  1. Well the morons should realise that it is called item LENDING. Not item RENTING. It's their own fault if the get scammed. Hasn't Jagex said like a billion times "Dont lend your items out to people! You might not get them back!" The same friggin concept applies here. If you aren't willing to loose your money, dont give it away. The little kiddies should stop whining to mommy and daddy Jagex that they gave 30k to someone, and didn't get what they wanted back. This is just one of many reasons that made me leave runescape in the first place.
  2. Hmm. The update came out 12 hours ago. *Checks price* Nope same price. The item isn't going up. Anybody else see a problem with that logic?
  3. Well.. I'm retired, but I decided to check my equipment in the new graphics. *Logs in* *Checks self out* Huh. Full dragon + Santa + Sara Sword + Legends Cape. Looks pretty cool in high detail. But I'll wait till full screen with F2p comes out to check again. *Clicks on air staff to try lending* *Staff gets equiped* *Trys to re-equip the sword* *Use Members Object* *Cant re-equip as f2p* "[cabbage]!" Well I wonder if I have a reason to ever log in again.
  4. Well I can tell you the answer is NO as f2p. Logged on today to check on my friends, and without fullscreen, it really isn't too much better. It looks almost fuzzy like those pictures of guys you would see on the adverts on the RS homepage. (You know, the ones where everybody says jagex is just posting low quality images)
  5. No... YOU lost tutorial island today. I created a character so I could forever play on it. (it is still there) I've got like 6 guys on there, a few with about 800k bronze arrows. Maybe I can get one off now and get like 8mil
  6. I believe this deserved it's own post. Although all your points are great ones, and very much true, that is the way everything in the world works. When you are playing any sport in the world, there are formulas that involve "We are going to X player X. Player Y will most likely try to X, in which case we will Y" ect. This is also true in war, the closest thing to PvP we have in the real world. The come up with X plot to do if the other side acts in X way. If the other side does Y, we will do Z. And so on. That is the way the world works. Sure you can try to confuse the other team by doing something they don't expect, but they most likely have a plan for that too. The only way I see to have a game that is truely random in PvP, is to have a game where PvP isn't ture PvP at all. Meaning the player presses such a button, and the computer reacts in a random way, deciding on some random type of attack or freezes the other player in some way, and the other player reacts by doing some action of his own choice. In that case the game is more EvP, not PvP. And yes, some of the other games you posted do have better PvE systems than WoW (some by a long shot), but if you pay attention to the new expansion comming out reletively soon, there are going to be many changes to PvP such as Seige warfare, destructable building, ect.
  7. Sorry, but I have to differ with you on that one. In runescape, you can easily bring a group of 30 level 30 players (the eqivalent of level 25 in WoW) to the king black dragon (lvl 276), equip anti-dragon shields, put up melee protect, drink a few prayer pots and antifire pots, bring a few sharks, and kill him in 5 minutes. If you bring a group of 30 level 25 players to a boss in WoW, first of all, they won't make it to the boss, and even if they did, they would all get 1 hitted, and would be missing, and have ALL of the attacks that don't miss either blocked of parried. And yeah, the noobs won't survive at the Daggonoth Kings. But you can bring a level 120, who has all stats at level 94 (halfway to 99) and kill the kings with considerable ease. If you bring a group of level 65's (I'd say halfway to 70) to an endgame raid, they would die. Plain and simple. Even if they were level 67 they still wouldn't have much of a chance of making it to the first boss, let alone killing it. *Agreed* Yes, that may be true for 'Scape, but imagine if you were standing in Varrok, and a group of 20 maxed players from some side opposing you came running towards the city and started attacking everybody. Everybody dies and looses their full dragon and partyhats that they're parading around the ciry. That happens in WoW, and I don't think people would appreciate loosing all their hard earned items that they spent thousands of gold on. (1g in WoW = about 2k in 'Scape.) And people die much more easily in WoW. It isn't uncommon to die 1 or 2 times while getting one level. And that is because you can't kill more than two or three monsters of around your level at once without dieing. So i you kill something while another is attacking you, you kill that thing, and then another monster or two attacks you, you have a pretty solid chance of dieing. Get me a monkey, a bucket of grubs, a touchscreen, an LED attached to a USB port, a character with enough dragon bones for 99 prayer, and I can get a player with maxed melee.. P.S. I'm not arguing, I'm trying to have a discussion.
  8. Exactly. Could nobody else seriously come to this conclusion that maybe they're just suggesting an alternative to IE if that isn't working? Sometimes I wonder where the overall IQ of this community is going.
  9. It's a glitch. I'm sure Jagex wouldn't be dumb enough to do that. Change your "idle animations", that's what it's there for. I really don't think you know what you're talking about.
  10. LOL. When you see you don't go touch the thing. So when you see a sign that says "Danger. Keep out.", you don't go in. All I can do is laugh at his stupidity, and eel sorry for the family that had such a brilliant child. --------------------------------------- He didn't deserve to die. But I shure as hell aren't going to feel sorry for him anymore than the kid who decides to set is balls on fire with WD-40 and then dies because of burns.
  11. I dont see how the hell you guys get shipbuilding or music from a staff, or the child of Elvrag. If anything there would be some new quest where you have to kill some level 400 dragon or something with some new awesome staff they provide you with. Or something along those lines.
  12. Because, they got nothing else better to do? Yeah, if there wasn't speculation, there would be no topics. (In general that is. OT ftw.)
  13. It's a great skill if you like the cape. Otherwise they may as well remove it.
  14. So people dont have to deal with *Sitting in fally bank* Noob: what is falador? You: Uugh.. *log off*
  15. Uum. Yeah. I made a post about this oh I'd say 6 months ago, before I was retired. Yeah, they've totaly ruined the way updates should be presented. They just want money. Example: Old way: As of late, there have been reports of mysterious activity deep below the earth. Some say they have witnessed sighting a long forgotten beast, from the deepest parts of the land. Legend has it to be the toughest monster in all of Runescape, and the reward will set your back on fire! This is going to be one hot update! New way: Later this month you will see the release of the level 702 TzTok-Jad in the depths of the Karamja volcano. This beast will drop the coveted fire cape with amazing stats. And you only have to wait 3 weeks! I would say the second would attract more people. (Yes I know the first one sounded corny.)
  16. Sorry, let my clarify. ABOVE POST EDITED.
  17. A lot of stuff in this post is funny (see [hide=unicorn][/hide]) but I seriously started laughing when I read that.
  18. +1 You can compare the graphics and gameplay, just as you can compare the dirt on rocks and shoes, and the weight diffence, but you cant compare the games in their entirety. The words Java and JavaGamingExperts might mean something to you. Incase you didn't know, Runescape in this detail level is an incredible achievement in Java.
  19. I just dont see how [hide=THESE GRAPHICS] [/hide] are comparable to runescape's.
  20. I see what you are saying... but... there is no problem. This is the way it should have been in the first place. Party hats were not supposed to be super rare valued-above-everything items. They were just fun items that were given away on the holidays. And yes, people will realise there are other games with comparable graphics, that aren't a grindfest. And plenty of people will join because of the new graphcs. Both of those should turn out to be correct.
  21. WoW Graphics : A- Runescape Graphics : B Wow Gameplay : A+ Runescape Gameplay : C- All of Runescape is a grindfest. Click on bow, Click on string, Click on bow, Click on string x 300. Yay a level. Click on ground. Click on monster. Click on monster. Click on monster. Click on spec bar. Click on monster. x 5000. Yay an attack level. Now do that 3 times and you have a combat level. Do that 126 times and you have maxed combat. Oh boy!! Now I can... oh wait... what can I do now that I'm maxed?... well... Start over? That opposed to talk to x person. Do x quest. Start exiting questline. Each quest takes between 5 and 30 minutes with no prep time. Do 15 quests, and you gain a level. Gain 70 levels, and you go on endgame raids with up to 20 people, each with 1 of 8 different classes, playing 1 of 8 races. Each class has dozens upon dozens of different abilities with different ranks, that improve your skill as you gain levels. Combine that with the different item types (Junk, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary) and you have yourself a great game. I AM NOT SAYING RUNESCAPE SUCKS. I am saying that for 3x the price, the gameplay is more involving, and there is endgame gameplay. I am not in any way saying runescape sucks.
