  1. I think the point is gotten across... Anyway, there really is a difference whether or not the clan is established or not. If the clan already has a big name, you don't just want to abandon the name and reputation you've built up for nearly a decade, do you? I mean, if the clan is a small/mid-sized not-so-well-known, the simple solution is to just start over, and trust me I'm not saying that smaller, mid-sized or short lived clans are worth less. Only trying to say that being established complicates it.
  2. Now you're offline, so yes you did. Ironic. :P
  3. But then we won this round, of course. Not that it's important, or anything... :? Just want it in writing. At least twice. Actually, now that I think about it: Repeated times will do. :
  4. Good morning everyone! I know you all have missed me dearly, and I couldn't let the other staff members have all the fun.
  5. Nothing G rated or discussion worthy about this. Laikrob, Tip.It Moderator
  6. I wanted a nose piercing once. When I asked my strict parents if I could get it, I got the unexpected answer from my stepmom: "Sure, when are we getting them?" Yeah, didn't want it anymore then... It's a piercing. It's fixable, and usually doesn't leave a bad scar. :) It won't ruin your future either, and as someone mentioned, you might even learn a bit about how others judge books by the cover. You might want to keep it, or you might realise it's not for you. No matter what you choose, it's always best to be on the good side of your parents, though. Bribes, in example good grades or cooking them a romantic dinner, and well though-out arguments might work better than "standing up for yourself". I always found the method of mentioning the escapades of my lesser well behaved friends effective; drinking, drugs, reckless driving, tattoos, fighting... All these things you stay away from. Thank God you only want a nose piercing! :P It's been a few years since I was 16, but the methods probably still might work. Good luck. :
  7. There is a solution, Adrenal. : Go to your profile (the one visible for everyone) and choose Search user's posts. If you click on the Post Subject part instead of the Topic part, it will take you directly to your post. Takes a click or two more, but it works. Hope that helped. :) Laikrob, Tip.It Moderator
  8. Who gives a crap about the admins? They get the new crew members and such... Hell, they get everyone. These ones are just for us! *gets out the BBQ sauce*
  9. Get some games for me, Meol. I'll sleep in front of this topic the whole week meanwhile. :
  10. Yeah we heard. :P We're always keeping our eyes open for fresh meat, though. Uh, I mean suitable candidates. Yeah. :anxious:
  11. Welcome back to the Admin rank, Sio.
  12. Anyway, I know who Testo's real identity is. ;)
  13. I have a test account too! :-$
  14. Starting a new clan is good and well if you're a medium clan, but what if you're Gladz, 'The', DI or a well-known clan that want to keep the name? How do you decide which is the "real deal"?
  15. Summed up my thoughts pretty well. I would like to see it in 16:9 if it's not a huge deal to change.
  16. In cases with several leaders it's often easier, but when there are only one or two... Yeah, that can be a tough one to crack. You can't just remove their administrator rights, unless you're the other leader. Even then, there's the chance the bad leader is root admin. The first course of action should always be to approach them in a professional manner, preferrably via PM, and present the case as non-attack-like as possible, but make sure they know that it's something that many members agree upon. There's always a chance they can change, and most deserve that. If nothing else, they deserve to step down with some dignity left. I have seen that happen, so we didn't have to go to the uncomfortable forceful removal steps. 1) Back up as much important forum info you can without admin access (rules, stickies, lists and so on) 2) Start up a new forum just in case, make the basics and have the members register with the new leader 3) Tell the leader collectively you are not satisfied with his work and that you want him to step down 4) Ask to keep the old forum, and that the new leader get the admin handed over 5a) If he agrees, be happy and keep forum, decide whether or not he can remain as member 5b) If he refuses, go to your new forum and "start over" without him Of course there are probably better ways to do it, but that was my suggestion.
  17. In TSG there are no mandatory events/trips, instead the community encourages people to participate in various ways. This makes the atmosphere a lot friendlier, and you don't have to feel guilty for putting real life first sometimes or taking a break from the game. For us, that has been the key to success. Also, sharing the knowledge has been a big thing. A few of the guides on Tip.It actually comes partly or fully from our forums, and we have a few members who are very good at crunching numbers, whether it's training or monster hunting. We even had someone thoroughly proving that Ranging level AND Ranging bonus affects cannoning accuracy. Most didn't know that. ;)
  18. Jim, thanks for reminding me to post. Appreciate it! :
  19. Is this a joke or what? Not your clan(s), no rules and you condemn them if they don't show up. And you're the judge, jury and executioner. Not going to lock it, we do have a sense of humour here. :
  20. Welcome both! : When it comes to Kota, I am sure he will get himself banned for spelling alone.
  21. Hasta la vista, baby. 8-)
