  1. random event items are for fun, not for profit. same with holiday items
  2. tourniquet, youre still missing the point. you cannot ASSUME that a skill pure is breaking a rule. what you are proposing is a runescape version of racial profiling. its like arresting every muslim or arabian person on the assumption that they are a terrorist. working towards a goal is not boring. its the very reason why someone will do the same thing for hours. it takes a level 85 the same amount of trees to chop from 1 to 60 as a level 3. same thing with mining or fishing or any other non-combat skill. your combat level has NOTHING to do with how well you get yew logs. nobody cares about your frustration. you cant compete with the level 3's on yews because your wc level is lower than theirs. thats not a reason to hate them. what about combat pures that never level any skills. are you going to assume that as humans they will get bored killing monsters over and over and so assume it must be a macro? this suggestion needs to be dumped
  3. you cant ban people for "most likely" being an autoer just because they have low combat and high skills. they might be autoing, they might be legit players that create skill pures. you dont ban people based on guesses
  4. well odd, like you said, it probably will only be that way for the frst few days (2 weeks maybe) of the new quest, until the fanfare wears off. and even tho it will kill the market for unicorn horns and antipoisns (a non-existent market anyway) i dont think there will be any effect whatsoever on the overall rs economy
  5. i vote for varrock. its where the most economic action takes place. it has the busiest general store and banks. it has the upscale commercial area in the north, and the "slum" area in the south. definitely what a capital city looks like
  6. unicorns are serious. like 2 seconds after they die, by the time the deathanimation happens and you pick up the horn, they are back. i collected about 200 horns today. i suspect its a bug that jagex will fix soon
  7. with the new falador park mole event theres another way to get nests (and tree seeds) without wc.
  8. yes jwrm. theres also the black arm and phoenix gangs. runescape sucks when it comes to clan support. there is no clan structure or even clan-oriented events. sure a clan could go to castle wars or fight pits or wildy, but its not a runescape event for clans team capes are pathetic. but meh if jagex wanted official clans in runescape, they probably would have made them long ago. they probably have their reasons for not having proper clans, because im sure lots of people had asked and begged and pleaded and suggested and all to no use
  9. i cant say i have weapon loyalty. i used to treat my dds like number 1, but lately ive been spending most of my time with my magic shortbow. in a few days my slayer staff is going to step up as my main squeeze what can i say, im a weapon p*mp
  10. if you havent done the horror from the deep quest, the next best thing for both defense and prayer bonus is a broodoo shield. same prayer bonus as the god books, with more melee defence than any of the books, plus a +3 magic att bonus excellent guide, by the way
  11. clans dont exist in runescape
  12. yes it is, but for the hundreds of overzealous mod wanabees out there, its one more thing you can get reported for, and one more thing people could be innocently banned for. in fact, be careful who you call childish, they might say you are trying to find out their age...
  13. i love the dds spec and d long spec. and d baxe rocks magic short bow is good, but 55% drain is kinda lame never saw the point of the d mace spec, i always missed dont have much weapons with specs
  14. oh... ill add one more thing (im trying to give you the most essential info, and even that is a heck of a lot) in members, the most profitable skill, without question, is runecrafting. at level 44 you can make natures, the most expensive craftable rune (except laws from time to time, depending on buyer) to get your rc up to level 44 before you go members, take advantage of the barb village update and run body runes from edgeville (the update has made the body alter the closest altar to a bank in the game, and body runes give the most crafting exp in f2p). also, collect all the talismans you can find, buy, ask for, etc and enchant tiaras for extra runecraft exp that will get you to your goal faster. when you get to members, there are 2 main ways for you to craft nats: the brimhaven general store, or the abyss (there are guides on this). since youre just coming from f2p, id recommend the brimhaven gen store method, since abyss crafting is pointless without glories, and glories are inconvenient without hero's quest :D. using the gen store method, you should be able to make about 500-600 nats per hour (1 tip, go thru the abyss and kill abyssal leeches to get pouches, youll make more nats per trip). even at this rate, though its slow the risks are minimal and you could cash out for about 150k an hour, or stock up for high alch money and mage exp
  15. before i joined members, i tried to max out whatever skills i could in f2p. i could fish swordies, smith full steel, make str ammies and cast up to fire blast. beyond that its a struggle to do anything in f2p because most of the high level abilities are members only. going to members to mine rune makes no sense. most members go to f2p wildy to mine their rune, because the hero's guild is usually always mined out. but if thats your plan, youll need to do hero's quest anyway, which requires additional quests and about 50 quest points (look it up for details). agility is one of the most useful skills you can get if you plan to go back to f2p after a month is up. train in the gnome course to level 25, then in the barbarians course to about level 44, then head straight for the agility arena in brimhaven (get familiar with the full world map). your goal in the arena is to get 1000 tickets to get a very fast 320k exp. youll only need to do this once, and it might take a week of your time, since you can only get 1 ticket per minute if you get all consequetively. the next thing you might want to do is fletching, just to get it up to the level where you can make arrows out of the metals you can smith, for range training (if your pure trains range, that is) blue dragons are really good money. but the truth is, in the taverly dungeon where they are, its nearly always crowded with high level mages and rangers that will make it nearly impossible for a newcomer to even get a chance at a dragon. the other place to find blue dragons require completing the watchtower quest i suppose you want to make the most of your time. i'd say that if youre going back to f2p after a month, farming, herblore, theiving and slayer are a waste of your time if your pure has high mage, i would advise you check out the mage training arena in al kharid. very useful for getting a lot of experience, once you have the runes. also make a few rings of dueling and check out the castle wars and duel arena minigames. youll enjoy the fun breaks between your busy schedule for melee training, the next step up from rune scimmies is the dragon long sword and dds, which require the lost city quest, or if your attack is 70+, the whip, which requires lots of cash. but either will allow you lots of melee experience faster than f2p weapons one more thing, if youve been saving up your big bones or thinking about using your dragon bones for prayer exp, youll want to check out the ectofunctus in port phatasmys. it requires priest in peril quest and recomended strongly you also do ghost ahoy. using the ectofunctus you get 4 times the prayer exp than just burying a bone. sounds exciting? well its not, its a tedious process, but if you need the prayer exp its worth it be sure to check out my guide to going f2p from members with a full bank. in members you have like 5 times the amount of bank space than f2p, but this can backfire on you if you have to cancel your membership. with the guide i wrote it shows how to make 1 month of membership the most profitable thing you can do in your rs career. however, it can also be a nightmare if you make a mistake and withdraw all of something that youre not supposed to, so be discalimed. anyway, check out the link in my sig choose your plans wisely, its very easy to be overwhelmed with all the things membership offers, so planning is important. dont expect to do a little of everything, just the things that will make the most of your time and your goals. good luck and holla at me if you need anything
  16. this sounds like a classic case of plankton's chum bucket vs the krusty krab if you had at least come up with an original idea you might have had a chance. you actually sound like a disgruntled former ooc member that tried unsuccessfully to take over the cult and splintered off to form your own little subcult. but because your cult is a subcult of the ooc, you can never become greater than them. look at your uniform, you even wear the same chefs hat and red cape as the ooc does. the ooc is about fun and fellowship. the oop is about vengence and misguidance. you cant win because your philosophy is already holding you back my advice, rejoin your brothers in the ooc, they are forgiving enough to overlook your blind and ignorant ambition and let you participate in the vegetable picking you so long to enjoy. no need to hide behind the mask of fakeness, step out into the light of cabbage worship
  17. what you can get banned for "hi, where r u frm?" "do you go to school?" "today's your birthday? how old are you today? "what job do you do?" "what time is it?" "are u m or f?" friends dont let friends be friendly
  18. the halloween event was in lumby, and part of the christmas event was in draynor. maybe theyll use edgeville or al kharid for the easter event. i like the "mini-quest" idea with the christmas decorations for christmas, probably something like that for easter...
  19. yeah, im pretty active here and in game even though im 29 (hitting 30 this year!!! damn) married with 2 kids and have a weekend job as well as my day job in a book publishing firm. and yeah, we are severely outnumbered by the immatures and young people (not all teens are immature, but when you get to know them....) hey, its a game, its obvious that it will attract game-playing teens more than adults. but of course lots of adults are into games
  20. well, you feel that way, but based on what? based on the way i described it, how could it be abused? dont you realise that the system is being abused right now? you yourself admitted to reporting someone and getting them banned for something that wasnt wrong as far as jagex was concerned. you reported justin with the michael jackson incident. thats abusing the system. too many innocent people are being banned for nothing because they have no say. if somebody is going to report you, you can do nothing to stop it. at least with this system you can prevent people from unjustly reporting you to a certain extent. how can that not be a good thing? as for 30 seconds, have you ever timed how long a strange plant takes to grow before it attacks? 30 seconds is about the average time a random event gives you before they zap you. check it out yourself
  21. actually, they will attack you, from long distance if you are out of range. killerwatts have 2 types of attacks, a 1-2 punch melee attack, and a lightning dart attack that looks like a wind bolt. if you range them or click on them from a distance, they will attack with the lightning dart until you attack them at close range. now, if a killerwatt is already attacking you, and you click another one, it will grow legs AND attack you, and the one that was attacking you first will stop and then wander off
  22. i dont know if youd call it a bug, but the killerwatts have a very wierd long distance attack. up in the clouds above draynor manor is not a multi-zone, yet if one of the watts are attacking you with ranged, you can click on another killerwatt and the new one will attack, and you wont get a message saying "im already under attack". you could click all the killer watts around just to make them have legs and walk around instead of floating around. but you cant do it if youre close enough to be taking melee hits.
  23. lmao!! ralfoy1, i think you are my new idol! (well, not really idol, kinda..) i love this idea! not only is it witty and hilarious, but its so much fun! one question, will the frog tongue be a weildable weapon like the rubber chicken? how will that work? it would be wicked if it had the range of, say, a shortbow maybe, rather than wearing the prince/princess suit, youd have to wear the froggy helmet to "disguise" yourself in the swamp and ensure your safe passage without the frogs being aggressive lol, imagine the noobs selling "rare frog bones" for 100k! but i really like the idea, myself have about 6 tokens in the bank with no inentions of cashing in
  24. the "warning mod" event, in my mind, would work like this: next to, or in place of, the report abuse button, you have the send warning button. like the report abuse, you'd have to type the name of the offending player and select the offence. not only does this take a few seconds to do, it also limits one warning on the screen from a player, ot to a potential offender, at a time. that would protect against "spamming" a player with warnings. once the npc is sent with the warning to the suspected rule breaker, he'd say something like "Fred1426, I have to warn you that you might be breaking the rules." the chat would be seen as a regular text above the npc's head, as well as in the chat box. after 10 seconds the warning would say "Fred1426, if you do not answer me you will be reported!" and at 20 seconds "This is your final chance, Fred1426!". after 30 seconds "Report sent" and poof!, the npc disappears and the report is sent the npc doesnt stop you from what you are doing, it simply talks to you and awaits your response. it doesnt attack you or obstruct you. if youre fighting/mining/chopping/fishing, whatever, it calls your name and warns you. like i said before, only 1 can be sent at a time. say both of us are in catherby watching a level 3 harpoon sharks, i might be the first to send a warning. you might also attempt to send a warning, typing in th name of the player, and youd get a message saying "That player is already being warned" for the person who is being warned, if he doesnt respond, and doesnt try to send an appeal ahead of time, then its a very good grounds for being banned. if the player does respond within 30 seconds, then the npc goes away, and no report coming to think of it, perhaps the npc could be brother brace from tutorial island, the one that tells you about prayer, friends lists, and rule breaking. in any event, i think this is a much better alternative to the way the report abuse system works now
  25. you of all people should see the sense in this idea then. lets say exactly what you are doing is taking place, youre cutting yews with chat off. somebody tries to talk to you and you dont respond, so they assume youre using a macro. they report you, you get banned, end of story. the way the system works, you'd be reported and youd never know why you were reported, when the report occured, or who sent the report and what you were doing at the time the report was sent. can you imagine how frustrating that is? with this system, rather than they report you without any knowledge whatsoever, at least you see the report coming. even if your chat is off, you can see what the npc is saying, and at least you have a chance to respond BEFORE the abuse report is sent. not only that, suppose you were away from your computer when the npc mod warned you, by the time you came back, the report would be already sent, but at least you know you just got reported. you could take action right away and appeal the report BEFORE the ban took place, while still in the game. this would build up a better case for you in that you were there and couldnt click the npc in time, but at least you can defend yourself ahead of time the way the report abuse system works now, most people get banned totally blind sided, sometimes appealing with absolutely no ammo to defend themselves, because they dont know when they were reported or by whom, and they cant properly justify themselves in the appeal i think this idea is much better than the way the system is now
