  1. I do apologise if this is too prying, but I've always wondered what the motivation or catalyst for such actions are. I'm not trying to say you are weak, I'm just curious why people would do it. Or is it just the kind of thing where there is no thought involved? Again, if if you don't want to answer this, I won't press it.
  2. If only everyone was like you. :D :P ...We'd all be boring :P It's true though, if we all loved with no confrontation etc. how mundane would things get? I suppose, I kind of had my head in the clouds while listening to the song 'Imagine'. How sad, we need to hate each other to spice things up so we don't all turn into mediocre drones. :wall: If that's what the song makes you feel, then you're clearly missing the entire significance of it. And why is it sad? It can be exciting, funny, enthralling and improving of a person, as long as possibly being annoying and deterring. The bold isn't what the song made me feel; it's what your comment preveous to that one did. I personally think Imagine is a pretty uplifting song.
  3. You're right, but then why do people constantly talk about CO2? The answer is because it's the only one with a significant net increase in recent years. And in regards to your skepticism of 'global warming' because some places are having freakish cold snaps, it's all part of the bigger picture - climate change. You can't expect the climate to remain stagnant for all eternity and the recent cold snaps can be factored into global warming if you look at broader data, i.e. average temperature of the planet, not just a localised area.

Heh, you'll be eating those words tonight, my friend. :P
  5. If you were referring to the "older, more experienced people" comment, I wasn't referring to myself or teenagers. I was referring to adults. In fact, I'd say that I'm in the "kids" category currently, as my life experience is minimal as well. So, thank you for the: " ", I appreciated it. The vast majority of people on this forum are teenagers which you know full well. According to your argument teenagers are more experienced in life meaning they apparently have a superior opinion. This is wrong because my argument is that teenagers are actually going through puberty which is messing with their hormones, and frame of mind, meaning that a 12 year olds opinion is actually more reliable as they aren't undergoing a serious amount of change. They have views and tend to stick to them. *Early teens. As far as I can tell, 18, 19 and even 17 year olds have no where near what you would call 'impared judgement' due to hormones. I'm happy to see any scientific studies you can come up with for your case, though. You need evidence to tell you that teenagers hormones clearly effect the way they think? I thought that was obvious. For young teens, yes. For late teens I honestly don't think so going from my own experience. Seeing as my own experience isn't the greatest scientific source, I invited you to prove me wrong.
  6. Don't worry sumpta, I agree and it needs to be droned into everyone on this planet until we wake up to ourselves. Unfortunately, the jingling and folding stuff seems to block peoples ears, eyes ad the reasoning part of thier brain. :wall:
  7. Most of the music I used to listen to I still do. I remember listening to music like rage (RATM), korn (mostly older stuff), limp bizkit (I still like thier old stuff [musically; not a fan of Durst to be honest]), tool and a few others a loooooooong lime ago; as in back in the 90's/turn of the century. :P

Actually if you go on sexiness, the Queenslanders are a shoe in. For you see, we have Petro Civinoceva. Who do NSW have? Hindmarsh...oh p-lease :P LOL. He should regrow his moustache.
  9. Be patient, the replies will come. Anyway. I'm kinda losing interest in Lost. Some things now are just getting too far-fetched I don't even watch it and I agree. I'm thinking they ran out of ideas after episode 1. "Hmm, they crash on the island but they can't get rescued untill the end of all the series we ever make. Now what?"

I never thought that a pom would be into the state of origin. Well, I suppose you do have a point, Bubsa, it is more or less the highest quality rugby league on the planet in my opinion. :)
  12. You go ahead and laugh. Your lack of grammar skills is far more humorous in my eyes. You realise your first "sentence" can hardly be classified as a sentence. right? And "Bhahgaga" is more a jumble of letters than a laugh. Btw, who are you? Oh, nobody.. Okay, your opion doesn't matter considering this is the first time I've ever seen you here. As Lateralus said, you shouldn't judge someone by thier reputation on a forum.
  13. It's Doherty, and the boy writes excellent songs. Tabloids will be tabloids you know. Heh, reminds me about a Bill Hicks gag about drugs and musicians. :P
  14. I realize I stated that I wouldn't post on this thread again, but this just "erks" me a little too much. In absolutely no way did I make a blind assumption that Al Gore had to be right, and in no way did I rely on the information in the movie to present my argument. In fact, most of my argument was based upon scientific fact on the cause of global warming. And about your comments of being omniscient; please, did you even read most of the other posts on this thread? Really; it seemed like these people were pulling these explanations out of their rears. I realize it was condescending but I was just annoyed by the lack of correct information being used in each arguments. I sincerely apologize if I offended anyone, it was purely for the sake of argument. So when I responded to you a few posts up, was I doing that or were you? I'm happy to be corrected if needed. No no, not you. Your explanation was definitely valid. I'm talking about the people who believe there is no problem or that Co2 is sucking out the atmosphere, or that it's all just a big government conspiracy. It just seemed to me that you're explanation for what global warming is was actually explaining ozone depletion. Or did I miss something?

  17. Firstly we're not exactly talking about solutions to the problem as some people are still skeptical of the problem at all. I'm not saying we shouldn't talk about solution, though. Clean coal technology and carbon sequestering come to mind although there aren't any methods I'm aware of that take existing CO2 out of the atmosphere. As for your comments on reducing emissions harming economies, you do have a point however you need to look at the bigger picture. Think of the billions in the anti-pollution or 'green' market when everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Think of the mass devistion due to climate shifts predicted. Think of countries like mine (Australia) that are literally drying up. As far as I can see the only reason why these green technologies aren't widespread is that governments are greedy for the money rich fossil fuel industries so they can flaunt thier growing economy to the less intelligent masses.
  18. Yeah, the going ideas being thrown around that I've heard of is that it's the cooking process which makes a bone bad for your dog (which no doubt you already know). I'll do a quick google and see if I can edit this with some more info. Edit: as the guy above said, I'm getting that the problems come from the cooked bones being so brittle and easily splintered. If your dog's mouth isn't bleeding and it dosen't appear to be in any pain, it should be ok. Still, make sure you keep an eye on it.
  19. Try not to sound so pompous in that you are right and everyone else is wrong. Here's, to the best of my knowlege, what global warming is. As an example to you, my friend, I'm going to say I may not have all of the right theory here. What you are talking is the depletion of the ozone layer which then allows more UV light to come in. Bad stuff. This isn't caused by your classic greenhouse gasses (CO2, H20, CH4, NO2 etc) but rather by CFC's (chloroflourocarbons). Global warming, as I understand it, is radiant heat being kept within the atmosphere due to the electrochemical interactions of some electromagnetic wavelengths with some gasses which re-emmit the radiation back to earth rather than let it continue out into space thus allowing it more time and opportunity to discharge it's heat energy.

  25. Hahaha. It never stops :P I'm amazed how offended Del has actually gotten over a few jokes. Of course I'm going to be offended when you act like I'm as weak as those skinny [wagon] kids whose biceps are the size of my wrists  I actually take pride in taking care of my body and making it the best it can be.. How is your being offended surprising when you make comments like 'go back to crying in your room and cutting your wrists like you normally do' and other drivel like that?
