Got this today, haven't played too much of it but reached level 5 so far. Still mainly using the starting gun for my soldier with a decent-ish pistol for backup when I run out of ammo. Going to play some more now for another hour or two and see how far I get, hopefully can reach level 10.

My internet is fairly unstable at the moment so I didn't want to risk it, otherwise I'd have stayed longer. And Dragon, lies, we were sitting in the bank minding our own business when you came along and asked us if we'd like to pet your monkey :o

Already had a Papaya growing there so all good for me :D Anyone else's interface messed up? Bank window appears too far up the screen and there are gaps between the skill columns.

I disagree, there have been some fantastic updates this year that have improved the game immensely, all the small parts added together make for a huge, needed, upgrade for the game. While there has not been too much in the form of content (although still quite a bit) the content that has come out has mostly been impressive and well worth doing. With regards to this topic, that was a really interesting read, I'd rather the new quest was just one quest rather than split in two, although I guess then we'll have to wait longer for the next instalment. The thing about the puzzle changing would explain a lot and why when I tried telling someone what to do they started shouting at me telling me I was wrong :P

If the light is non shining on the temple side door then you're going to have to go through the abyss, to the death alter and then out that. Once there you can rotate the mirror to open the light door on the temple side. If it's pointing towards the front door then you can't get into it via the death alter. It's a silly system and one I'm surprised they didn't update to make it point every way, it makes the whole temple a pain to navigate, especially for those of us who hadn't been there since MEP2 came out and had no idea what state it was left in.

Did some really stupid things otherwise I'd have beaten you =P (Forgot to sing in crystal first time, forget death talisman so I ran to GE to buy one, then realised I didn't leave the door unlocked, also spent about 10 minutes running around trying to remember my way around the temple). Good but simple quest.

Well all of my 99s are in Combat skills so it made sense to max them out (and the melee ones came while training slayer, a skill I enjoy). Ranged came because at the time of training it it was a very useful skill, made a lot of money staking using it at only 90 ranged (which at the time was enough to be in the top 1,000). I wanted to train it so I could PK better and just generally be 'stronger'. I'm currently bursting my way to 99 magic, however the main reason I am doing that is for charms to get to 88 summoning which will help with monster killing, something I enjoy so 99 magic is really a side goal while doing that and I thought I might as well get it just for the sake of having 99 in it. My only skill that's 99 and is just around the minimum for it is strength, simply because I use a whip while training slayer and thus don't have the option to train it, attack, defence and range are all over 18M xp way more than what is required for 99 so they've just been trained naturally. Some 99s are 'pointless' to get, however I'd rather finish a skill off at 99 then leave it at something such as 90 simply because when Jagex do release how end content for that skill then it'd be nice to be able to do it straight away such as what is happening with Herblore right now.

Unless it has changed recently, you have to pay for fraps. I personally use CamStudio, it's a completely free piece of software and not a trial like Hypercam/Fraps/Camtasia. http://camstudio.org/ Never had any problems with it and it's always done a great job for me.

This update actually gave a reason to level non-combat skills. Prior to this update (the addition of the potions), the only point in raising non-combat skills was for quests as you could just buy all the other items you'd ever need. The update was something this game greatly needed if it was going to advance, unfortunately a large part of the update has now been "nerfed" making it less useful, however not completely. It still has huge uses in PvM combat and a lot of players will still enjoy the new potions. I for one hope Jagex release more updates like this in the future, despite that I think they should have waited with this update until they had similar updates also ready, releasing this alongside a new bow that requires 90 fletching, a new weapon that requires 95 smithing, new food that requires 95 fishing and 95 cooking etc. would have impacting it a lot less on PvP worlds and would be seen as a much more 'epic' update than what this was. That is one of Jagex's major faults in my opinion, they update too frequently, if they updated "little things" like this together at once it would not only give them extra time to work on them for rebalancing problems but also it would make it look like they're updating more.

We got with 3 healers, although for Faction Champions one of them switches to DPS. Need about 4-4.5k DPS average with 5 DPS to down the first boss, which is fairly easy to do.

If you have a couple of paladins, Hand of Protection works wonders for getting rid of the Impale stack. That's what we use in 10man HC. Then you get your tanks to cancel it straight away. For the second phase Nuke down Acid Maw and just ignore Dreadscale, his enrage is fairly useless. Icehowl is straight forward. ToGC10 man progressions is going along now, two weeks in a row we've got to the faction champions. Beasts are fairly straight forward now, downed it this week with 30 seconds left in both Phase 1 and Phase 2.

That's a strange setup, 5GB of RAM? Seems really odd. I'd imagine that your PC has a PCI-E x16 slot on it (I've had a look for the model on a couple of websites and cannot see it). Depending how much you want to spend, something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143115 (GeForce 8600GT) should be more than capable of running it on medium while not costing too much. However if you do want to "futureproof" it a bit and might want to play some future games then something such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125258 (Radeon HD4850) would be more suitable. However it costs quite a bit more. Depends on what you want to go for.
