Ooh. Shiny. Where did you get the UI? Oh, and does Alliance suck as badly at BG's on every server as they do on Blade's Edge? Horde wins 9/10 matches on almost every BG. Just last night... I played Eye of the Storm.. Horde: 2000/2000 Alliance 173/2000. I took a screenshot, and I'll see if I can find it.

Damn... I wish there was a way to play it without going through the OS... Even on 512mb ram its gonna run like [cabbage] =/ Because to get it to workd youd be compressing more ram than you have as it is =/ I still don't understand how everybody says wow will run like [cabbage] on the 360 when FFXI runs great. If anything, Final Fantasy should take more RAM due to the better graphics.

25% of British teens play Runescape according to The Times
Kill_Thomas9 replied to Scudman126's topic in General Discussion
Well I don't believe 25% is quite accurate, otherwise I'm sure there would be many more British players than there are now, but I do believe runescape has evolved with the players to the point where it now appeals to a much wider age group, as well as a much broader type of player. -
Lol, I have to say that was quite entertaining to read. The exact opposite of what you'd expect.
-
Again you're assuming too much. I don't recall saying I would be un able to cope with it. But let me ask you this. Would you rather announce to people that you play runescape, and have your friends poke fun at you, or would you rather just not tell anybody, and not have your friends poke fun at you? The answer seems blatently obvious to me.

w00t! I'm slightly underweight, not bald, under 20 with a job! I R FTW! No no. That's Warcraft. Runescape is a teenage (between 14 and 19) player, nerdy, with a mild to medium case of acne, and may do one of the following: Belong to some sort of scifi convention, do very well in school, or have a retainer.

I have to object. If one my friends asked what I did this weekend, and I said I played Halo for 20 hours, he would just be like "HOLY [cabbage] MAN! WHAT THE HELL????" Now if I told him I played runescape for 5 hours, he would be like "Dude that game sucks. I hate you just for playing it". You need some new friends. And some confidence. No seriously. They wouldn't stop being my friends for playing it. But they would probably try to make fun of me for it, just like anybody else would do. And what do you mean I need some confidence?

I doubt it WONT be f2p, but that's my opinion. I bet you're right. Most, if not all, of the rwt and content replacement updates have been f2p. Anyway, I'll at least log in and try it out, even though I'm retired and won't come back, no matter what.

Well it is called an MMORPG. Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. So it is like the Final Fantasy games. You're a guy but play a girl character (z0mg). Also think about the girl's side of view. 90% of RPGs' playable characters are male. Absoultly true. I find it depressing when people say RuneScape or whatever MMO is their "little secret". I'm not saying to reveal it out to the world when it doesn't care, but to hide it under a sheet at call costs is ridicilious.(SP) Well if you hang around people who don't play the game but know about it, you will find that they often say things like "That guy plays runescape? Wow. What a total nerd. That game sucks [wagon]." So therefore, if you said you played runescape, it would be reasonable to assume that people would think you're a total nerd. Look I'm not saying to bring up RuneScape in every conversation, but to flat out deny that you don't play because you're scared they're going to call you a nerd is moronic. Besides, if those people are THAT ignorant, then why are you even hanging out with them? Unless you're ignorant yourself on other things... Because that's the way it works. If you don't hang out with the people who call others a nerd, the only people left are the nerds themselves. Not that there is anything wrong with being a nerd. I would just rather have people think highly of me than think I'm a looser. [/hide] Now you think nerds are loosers? (how you spell loser) Odds are you'll end up working for one. Ok. Let's get something straight here. I DID NOT say "I would just rather be thought of highly than be a looser". I said "I would just rather have people think highly of me than THINK THAT I'M A LOSER". I am talking about other people's opions. (And I accidently held down the O button too long.) I'll type a little more, just so you can have a little bit of insight into my life. 1st grade: Some girl makes up lies about me. I deny them. I get tagged as a "liar" for most of elementary school. I don't have many friends. This leads me to be a quiet person. 5th grade: People realise they're being morons about something that happened in 1st grade. I have many friends. Mainly the "cool" people. But am still a quiet person due to the past. 6th grade: I get into Runescape. I become friends with the more "nerdy" people. I am still good friends with all the "cool" people. 7th grade: All the "cool" people get over-concerned with their self image. I don't hang out with them anymore, but am still friends with most. One of my best friends who was a "gamer type" decides he wants to be cool and goes to hang out with all the "skaters". He becomes a total jerk and says a bunch of [cabbage] about me. By the end of the year, I become a total "nerd". Not nerdy in how I act or dress or anything. I'm just nerdy in what I do in my free time. 8th grade: One of my friends from elementary school asks me to hang out with him and some other people I used to know. After hanging out with these guys for a while, we start to get interested in skating. By the end of the year we start to get bored with skating. I talk less to my friends that are considered "nerds", but am friends with them. I'm friends with my old friends again too, although we don't hang out. 9th grade: Me and the friends I hang out with start to become friends with more people due to highschool. We're now sort of a "post-skater" group. At this point we all start to get involved in console gaming. By the end of the year, I become friends with one of my main friends that is "nerd". I'm basicly friends with everybody aside from the jocks and the total stoners (most of them anyway). My point: Don't ry to act like you know more than me, or have experienced more than me.(concerning nerds/losers and such.)

THANK YOU. Erm.. I mean... this is a serious topic. How dare you state that this topic is a joke? I am offended.

Sorry, let me edit my first post. It may be confusing.

My Point: Just because you kill something and don't get a drop in the same number of kills DOES NOT MEAN THE MONSTER IS NERFED. Please stop making stupid posts how how something is nerfed when YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK. Hi, I have killed 20001 Skeletons (Level 22 ones) this month, and i've had no clue scrolls. I've been using a RoW the whole time two. Have they been nerfed? It certainly seems that way. =P~ =P~ =P~

If that is the case, how does the 360 run on just 512mb of RAM? I think because it wouldnt have all the programs running in the background, like virus/spyware scanners and stuff. Ok. That's what I was trying to say 8 posts ago. In that case, I would have to figure out a way to hide the Linux OS or somehow reduce the amount of memory it takes while playing the game.
-
I don't think it would be set up like that. At all. Banks would be safespots. For sure. Cities may be either only players your level or a very small margin. And there would be some system jagex came up with that decides what the level range everywhere else is.

One of the best inventions ever: Invisibility
Kill_Thomas9 replied to Kill_Life's topic in Off-Topic
....OK, you have an active imagination. Wormholes? Come one! Ships were being detected because they interfered with earth's magnetic field, as they are large blocks of metal. The instruments for detecting ships that way were incredibly crude, at the time. However, they magnetized their ship through electromagnets, and they made sure their it was magnetized with their north going north. This eliminated any disturbance, and the practice was rather successful, for a time - although I thought it was on a British ship, and it was shot down after it got caught by radar... OT: They'll never scale it up, and it would be billions if they could. What scared me that's invisible are carbon knives that are thinner then 300nm. As they are smaller then the wavelength of light, they do not created any visible light - but can be strong enough to cut through you neck! So.. be scared. Very scared. No no :shame: I believe he is talking about another ship. The ship tried some sort of cloaking, and (I don't know the details here) it somehow dissapeared. To the best of my knowledge there are several theories on it, one of which is the wormhole one. -
WoW has been optomised for dual cores since patch 2.2 (currently on path 2.4.3) which I believe came out late '07. I made a post on the official WoW forums inquiring about quad core optomization, but I would bet on a patch 3.2 update for quad cores.
-
Yeah, and I'm almost positive WoW isn't optomised for triple core processing, which means you might as well throw that third processor in the trash.
-
Doubted that until I read it on Xbox.ca I'm not entirely sure whether it means 10GB instead of 10MB of embedded DRAM in the "Custom ATI Graphics Processor" Also, wouldn't it be better to have 4GB of RAM and 1 of those processors versus 512MB and 3? No. I have 2 processors and 4 gigs of ram (2 2gig chips). I don't even use half the RAM. Graphics on the other hand... I have the crappiest graphics card ever. ATI RadeonHD2600. I'll tell you right now, that thing gets burnt up playing WoW. And I'm not sure what they mean by 10MB DRAM. Edit: Aha! I've figured it out! Notice how Linux was running so slow? Well that is due to the lack of RAM. When playing games, there isn't much data to be stored in the RAM. It all goes through the processors, and uses almost no RAM. Running Linux on the other hand (I imagine) uses just as much RAM as any other OS, and seeing as there isn't much RAM, it runs slowly. Does anybody more.. qualified want to confirm what I said?
-
Actually it's more like RSC. In wow, you can only attack people of the opposite faction, and most people don't just go around killing everybody to be asholes. And in wow you can't say "Oh no! that guy is gunna kill me! I had better switch worlds!"
-
The reason I'm interested is becaue the 360 has THREE 64bit PPC cores running at 3.2 GHz each which imo is friggin insane, and should be able to run WoW at max detail.
