die?". at the time, thousands of years ago, man could not answer theses questions, so they made up stories. god became a popular explanation. as time went on, and political structure started to form, god was used as a political tool, with punishments and rewards to make people behave the way the leaders wanted to today, god is still used as a political tool, but not as openly as the past. and god is still used as the explanation for questions we cant answer yet, but now we have more knowledge, supernatural explanations are not needed. just because we cant answer a question like "where did the universe come from?" doesnt mean that god must exist. just because we dont know all the answers means that there is a supernatural explanation. it could just be that we havent found the answer yet
  12. duke and anime, geez, have a sense of humor for once... to me the biggest lesson in runescape is the results of labor vs business. with a job, you can make money, but its limited to the amount of time you put in, i.e., your hourly rate. if you work irl for $15 an hour, and work 40 hours per week, then your weekly pay is $600. if you want to make more money, you have to work more hours. because hours are limited, your income will be limited with a business, such as rares investment, or hiring workers, you make money based on the size of your workforce (also called leverage), regardless of your personal effort, you still make money. that way you can make money even when you are offline and not limited to the amount of hours you spend this is a very important difference. lots of people leave school and go out into the workforce irl thinking that a good job will make them rich. the fact is that with bills and expenses (unfortunately lacking in runescape), a job just doesnt cut it, which is the sad reality. if people could explore this in runescape, it could actually make them better prepared as business people in the real world, at least with a better perspective of the difference between a job and a business in terms of income
  13. the 1/3 and 2/3 bucket should make no difference to the bucket graphic. just label the bucket as 1/3 or 2/3rds full. in the freminik trials quest theres a part where you have to use a 4/5ths buckets of water, so theres no point in a new graphic
  14. woot!! "nuts" is no longer a censored word!!
  15. i just noticed the change too. the old graphic looked more bucketish. this one looks a bit too modern
  16. nope. still playing TPUM has considered going on a diet
  17. There once was a girl from Antarctica who loved to explore the discount store in the penguin's backyard for some new socks and shoes but she had no money on her so she decided it would make sense to rob the bank. After thinking about it she decided to get some mischief powder to instead make the people eat food and not to watch the bank. The Haunted bank was built by a old man who glanced very quickly at the wris[bleep]cch he wote and he went to a resteurant. He ordered pudding

  20. i pwned your toolshed fire with my hot blonde chick weilding water hose of furious spraying
  21. banned for violating the capslock rule
  22. jwrm, dont you see a difference between drop trading/creating mule accounts and what the mod wrote about? this is not a free license to drop trade. if you give a item to a friend, theres nothing wrong with that. if a froend gives an item to you, theres nothing wrong with that. making an account just for banking items from your main is against the rules anyway, on topic. how far is it ok to go? if i make a female character for the purpose of trying to trick guys into giving me free stuff under the pretense of internet romance, is it wrong? what if a female in real life is a gold digger, and thats what she does, uses her feminine charms to get stuff from guys, is that any worse in runescape than if its a guys acting as a gold digger chick? of course there are loser guys that think they will get some kind of returns for giving expensive items to their online girlfriend. i suppose you could say he is getting an emotional ego boost as a return, and to him thats something of value. particularly young boys and teenagers, who might be h*rny, frustrated and socially lame, the feeling of being thought of and appreciated or even desired, is something they cant put a price on, even if its somebody miles away that they can never meet except in a virtual world, who might actually be a guy! is it wrong to make a young and ignorant youngster feel like an online stud so that he will give you free online game items? the whole situation sounds twisted, but can you fault either one more than the other? and is is a bad thing overall?
  23. yes, actually this does make you a pathetic loser. and if this is your tactic for making friends you better be very rich because you will lose all your money and still never have friends. people will never be your friends for you just giving them free stuff. sure they will be nice to you when they can get stuff, but you will just attract greedy manipulative people who just want to use you for your money and gifts. dont be a pathetic loser, dont give away stuff to buy friends. and its bad enough runescape just being a game. worse if thats your habit in real life
  24. i believe in God with my whole heart also. i believe he died for all of us to save us from our sins gingi mabye this will help you..... say you have a penpal friend. he sends you a letter. i say no way dude he's not real theres no proof. you say but there is its his letter! theres proof of god also; the bible i dunno if this will help you chose what you want to do but i believe in God myself theres something that the letter from your penpal and the bible have in common. the letter by itself is not proof that your penpal exists, and neither is the bible by itself proof that god exists theres a difference between a letter from your penpal miles away, and the bible. other forms of evidence could help to prove the the penpal exists. we could check out the return address and see if the person lives there. we could write letters back and get relevant responses. we could verify that penpal a number of ways. with the bible, none of this is possible. if we cannot verify that the bible was indeed written by god, or look up the return address, or get relevant real-time responses from the author of the bible, then we cant say that the bible is evidence that god exists.
  25. Whos coats and hats were taken by maurice and phil? maurice took phil's hat and serge's coat. phil took serge's hat and johns coat. (and i worked it out myself) for the second question, there are a million reasons ppl commit suicide, so here are my yes or no questions 1. did the piece of wood remind him of his wooden bed that he found his wife with another man in? 2. did the piece of wood remind of his job as a carpenter he go fired from that day? 3. did his horoscope tell him that a piece of wood would make him commit suicide? 4. was he high on crack or some other illegal substance? 5. did the piece of wood hack into his runescape account?
