  1. From my memory it should be under "build" or "compile" as far as I know. But I haven't touched VB since my last format (2 years ago or longer). After that try looking for it on the desktop or in your documents. A stupid question but have you saved all the project?
  2. Try this: Go HERE (Microsoft website) using Internet Explorer (not Firefox or any other browser as they won't work) [*:3lagw2cr]Click on Windows Validation Assistant [*:3lagw2cr]Click on the Validate Now button. [*:3lagw2cr]Be patient while the ActiveX loads, do not click on any links. [*:3lagw2cr]Read the instructions on this page while it's loading. You will be prompted to install - click YES. [*:3lagw2cr]Enter your product key then click continue [*:3lagw2cr]When it says "Validation Complete" please click Continue to return to your previous activity [*:3lagw2cr]Copy what it says and paste it here. That way usually works. also have you tried going to the windowsupdate website and get the latest WGA update?
  3. err are both Avast and AVG runnning at the same time? If it is then you'll get conflicts - just stick with AVG and uninstall avast. I've never had any problems with Ad-aware and spybot together. so get both of them. You might also want to think about trying windows defender. It worked for me when spybot + ad-aware couldn't remove some junk.
  4. Plus can you also rename hijackthis to scan[Caution: ExecutableFile]? I think vundo is hiding some entries from HJT. A normal computer has at least 1 o20 and 1 o2 entry - your log has neither.
  5. here's what I'm using on my main pcs: Laptop: AVG free, AVG AntiSpyware free [manual updates etc] (formerly ewido), Windows Firewall. Desktop: McAfee Personnal firewall, AVG free, Ad-aware, spybot, AVG AS and windows defender. Both the PCs are hiding behind my router too. From personnal experience: Norton Killed My PC within a month. McAfee was good. Kaspersky was the best but my subsciption ran out. Zonealarm got on my nerves. Kerio personnal firewall was also good.

  7. Well I know symantec has a removal tool for it here: http://atstake.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.hotbar.html You could just go to add/remove programs to remove hotbar then delete the files manually... I think the registry keys are just orphans after something fixed it.
  8. RC1 is still on the website but there is not much point since the RTM is being compiled in a few days... If you do get the RC1 then it will expire on June 1st 2007. BETA keys will work on all vista builds from 5308 to RC2. If you want the final product key then I can't give that away...(M$ policy)
  9. It depends on a lot of things. How much RAM have you got? How much memory did you configure each VM to have? How much disk space have you got? On my desktop I am running Xp home with Microsoft Virtual PC and VMWare Workstation 5 and I haven't ran into too much problems.
  10. Well, download Hijackthis onto your desktop. Usually I wouldn't even poke you with a 10 metre pole because of the sort of stuff you use. Do a HJT scan and post the log. Then I'll decide if I want to see your computer burn.
  11. well...which firewall your using would be helpful...

  15. nothing will happen to it anyway, so the answer to your question is no.
  16. According to McAfee it is a Pup [potentially unwanted program] PUP usually includes spyware and adware - not trojans or things like that. Close all internet explorer + firefox windows then clear your tempery internet files and the cookies. Try safemode and scan - see if it still finds it. If it still doesn't work tell me the path of this jokeware. [it should be in your temp because this is a javascript that makes your windows shake after visiting a site]
  17. Joke shake is harmless. Might be some kids playing a joke on you. It is meant to make your screen shake. Just let McAfee remove it.
  18. You have a CoolWebSearch infection. Download CWShredder Here to its own folder. Update CWShredder [*:2hqtyfv5]Open CWShredder and click I AGREE [*:2hqtyfv5]Click Check For Update [*:2hqtyfv5]Close CWShredder Boot into Safe Mode: Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. Reboot your computer into normal windows. Post a new log and see if anything else comes up

  20. looks good to me, Just one more thing: Updating Java and Clearing Cache [*:7dfj6y8p]Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Java Icon (coffee cup) in the Control Panel. [*:7dfj6y8p]It will say "Java Plug-in" under the icon. Please find the update button or tab in the Java Control Panel. Update your Java then reboot. [*:7dfj6y8p]If you are unable to update you can manually update by going here: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp [*:7dfj6y8p]After the reboot, go back into the Control Panel and double-click the Java Icon. [*:7dfj6y8p]Under Temporary Internet Files, click the Delete Files button. [*:7dfj6y8p]There are three options in the window to clear the cache - Leave ALL 3 Checked Downloaded Applets Downloaded Applications Other Files [*:7dfj6y8p]Click OK on Delete Temporary Files Window Note: This deletes ALL the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the CACHE. [*:7dfj6y8p]Click OK to leave the Java Control Panel. When you've done that you should be clean. Download Ad-aware and Spybot s&D and run those to clean up anything I have missed
  21. looks alright just a few questions: 1) Did you add http://www.adorons.com to your trusted sites? 2) Did you install viewpoint media player yourself? ALso have you done the usual? Virus scans, spyware scans etc...
  22. I suggest you save this reply in notepad so you know what to fix... Close all open windows except HiJackthis. RE-open scan[Caution: Executable File] and fix the following: R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {4D25F926-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B7672BAF-E9A3-49B6-86B2-C81719A18A4C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\fvwfqydo.dll (file missing) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F4B71768-1E50-4823-8604-A77E13F1D913} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddaby.dll (file missing) O16 - DPF: {CD995117-98E5-4169-9920-6C12D4C0B548} (HGPlugin9USA Class) - http://gamedownload.ijjimax.co.....in9USA.cab O20 - Winlogon Notify: winbjt32 - winbjt32.dll (file missing) Reboot and post a new HJT log in your next post + how things are going right now. [any more pop-ups etc]
  23. The file itself is usually on the hard drive. it's in the memory if the virus is running.
  24. Ad-aware and spybot might not work. Try Ewido. ALthough it's a free trial it removes most of the virus. First download ewido anti-spyware from HERE and save that file to your desktop. This is a 30 day trial of the program [*:ea1ly24x]Once you have downloaded ewido anti-spyware, locate the icon on the desktop and double-click it to launch the set up program. [*:ea1ly24x]Once the setup is complete you will need run ewido and update the definition files. [*:ea1ly24x]On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "Update now" link. [*:ea1ly24x]Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. [*:ea1ly24x]Once the update has completed select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab. [*:ea1ly24x]Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine". [*:ea1ly24x] Do a full system scan with it
  25. I, personally just use Adaware and spybot. Spyware doctor gives me too many false possitives. (don't flame me for saying this...this was like 2 year ago) You can try windows defender from microsoft. That catches + removes a lot of stuff. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx Be warned. windows defender is still in BETA.
