Modern society does nothing but prolong, unaturally, human life, and destroy the enviorment. Just beacuse I have a different view on society, means I have no comprehension on the opportunity of society? Strange how people these days think.

Not all countries were in poverty before the lightbulb was invented... Just beacuse they dont have all of the modern technologies we have doesn't mean they are all living in poverty, about to die from starvation. And I didn't make this topic saying "we should all move to the poorest parts of Africa, and starve there so we dont go to school!!".

That was very well put. And I'm sure a family of 5 would be much happier to live here with a decent income, than on some island, but if it is one or two people, it may be very different. With a family, if you die, you are letting someone down. Without one, if you die, it doesn't physicaly hurt anyone else. Yes. But I would first have to learn how to live there. (ie. how to fish, hunt, skin/gut animals/fish, and cook them.

Thats something called maturity and balance. Mature people balance their time wisely. They dont go around "doing whatever they want to do". They plan ahead. When your a teen you tend to be spontaneous because of your lack of maturity, and you sometimes make rash decisions. However, an mature adult with a secure life can and will make time for whatever "fun" activity he desires, wether it be golf or skydiving. That is the problem I see. Would you rather work nonstop for 15 years, and then get to go do fun things for a few years, or have a life where you dont have and real responsibilities, and can go leave when you want to? Most people retire at around 50-55. At 55, I dont think you are in the best shape to go skydiving. By 65, I am sure you will be too old to do anything like that. Yes, let's all move down to the tropics and live in small houses. You know thats such a great idea, that people have done it already! No kidding! They turned out great. Yup, look at them. They are having a blast. Stop at look at what you wrote. You are describing Sub-Saharan Africa. You honestly are saying we would be better off if we all just have up our jobs and went to live, in poverty, in the tropics. You know people in the past did this. They died around age 20, over 75% of women were raped at some point or another, and most people probably saw your best friend get killed by a rival tribe or wild animal. We don't like, engineer rice that grows faster, or make a certain type or potato grow larger so less people starve to death... we make human mutants... The world is overpopulated in places that are remotely desireable to live in. Sure there might not be overpopulation in montana, but what is there in that part of the world that you can live off? When I say overpopulation, I dont mean there is nowhere to live. I mean that are not enough resources to live off. People die naturally. Medicine is unatural. If people survive at a higher rate than they would naturally, it upsets the balance of nature. Notice all the animals that go extinct? Many go extince either because people kill all of them physicaly, or we kill something they kill, causing them to starve, causing something else to over populate. There is a human over population. And yes, global warming is natural, but people are accelerating it, in an unatural way. Polar bears are going extinct. They are already endangared. Dont tell me this is a natural cycle, because if it was, they would have gone extinct last time this happened. And I'm not saying we are going to turn into x-men. I was saying someone could release a disease that would be very easily transmitable, and would be like a very bad flu, that you cant cure. Btw, grats on 99 (or almost 99) fire making.

I agree with what you said to an extent. It may not be fun to live in the United States without a good education, but that is only because everybody else has a college education. If you live somewhere you you can just live off the land, it would be much better. Lets say you life off the land in some beach of some island in the caribbian. In the morning, you sleep untill you want to wake up. You then go wade out in the water, and fish for an hour or two. Go cook a fish you catch, and eat it for breakfast. Smoke a few more fish, and leave them to dry. Then go hang out with your other friends once they finish fishing. Lunch, you find some native fruit that grows there. Eat it for lunch. Go do an hour or so of cleaning up near your house. Later for dinner, eat one of the smoked fish you caught. If you want, sleep at your friend's house. Wake up the next morning, and do the same thing. You might do this 6 days a week. On the 7th day, you trade some fish or whatever for some other item you want. When you get old, you'r children watch out, and care for you. You would do the same for your parents. By the time you're 70, your body is tired and ready to die. You die a peaceful death, and people celebrate that you can move on to some other life. If you catch a disease when you're 30 or so, people will do their best to take care of you, but if you die, oh well. You'll be in a better place. Doesn't sound to bad does it?

Ok, I editing my reply in response to the other replies. And your entire life might not be "having fun", but what would you rather do, work for 50 years, and then sit on your @ss all day when you're 60, and too old to do most of the things you would have wanted to, or do what you want to, and die when you're 70?

Why make money to have fun, when you could just go have fun? People save thousands of dollars, so they can go vacation in some tropical island, and have fun. Why not move there and have a small house, and friends? What else do you need? A big house? What does that have that a normal house doesn't have? More space? Go to a friends house. Give me something some rich person has that you cant have without money. No doctors? So more people die lessens the overpopulation. You cant keep eveybody alive for ever. Wow. No more cars and oil refineries means no more accelerated global warming. Yay! Half the species on earth wont go extinct because of our polutants! The advance in humanity can only lead to it's downfall. Any further advances in bio-medical things, and we will have a mass genocide from all the dna-mutants people devoping.

First of all, what is the point of living if you dont have fun doing it? People say money cant make people happy, but why do we go to school? To get an education so you can make more money in life. So I ask you, if money can't make people happy, why spend your life trying to make more money? What makes school the "right" thing to do? Discuss.
