  1. when I switched from P2P to F2P the last thing I did was put on my sara cape. In F2P you never see one except for visitors from P2P. I have been F2P for a year and never seen another one.
  2. I have a couple of things to add, or ask. First of all, I have explored alot of the known map of runescape, I like to do that, just wander around. Although not a member anymore I know there are a couple of more measurements that I would like to do, but I cannot. You could easily put this into an easier perspective if you went as far west as you could, used your sextant or compass and measured how many squares the known map is (or you could just walk it counting squares. Another thing that I thought of that might put it into better perspective is if you matched the iceberg up at 30 degrees below 90N which to me would have things add up a little better, and then see if you need to rotate map to find an equator, keeping the observatory on 0,0. You might have stretch the map a little also to get it to fit correctly, this may make the known world larger.
  3. What an intelligent reply, good job man. Thanks. Ive been around this issue for a while and understand quite alot about it. I collect guns, there is only one that I shoot, and acually keep loaded in my whole collection, but they are a passion of mine. I would never think about loading one and taking it somewhere to kill people; and dont appreciate gun owners being lumped into one category.
  4. My reply is pretty much a general reply to some of the comments that I have read so far. I am not singling out anyone. 1. If you put a gun in the hand of someone not trained how to use it it will be to easy for them to figure out how to do it wrongly. Guns are very different than anything else, it takes absolutely no intelligence or skill to use one, it's like your mouse "point and click". It takes training and knowledge to understand when is the best time to use that tool. 2. I live in a state in the US that just passed what is called a "Castle Law". This law is designed to allow a business or homeowner the right to produce and use a weapon such as a knife, handgun or long gun if he or she feels that they are threatened in thier business or home, without having to retreat before using it. The law has only been on the books for almost a year and violent crime such as armed robberies, break-ins and such are down almost half. 3. I saw alot of US bashing also in this. We think differently here than in Europe, Europeans think differently than Africans, and we both are having to stop a genocide or something like that at least once a year. No need to say that Americans influence the world in a negative way, and there is no need for us Americans to ask for a Thank-You from anyone for WWII. **Edit=about checking for mental stability when they check for a gun, under the HIPAA laws that is illegal.
  5. after I explored the map (took a long time because I went everywhere I could) I trained thieving, wanted to see what the whole HAM thing was about.
  6. The luckiest day I ever had was my second day of members, I was lvl 60 and wandering around the map to get to know it. I was in Karamja jungle over the bridge close to the ship yard and saw a red dot on the map. I walked over and picked up full rune, full black d hide, a zammy page a about 20k. It was the first members items I ever got, which I promptly sold.
  7. I think that this would be an awesome idea. For example: as to not upset and to help the newer players, lumbridge would be controled by jagex, but would have everything that newer players needed, but the downside would be that they could not leave the kingdom (or duchy, if you want to be literal) without pledging allegience to a king, which comes with advantages and disadvantages. some of the advantages would be like you would be able to use the resources of that kingdom without threat from guards, but the dissadvantage would be that all kingdoms lack some resources, opening trade between kingdoms, or if you did not want to trade, you could make your way into hostile territory and "steal" it for free, but having to watch out for NPC's of that kingdom who could range from guards who would auto attack to tax collectors who would take a portion of what you took. Im sure that this could be expanded alot, just what I thought of in a few minutes
  8. I am 27 years old and own three businesses, married, nice house and nice cars. I played for almost a year and quit when business got too busy and when I started noticing the decline in the players IQ...I might get on for about 20 mins per month now. I think here at Tip It the average age is going to be higher though than the whole of Runescape.
  9. this makes me wonder. You hear all the time over there about deaths from exhaustion and such from playing these games for massive periods of time with no break. Could these deaths be from the farming practices or just overzealous players?
  10. Sniper, awesome quote in your sig...hilarious. But I would disagree, its kind of like supersizing your meal, its doesnt cost the company 40cents to give you a little more drink and fries, but its what the purchaser would be willing to pay for a little extra.
  11. What my main argument is that no, we don't deserve the new benefits, such as bank space or new quests, but we do keep this game going, not members.
  12. Before it even starts let me do some explaining: 1. Members should be entitled to better weapons, armor, etc. 2. Members should be entitled to new quests and a larger map 3. This is not an original idea, I have seen it on a few posts. You hear it on both sides; F2P shouldn't get anything because they don't pay, members should get it all because we pay $5.00 a month. Members do pay 5.00 a month and you should be entitled to more privliges because you do spend your hard earned cash on the game and we F2P only have to suffer through advertisements. I used to be a member, don't play often enough to justify the money now, but I have seen both sides of it and there is one thing that I think not many of us understand. Members DO NOT pay for the whole game for us F2P to enjoy, as a matter of fact, it is the other way around. We F2P'ers pay for the game for members by advertisements. Much more money is made daily or monthly from marketing than the five bucks Jagex earns from its members. Thats it, there cannot be an argument for the other side. Millions are made daily on the internet just by ad placement, not by membership. Granted, Jagex makes a pretty penny from memberships because of the size of the group, but that is nothing compared to the money the company brings in from advertising. Prove me wrong.
  13. As ive said in my first post. Keith is essentially correct. I think that the money that members bring to the game is negligible and barely pays to keep thier accounts on the server. JaGex makes thier money through adverts...thats it, members do not pay for the game, they pay for the right to keep thier accounts on the server. F2P pays for the game, updates and such.
  14. I think the old F2P shouldn't get anything because they do not pay is old and tired. Most of the millions being made in the internet industry is through advertising. I am not sure how much a slot goes for a very high trafficing page but I would be willing to bet anything that the revenues that the advertising on the F2P side is considerably more that the 5 bucks a month per member. I'm F2P, used to be member, wish I had a few more slots but deal with it because its free.
  15. if you stand on the path at the western corner of Zaff's shop you can hear it, and the sound that sounds like eating is spaced too perfectly to be someone eating at the same time at the same interval. It must be a conspiracy...just wanted to see if anyone else heard it or could discern what it was.
