  1. what do you suggest it be changed to, einstein? this is not a good idea. you cant substitute experience for gp. why not have a arrow or rune npc too. or a monster npc that you can order to kill 400 dragons and bring you rthe drops, or better yet deposit it in your bank for you runescape wont set the game to allow npc's to gather resources for you. they kinda offered something like that in a quest called throne of miscellania, but that turned out horrible, and the prices are ridiculous for the stuff you get. if runescape is gonna do something like that, they need to make miscellania more worthwhile, and then extend it to other aspects of the game
  2. Two HUGE problems are that gambling on a site like this is not aloud and lots of kids (even though you must be 13+) play this and would get a bad example. Also this would increase the inflation because of all the people making money off luck, bugs, autoers and cheaters. oh and also after reading this again i saw that you said stealing from the casino or getting a high theiving level .... people would get 90+ theiving then go there, steal large masses of money from something as great as a money tree then run around with it .....can i smell more INFLATION actually, these are not really solid objections at all. first, duelling is based on pretty much the same idea of putting up your money in hopes of winning big. the only diffence is the outcome depends more on skill than chance, although in lots of duels its the lucky guy that gets the win. second, paying out winnings would NOT increase inflation. it would reduce the amount of money circulating in runescape, or at least absorb some of the increase by acting as an attractive money sink. controlling your character with an autoer will not increase your chances of winning, and what bugs and cheats are you talking about? this point shows your total lack of understanding the topic the only think i agree with you is your objection to thieving, that would defeat the whole purpose. everybody would just thieve some coins, gamble it, and if they lose thieve more. other than that, i think a casino, or better yet a lottery, will be a great runescape idea
  3. theres an auto program that does that?? the update makes it harder and less apealing for autoers to make money in ess mining using bots. do you know whats going to happen to those 40+ accounts that you reported? they will get banned for autoing if found guilty. do you know what happens when jagex bans paying players? they lose some of their residual income. if people are stupid enough to ante up thier $5 and credit card to risk autoing and getting caught on a members world, where their are more mods and what not, then they must be really stupid, and deserve getting banned and losing their money, and jagex should flag their credit cards in case they want to try signing up more accounts in f2p, a single person could set up like 8-10 moob accounts and having them autoing on different computers. do you think people will put up $40 to $50 to try that? plus they would need to get each of them to level 30 minig anyway. just keep reporting them. and rest assured that 40 autoers mining ess in 3 hours is nowhere close to the numbers in f2p worlds
  4. i dont know if you know this, but in january jagex banned over 5000 members that used to auto in rsc. thats cutting their own income by $25000. why wouldnt they ban members? members get banned everyday. just ask them if a member gets caught autoing, he will be banned immediately and no $5 refund. the reason why f2pers auto more is because there is much less risk. an account takes about 15 minutes to get off tutorial island, and 15 minutes to complete rune mysteries quest. in 30 minutes you can create a new account and set him to auto mine ess, for free, with no cost to you with the updaye, you have to create your account and join members, pay $5 and then after gettingto lumbridge you still have to get your mining to 30 before you can get to pure ess mining. this will take over an hour, plus you risk losing your $5 without making a profit, plus having your credit card/paypal account flagged if you want to try that again. the update is a deterent for macroers. if somebody is stupid enough to risk their $5 to go through with this, then tough luck when he gets banned.
  5. clans in runescape dont exist. there are no clan events or clan structure in the game. jagex doesnt care about player-made groups that call themselves clans. so they dont really care what happens to clan wars and so on
  6. if the autoers become members, they will get banned for autoing, and jagex will be banning paying customers, which wont make them any money next time think
  7. a few people mentioned it, but i think everything points to the conclusion that the wise old man is a saradominist. it might be that the wizards tower is either infiltrated by undercover zamorakians, or might be threatened to be attacked again. the wise old man must be keeping an eye on the tower as a guard for the tower. i dont think he will attack the tower. maybe the old man is the counterpart of the zamorakian mage that teleports you into the wilderness i dont understand why he robbed the bank, though..
  8. an xbox so when my character is bored of playing runescape he can play counter strike and halo
  9. Monsters dont have artifical intelligence, when your ranging a fire giant, does he pull out a bow and range back? i suppose you have no idea what artificial intelligence is, so ill just leave this alone
  10. and dont forget the bragging rights!
  11. when you pk a player, you get all the items they are carrying except their 3 most valuable items. or if you skill them when they are skulled, you get everything they have with them, all their armor, runes, ammunition or food. this is very profitable. also, it requires a lot more skill because players are not predictable or static like monsters with artificial intelligence. so you sometimes have to use a variety of tactics to beat another player. this is a lot of fun, and also risky as you might lose the kill or even lose the battle, making it very thrilling
  12. spurious i agree with you 100%. the economy as it is, based on a steady supply by autoers in order to keep prices stable, is bound to collapse at some point. people merchant ess because they can get it cheap from low level ess miners, and sell it at market price to nat crafters. now, because the illegal supply of ess has been disrupted, the market of ess is falling apart
  13. jebbe, why not put the link to your calculator in your sig?
  14. provided they dont get caught. p2p has a lot more mods and security, as well as a wider variety of randoms. its very likely that the ess bots will get caught early before they can even make enough money to cover the month. this is 100's of times less appealing to risk losing real money and have both your account and your credit card (possibly) banned from being used. there will DEFINITELY be much less autoers doing this
  15. if macroers are so bent on continuing to mess up the game for the rest of us, then its probably true that jagex might have to do more segregation. if cutting down the ess autoers means an increase in yew autoers, for example, then its likely that jagex will have to change f2p yews so they can only be burned, making them totally worthless to p2p members who buy yews for fletching. this will totally kill the wc industry. but, its a reaction to the problem of autoers, and jagex reserves the right to do something about it theres a lot of complaining about the negative effects of the update, but nobody is recognizing this as backlash of the autoers and rule breakers. this update was necessary as a pretty effective deterrent to ess mining bot accounts. since a level 3 f2p can mine ess all day within a few minutes of getting off tutorial island, these autoers have no risk and nothing to lose if their noob miner gets banned. having to pay for membership and get 30 in mining takes away the risk-free appeal of autoing. autoers have a lot more to lose. not only that, but members worlds are much more heavily monitored by mods and security scripts, and most autoers that try to ess mine as a member under the new system will be cuaght and banned before they can make back their $5 log in to any f2p world and walk around the forest between lumbridge and draynor. youll see dozens of level 3 accounts in default green shirts and bald heads chopping regular or oak logs and dropping them. just yesterday a spirit tree killed one and i picked up about 20 yew logs. jagex is very intent on deterring rule breakers as of lately (like the last 4-5 months), and it is increasingly apparent that the yew cutters are next in line on the chopping board as far as the economy goes, tough luck. i'm pretty much self sufficient, but im not saying that everybody else should be. but at the same time, yew (or ess) buyers shouldnt have to become dependent on the autoers supplying materials for cheap. depending on autoers to help support the economy is not a good idea, because when jagex yanks them, the economy collapses. yet it is jagex's duty to pull these rule-breakers out, so i dont think anybody has a right to complain at all
  16. you might just want to withdraw the 10k and abandon the dumb island. they made it so that its pointless to keep the country happy, since they will never produce at a reasonable rate for the money you put in. and for all the work you do to actually get your ratings up, you might as well just chop your own maples, mine your own coal, fish for yourself etc
  17. if youre wearing full dhide, then you have access to crandor. great place to train range either on the 2 lessers north of the cave entarnce, or the 3 moss giants south of the island. probably the best spots for range in f2p period
  18. its funny how people are so paranoid about everything. he's talking aout people who have f2p accounts with lots of junk in it, and what can be removed. do you really think anybody would try to sell a bank full of f2p junk on ebay? (i mean, maybe they would, but ... you know what i mean)
  19. if the cost of rares increase at the same rate as the increase in gp, then the rares absorb the effect of inflation, and prices of all other items wont be affected. thats what we mean by rares protect the economy from the EFFECT of inflation. as it is, all money of the super-rich players go into rare purchases. say in 1 week 200 million gp are brought into the ecomony, buy alching, monster drops etc, and in that week 100 blue p hats go up by 2 million each, the rise in the cost of rares absorb the rise in the amount of gp being circulated, and prevent the other items in runescape from going up in price because of the extra gp. i hope it makes sense
  20. so both the rune ess trade on the members side and f2p side will suffer blame the macroers. i cant believe you people are pointing fingers at jagex, knowing fully well when you first created your runecsape accounts that jagex has rules and will do whatever is in their power to enforce their rules. this is a rule enforcement measure. it only came to this because rule breakers were getting away with macroing and real world trading at an alarming rate. blame them
  21. check out the tai bwo wannai village clean up minigame on the tip.it site
  22. yes pure ess is members only. apparently members can get both at the ess rocks, f2p can only get normal ess. if your an f2p player and you have a ton of ess in your bank, it will all be converted to normal ess, unless you have a member account or member items on your f2p account this way ess from f2p worlds can only be used to craft up to body runes, and only pure ess can craft cosmics and up. so nat crafters cant buy ess from f2p players anymore because they cant make nats with normal ess if youre going to be angry about this update, i suggest you focus your rage on the rule-breaking macroers that cause jagex to do this, dont be mad at jagex
  23. if the ess in f2p account banks were changed to normal ess, then this wouldnt be unfair, because f2pers could still use the ess to craft their own runes or sell to f2p players or members that want cheap ess for low level rc. if the ess in f2p account banks were all changed to pure ess (member's object) then that would be unfair, like i said before i dont think you get get it. jagex is NOT obligated to make provisions for macroers who want to make actual money. this is breaking 2 rules. if you pay for membership, and you break rules, youll get banned and lose your account and not get refunded. this is the agreement you agree to when you make an account. jagex has a right to NOT let macroers that want to make actual money do so. do you have a problem with that? and if this happens with yew logs, then yes, blame the macroers again. with yews you need a level 60 wc, but lots of noobs create new accounts and just let a macro run on them to chop logs till they get 60 in a day or 2, then they sell the yews cheap to members, or through real world auctions. and if this is the case and jagex needs to do something about it, they should. make yew logs a member object so you cant make money cutting them unless youre a member. or make f2p yews only burnable, and only member yews fletchable. this is a measure jagex will probably take next. but tough luck. dont be mad at jagex. this is totally the fault of macro-using real-world trading rule breakers. they are spoiling the game for legit ess miners and probably very soon yew cutters. dont make excuses for rule breakers. its jagex's job to eliminate tham, and thats what they are doing
  24. dont forget that one of the biggest ways money comes into the game is by monster kills. from goblins to black dragons, the vast majority of monsters drop some gp that players stash in their packs and bank there is a big difference between REMOVING rares from the current economy, and NEVER HAVING rares in the economy in the first place. first of all, i think we agree that without rares in the economy, there would be no such thing as "real investments". of course, gradually the prices of psuedo rares, like barrows or infinity, would rise as merchants continue to buy low and sell high. but investing in these kinds of rares could also backfire on you if a new update comes out and overshadows the demand for the previous items. so you would not have a reliable investment item at all if no rares existed. second, my view is that players "working their tails off for expensive things" would be much less prevelant if there were no rares with escalating prices to work towards. we'd have the pseudo-rares at high prices, like guthans and whips, but these items would be valued based on their in-game functionality, not just because they "look cool". of course the cool look is a factor, but you would find a lot more demand for functional items than fancy ones, and i believe that there would need be much less money per player in circulation, causing a more stable level of inflation. i believe there would be a lot less alching just for cash, and merchanting would be more a case of negotiating low to buy, and selling and market value, so less inflation on prices in general its just my opinion, but i think the fact that rares exist is the very reason why players hi alch as much as they do and "print" so much money to cause the very inflation that th rares themselves absorb. yes, the rares protect the economy from the effect of inflation, but to me rares are also the very cause of the inflation in the first place
  25. lmfao!! why the hell should jagex "care about macroers"??? macroers are rule breakers. either play by the rules or get shafted. geez its kinda unfair now that every f2p player with a stockpile of ess in their bank has been changed to a "member's object" which is completely useless to them unless they get members. i think jagex should have changed all f2p ess to normal ess, so at least legit f2p runecrafters can still use the ess they have to make their runes other than that i think this is a good move. and all you people ranting against jagex, you should focus your rage on the real reason for this update: the rule-breaking autoers. not a single person has expressed their anger at the mindless noobs that make level 3 accounts to make themselves rich, you guys are just looking at the update and feeling inconvenienced. well i got some news for you. its the autoers and rule-breakers that spoiled the rune essence market, not jagex
