People in a company aren't all going to have the same skills, so taking someone out of one department and putting them in another isn't going to do any good. I have no idea about any of the mods histories, but there is no harm to the development of the game for having a section dedicated to trying to improve the community aspect of the game. The reason we're not allowed to elaborate is we have nothing to say, it does no one any favours just complaining about things, especially things that aren't set in stone. It's nothing to do with Jagex telling us what we can and can't say, it's common sense and on top of that there are more likely than not some legal issues with discussing some of the things between us and Jagex at this point in time.

How dare they employ people to help the community aspect of the game. Jagex is split into different departments, just like every other company. This doesn't effect their development team in any way and it's an ignorant notion to suggest such a thing.

There is more to it than that, however I am not allowed to say. I can assure you that nothing sinister is going on and it's very "behind the scenes". Jagex are not going to make us change actual content on our site, they're not going to get us to censor posts they don't like or anything like that. Yes, removing advertising for other games is part of it, however it's not the full story. As Peter said, we should be Platinum soon and then maybe people can stop complaining.

I wrote content for another site at the time of release of MEP2 and was personally asked by Mod Mark not to write a guide for it. However they can not in anyway, shape, or form stop people from writing guides. They can REQUEST it, and people (Tip.It for example) abided by it for respect for Jagex, not for legal reasons. Ya they can't really use "brute force" to control fan sites, but they can use back-stab attacks to control them. All they have to say is: "Monitor all your threads and anyone posting a picture/knowledge of any unfair game-play/bug should be reported to us. If you don't comply with this your fan-site will be starred-out and reportable if said in-game." With a small quick step they have control of any fan-sites they want, and in the same way promote the ones over those that do not follow them. For once in my life, I wholeheartedly agree with Me Hate Limbs statement. And that's saying alot. But that's not happening, nor will it happen.

I'm pretty sure that a Jmod confirmed that there will be no 'training quest' for the new skill. You will be able to just get right into training. Not sure where I read it, maybe it was one of the Q&A's. This is correct, there will be no new quests required to start the new skill. There may however be a quest launched alongside it (like there was with Agility) that has it as a requirement.

Guthix seems very likely. Ignoring that we're left with aloflmewetra Which you can get "A Farewell to" out of, but left with an M and unless that means it's a members quest but that's pushing it. Doubt it's anything, but that G is curious

There's nothing wrong with GS, it's just that some people that use it don't understand that. The other day we were doing an alt ICC10 run so we had low requirements for people and asked for 5k gs minimum. One shaman who had NO gems or enchants and some PvP gear, we kicked him and replaced him only for a healer to throw a fit for us kicking him saying we didn't ask for people to be gemmed. It should be a guideline only and there's no harm in refusing people from joining certain raids based on their GS. It's exactly the same as people getting you to link your "Epic" achievement before GS came about, there's no difference at all yet people didn't complain so much about that. It's an easy way to check roughly what someone's gear is like without having to inspect them.

First raid of our new guild today. Was a slow raid of ICC10, had only 8 people at the start and this was starting about 30-40 minutes late too. One shot Marrowgar with 8, mage came online and we one shot deathwhisper, gunship, saurfang, fester, rotface with 9 before our 10th guy got on (he was stuck on traffic). Then we one shot Dreamwalker, three shot Putricide (We had two people who had never done it before), one shot princes, one shot blood queen. To be honest, it was an awesome job, two people hadn't done anything past the first 4 and for us to one shot festergut, rot face, princes, blood queen and dreamwalker with two people who hadn't done those fights before is awesome. Although we did have like 2 seconds left until Blood Queen Beserk due to someone missing the bite. 10 Bosses in one night is a new record for us. Hoping on Friday to be able to do that in a bit less time and possibly get Sindragosa down too if we have time. Then hopefully have all of Monday on the Lich King :D Got about 5750 GS on my pala in prot gear now, only 3 upgrades left from ICC10 now, amulet off Marrowgar, Ring off Gunship and Bracers off Saurfang. Got the shoulders tonight and a DPS cloak so it was an awesome night.

Took 5,000 steps or so today while I was out (First time I've taken my Pokéwalker out with me) which was a nice surprise as I didn't expect it to be anywhere close to that =P. Caught myself a Magby which I intend to use as soon as possible. Remembered I need to head back into the forest and pick up Headbutt there so I can get a Heracross (Favourite Gen 2 Pokémon :D). Then need to do the Goldenrod gym. Addicted to Voltorb Flip, fun game, think the highest I've gotten to is level 8 or so :D

Bloody hell, aren't they meant to be one of the rarest items in the game too? Bought myself 264 tanking boots using Frost EMblems from my mage, awesome. Still need to upgrade my amulet (only 232 thing left, ugh) but other than that my gear is looking awesome.

This had been brewing up for a couple of weeks and just consists of the Guild Leader being unreasonable and just doing whatever it takes to get her own way. She obviously had problems with us doing well in our own group (which wasn't an enclosed group like she says it is, everyone had an equal chance to join and it was originally just a bunch of us messing around on a Friday night in places like OS). We even had to decent 10 man guild run this week (they got Rotface down, although I did help and raid lead everything up to Rotface on Sunday). So her argument about it ruining the guild was terrible. We will have to see what happens tomorrow when the servers are back up and see the fallout form the rest of it, wouldn't surprise me if the old guild either disbands completely or gets set a long way back because of this. (Those of us that left were basically the ones that turned up to every raid, out geared everyone else and ended up boosting a lot of people). The people in the guild were awesome and still are, however the guild itself just didn't work which is a shame. Oh well, hopefully our new guild will work well. We're hoping to do ICC10 in two days (Friday/Monday) then have the Tuesday evening to either set up our own ICC25 pug, or do ToGC10 or mess around with Ulduar HMs or something. Or maybe even an alt ICC run, we'll have to see what we feel like each week.

Bought this today, and played one game (first time in 3 months I'd played). Did awesome, went 5-1-6 or something similar with Slither who so far is my favourite character, either that or Puppet Master (I've only played like 6 games though :P). Not going to get into this game to the point where I know who counters who etc. I'm just going to be playing it on a casual level where I play to have fun, not to learn everything about the game and its mechanics.

Guild drama tonight which made the guild basically split in two. The guild leader wasn't impressed with our 10 man groups (the one that lots of us from the guild have been running for a month now, she even joined for a couple) due to stupid reasons. She was just being too unreasonable. The most active officer left, as did about 8 other people. Wouldn't surprise me if more people will have left by tomorrow at some point (ones that weren't on tonight). Shouldn't stop our 10 man progress at all (we made awesome Sindragosa progress tonight, should easily have her down next week, especially with the 10% buff). as all but maybe two guild members from that group have left that guild and joined our new breakaway one (the other weren't on). Will be interesting to see what happens.
