  1. i like this. especially if the fur clothes looked like eskimo gear. wear it in the desert should cause you to drink water at a faster rate lol. and the silk crafting would be nice too. i would add a suggestion to your wool idea though. instead of just using the raw wool to make the clothes, you should be able to make knitted wool cloth (with a knitting needle in your inventory), and then you could make clothes (sweaters, tights, mittens, hats, booties (?) lol ). and when you finish your woolen work, you could dye your clothes to any of the six dye colors just like capes. and the clothes could be dyed again if you wanted. then you could mix and match colors. that would be really cool
  2. i like random events. i like getting rewards for running through a maze, solving silly puzzles and trivia questions and doing simple tasks. i like my frog prince costume and my forester hat, and im looking forward to my mime mask and shirt. i like collecting strange fruit and uncut gems, and even kebabs and beer come in handy. leave the random events alone
  3. well ive never seen anything like this on the "[Caution: Jagex Rule Violation]". what does this have to do with anything?
  4. you can stop a high level account from dropping objects on the ground. you cant stop a low level player from picking up items on the ground. maybe jagex can prevent one computer from logging in a second account from the same comp in the same world, but they havent, so they are allowing drop trading to be possible, when they could easily make this impossible if they wanted. they already have a time limit on switching worlds. they could also make switching accounts restricted the same way i believe drop trading was banned because people were being ripped off this way, and the "legal" way of trading makes sure you see what your getting before you agree to give up your items, making sure that both parties have a fair trade. if i am trading my own account, my noob knows what he's getting, and theres no unfairness or ripping off involved. its just a way to get items to my noob. and there are other ways to do this anyway. i cant see why this would be a problem for jagex
  5. i dont like the idea of nature staffs. the staffs are elemental, and for good reason. the only special staff is the lava staff, which is a combination element staff combining fire and earth. i would love to see other element combinations (steam, mud, smoke, mist, dust) staffs in the game though. but not death, choas, laws, etc
  6. if i have a level 3 friend and i give him/her lots of free valuable stuff, wouldnt that be the same thing? and its achieved through a "legal" trade, yet a low level player will be getting an advantage over other new players. nothing is wrong with this. as a community game, this is expected. of course, by making only certain items useable at a low level, jagex still makes sure that its a pretty even field for newbs. like i cant give a level 3 addy armor or a rune scim. i mean i could, but thay cant use it anyway. the only thing i could think of why jagex would frown on this is to allow free members to get around the limited bank space by creating a new char and therefore doubling the amount of items you can have. but look at how many players hav multiple accounts anyway, so even for this reason i cant see the rule making sense
  7. ipinkus, i think i agree with you completely. most fresh-of-the-boat noobs are genuinely clueless about how to get around and become independent. most of them go about it the wrong way, but i've helped noobs as well as insulted them for begging. but lots of them really dont want to be a nusance and would rather get on the good side of strong players, so they are usually willing to show they are worthy of your friendship and help. i think asking for help is honorable, even though sometimes annoying, but i'm a helpful dude so i help if somebody asks in a nice and mannerly way. but walking around varrock center repeating "im a noob, need free stuff plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" is what i cant stand
  8. this wont happen. it makes no sense to jagex. EVERYTHING about runescape is an incentive to get paying members, because paying members keep runescape running, even for free players. why would jagex take away the incentive for an ex-member to resubscribe? until you join again, those items will haunt your f2p account, and youll give in and become a member sooner or later. muahahahahaha!! hahaha haha! hmmm....
  9. believe it or not, i never knew there was a rule against this until now. as for getting stuff to noobs, thats easy. would i make a difference if i gave my items to a trustworthy friend who then gave it to my noob? i think the reason for this rule was to prevent drop trade scams, not to stop low levels from getting items. there is no way to stop people from transferring items from one account to another, and i cant see why this kind of transfer would be a problem for jagex
  10. i would certainly never contribute to this freebie pool if it existed. beggars annoy me, but i deal with them by simply telling them stop begging. it works, most of the time. either that, or let them follow you into the wild or the dark wizard circle. when theyre running for their life then they learn contributing noob stuff into a noob chest or whatever is a waste of time for low levels, since they cannot get any skills this way, and for high levels (unless jagex introduces a new skill called "generousity" or something like that). basically the idae will never work. its counterproductive for everyone involved. deal with your beggars. tell them stop begging. tell them kill stuff and get money and buy their own stuff. thats how all the high levels got the stuff that they got anyway. nobody gets rich by begging, not in real life, and not in runescape. expose beggars for the pathetic scum they are, and 99% of the time you will solve the problem of harrassment, and youll feel better deep down inside...
  11. Body runes give more mage exp than mind runes. The best mind based spell, fire strike, averages about 19 mage exp per cast. Curse always gives 29 mage exp. curse is time consuming, since you have to click the spell and then the target, and since you can only cast 1 successful curse per target. you end up wasting more time and exp comes in slower
  12. all items have a shop value because they are worth something. high-alching wouldnt exist if this wasnt the case. and players do disregard the shop prices when it comes to player trade. dragon bones are worth 0gp in the shops. think about it. the shop prices do very little to affect the economy. not only that, but for people like me that hate the hassle of merchanting (walking around varrock trying to sell full steel and mith is not my idea of fun) im glad i can get some cash for my items in a single convenient location
  13. getting a mind talisman is extremely easy, check the bestiary. wizards drop more than you need getting chaos runes are very expensive if you are f2p. making chaos runes is quite hazardous if you are p2p. regardless of how you look at it, thay are not that easy to obtain. crafting mind runes is certainly the way to train mage whether your f2p or p2p (unless your super rich) other than that, mages own fighters because they can attack at a distance and metal armor is easy to hit with magic
  14. i think a donation pool like this would be a horrible idea. this would be the only place noobs would hang out, and theyll never go anywhere else in the game. plus, i makes noobs think that others are supposed to give them handouts, and makes them dependent on free stuff the way i deal with beggars is to simply say "stop begging. go hunt". it might not change the beggar into a hardworking runescape citizen, but it will stop him from bugging me or begging in my presence. i hate begging. the only time i ever asked a friend for stuff was my first day, while i was looking for tin and copper and found the al kharid mines. those scorpions made quick work of me and i lost all my stuff. once i learned that most newb items respawn around lumbridge castle, or can be bought in the shop for about 1 gp, the game just got easier for me. it actually is quicker to kill a varrock guard and buy a chisel in the shop than to repeat "i need free chisel plz" until somebody gives you one
  15. if you want a single main story line for the whole game, then you might as well just play a single player rpg. as most people pointed out, the problem with a story line is its made up of a beginning, a sequence of events, and an end. unless you can think of a really compelling never-ending story that never gets boring, then it simply wont work on a mmorpg like runescape. not only that, in a storyline setting, the game dictates what you will become, and everybody has to go through the same storyline with runescape you can make your own storyline. you can truly act out a role of your own in the world of runescape. you can be an adventurer, a magician, a jester, a hardworking farmer /smith /lumberjack/ miner/ artisan/ fletcher, etc, a skilled merchant, a teacher, a leader. its not just an rpg. theres economics, policies, social norms and taboos, strategy, work, play, exploration, and of course interaction with other players. in this way, there is a much larger potential for a very unique gaming experience.
  16. deposit boxes allow you to deposit your stuff in 1 click, instead of right-clicking on the teller. its really not that useful, only saves you 1 or 2 seconds to deposit whats in your pack, and useless if you want to withdraw stuff. plus the fact that its inside the bank makes it more pointless, 1 click away from the teller and its not really adding any convenience
