Just what I was gona say. 100K is way too easy. And how can you quit without owning a single rare? And instead of rune armour it should be god armour for f2p :P 1. Done 2. Done (f2p) 3. Done 4. Done 5. Done 6. Done 7. Done 8. Done 9. Working on it 10. Working on it

They also dont move untill there is a tree/ore/whatever spawned.
-
no it wouldnt be funny. "Selling fUll BronXze wiD Y3llow oUT-lline thingy!! 5mill" "oooO looKit Me, I'' is a whITe KniteE"
-
And your reasoning for this is? Did you read my post at all? Saying that people, who don't have a pin, they are an idiot or dumb is just being ignorant. I thought this should do it. How wrong I was. Just three posts later we see something like this: ^ wow Here it is again, for the slower ones: Your pin number doesn't make you more prone to being hacked, it only protects your items if you are dumb enough to get hacked in the first place. How do you think people got along before banks had pins?
-
I still say a couple of worlds should be separated into a couple of age groups.
-
I agree
-
Same here, I have a pin but not really sure why. I have only pocket change in the bank [1-2mil and little useless f2p items] so if i get hacked they could just take my mask and not even bother with the bank.
-
Notice anything strange about this picture?
-
im f2p, but this place is probably even more secluded on p2p: the top or bottom deck of any random ship. Also, exit the church on tutorial island through the south door and head down to the southernmost edge of the island :?

~`*`~Tumeg's Guide To Merchanting~`*`~
AMazeOfDeath replied to Tumeg101's topic in General Discussion
God Armour is also a very effective way of making money for f2p. It's not easy but it works. You can buy a full set for a low price and sell in pieces for more. Or the other way around, depending on the armour and how much it's going for. You can use your armour as payment for other goods such as: yew logs, coal ores, steel bars, ect. You can buy full armour for a said price, add some more items to it and sell for much higher. [For example: I bought full Zammy a while ago for 3mil, noticed the prices are dropping, tried to sell it for atleast 3mil. Two days no luck, then I added red gloves, red cape, ruby ring, & power ammy to my full zammy and sold it all for 4001k. I know I couldn't believe it myself, this all happened about 3 days ago. Sry no screen shot of the trade, but it's not often I make 1mil of profit in one day.] -
Official TET drop party loot thread for 1-1-06
AMazeOfDeath replied to Honest1's topic in General Discussion
 Yeah, I'll say. Can I have your severed foot as a good luck charm? My loot after I got rid of the various beers and logs. I guess I was at the wrong side of the park. :? -
My assumption was for every year there isn't a new sana drop the prices should keep rising. Apparently I was wrong. People are just too nervous with their rares and sell too soon in large ammounts. If I had a santa hat I would hang on to it. I do believe they will go up again, not as high as 5.7m persay but somewhere around 4m - 4.5m for sure.

I think we should  And what do i need to provide evidence for, a theory based on logics and common sense? Alright, I think I'm just about ready to burry the hatchet. It's not like its going to happen anyway. Nevertheless, good thread =P
-
I was under the impression it was understood. Discrimination! Ageism! I think we should sue Shockwave. And to what do you owe this knowlege? Care to provide any concrete evidence?
-
I believe there has been a misunderstanding, and I would like to clear some things up. You have to understand, that my initial argument was not for 'a few servers for only older people'. No, this is what I was siggesting: As you can see, nowhere does it say that I would like a world only for older players. So here it is again: I think Jagex should take half of all active worlds and split them into three age groups. (For example, "15-under" / "16-25" / "25-older") 1. It's not discriminating, and its not ageism. 2. I honestly believe the ratio of mature people in a mature world would be far greater than the ratio of immature people in a mature world. 3. This can actually keep older players from leaving the game and not feel like outcasts. This would also broaden the age group of people who play RS as they won't look at it as a game for little kids. 4. I have read a number of posts in this very thread which read something along the lines of "i'm an older player, i would like a world for older players like myself". I personally don't see anything wrong with wanting to play with people who are closer to my own age.
-
How is this hurting anyone? Does the idea of having a few worlds designated for older players bother you so much? How does this affect your gameplay? Is that something you would do? "Oh no! Look!! Most of the people in this world are 20+ lets "siege" the world and run around and be immature in it." Why? I have covered the fact that some people actually might do that, and that's ok, I wouldn't mind. But it is very unlikely that all immature 11 year-olds would collectively gather and storm worlds with older age groups and wreak havoc. What is this kindergarten? How is it discrimination if you are allowed to go into whatever server you wish? No one is forcing you to do anything, it is completely your choice which world you play in. Is it discrimination to not allow little kids watch rated R movies? Why is preferring to play in your own age group so wrong? Just give me one reason why this is a bad idea and I will try my best to understand where you're coming from. All you have so far is "it wouldn't offer an 'escape' from immaturity, it will be the complete opposite". The fact that all immature players would storm the older worlds is very unlikely. What's your next argument?
-
That's a very good point. I completely agree with you. I know splitting worlds into age groups is not the ultimate solution, but its a solution. You can't really say something like "if you believe you are mature enough then go into this world", therefore using age is the second best thing. Granted there are immature adults, I do entertain the idea that 900 older players can act more mature than 900 younger players. And I really think the system would filer itself out from the older immature players. They may find the game boring to play in their own age groups and move down to the younger ones. Or, in the better case scenario, being surrounded by more mature players they may start acting mature themselves, both in game and real life. Everybody wins. :)

I feel the exact same way and I'm 17... All I can say is, thank God for the Public Chat- Off option. :P  I too am 17 and feel the same way. Way too many people annoy me in this game. And yes, separating worlds into age groups is a very very good idea. Your a bit up for your self and lawl mate 49 attack str and def? What been playing 10 minutes and your allready anoid? No,its not a good idea what if wanted to meet a freind? or trade something and they are younger/older than you. Wow, incredibe. Idiots have even leaked out onto the forums. Sry, er.. mate, I don't know how many hours a day you play but I seriously doubt you total almost 3 million xp in 10 minutes. What you guys have seen is a classic example of discrimination based on combat level. Bravo, way to set an example. Although I must apologize, I didn't take into consideration the fact I would actually get a response like that. Always overestimating the crowd. But hey, I'm working on it. What I suggest is splitting up half of the worlds into three age groups. While leaving the other half as it is. Players won't be forced to go to either worlds, and Jagex will not keep a strict watch on who enters what world. If presented with a choice of weather to go into a "15 and under" world or a "20 and over", which world do you think would an older player go into? Now, s/he can go into either one, its up to them, but chances are they will go into the second one. It will be just more convenient for some players to be able to choose the more mature worlds to play in. And, of course, there will always be a few little kids running around in the older worlds and making idiotic "your momma jokes", but hey, I'm willing to take those chances.

Ok, what you are describing to me is the workings of a stock market. It's a nice idea, but this isn't the game for it. Many people share a concern that the game is too easy as it is, and becoming even easier. The way the currency system is set up right now, is people who play the game for a long time, raise their skills, and/or have a pretty decent head on their shoulders make the money. You see a guy with a few millions and you think: 'this guy knows what hes doing, he knows what to do and where to look'. If you want to someday have as much, then you have to work for it. And when you start out with absolutely nothing and elevate yourself to having full trimmed rune sets, whips, weapons, ect. and having a lot of money you feel good about yourself, you become a somebody. The first million you make feels like an actual accomplishment. With this stock market idea, a nobody with 10k can earn 1million, as you describe, in a matter of seconds. Suddenly, you don't have to be anything to earn money, you might as well stop raising your skills, why bother? Why try to get lvl 40 fishing and a lvl 50 cooking to sell lobsters and earn pennies when you can just invest and earn big money? Ever hear the saying "it's not the destination, its the journey that matters"? This not only takes away from the point of having money, but it also puts a lot of fast money into the hands of just about anyone with half a brain and a quick trigger-finger. And I think we all know what that means. When there is a lot of money in people's hands, they can afford to spend it. Without skipping a beat, merchants increase the value of everyday items to astronomical heights. So instead of paying 200k for a full rune, you will be paying 2million for that same rune set. Eventually, the economy will balance itself out and the only thing that will change is the amount of extra zeros you have in your bank. I am very pleased with how many coins in have and I wouldn't want to have to be trading with numbers like 500million to 1billion. You claim that people will want to log in every day to check up on their investments. How long can this possibly keep them interested? You can only have so much money before the game starts loosing its appeal. Once nothing is out of reach, you will get bored and stop playing the game. And on the other end of the spectrum not everyone's investment will flourish, people will loose their money, in fact, some will loose so much that they will not want to play anymore and leave the game. In any case, Runescape looses it's gamers without attracting any new ones.
-
Truth be told, I don't really see the point of this. It would terribly distort the prices of everyday items. Your average trader would sell his full rune for an astronomical price, so as not to be left behind incase there is a shift in the currency and his 200k becomes a 10k. It hard enough to try to advertise what you are selling in crowded worlds, but you will now have to say something like: "selling full rune 200k - asgarnia / 500k - al kharid / 50k - misthalin / 100k - kandarin". That can get on people's nerves. It would also, I assume, introduce a whole new batch of scammers that will say, for example, that they are giving you 1mil - misthalin, but swap at the last second and give you 1mil - kandarin. Even if this system is introduced, my guess is that eventually people will not accept one form of currency, but only trade in another. Ex. "Selling full rune 50k - misthalin **only**". Which would render the whole process of introducing new currency completely meaningless.
