WWIII - Oh teh noes...
It's not actually as bad as you think, for example, a few weeks after the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and radiation emissions from the ground [after the bomb, as the effect of the bomb] were measured and were at surprisingly low levels, and Hiroshima was deemed inhabitable. [Taken from the nonfiction book Hiroshima. Thats out of my memory reading it around 2 weeks ago for school]. Yes, nuclear weapons are more powerful now, but they wont be causing any type of incredibly serious world-spread contamination anytime soon.

WWIII - Oh teh noes...
It irks me when people think that the world is going to be destroyed in a modern 3rd world war. Speaking hypothetically, lets suppose Russia and China [despite them hating each other] team up against the US and the EU, and fight a world war, and lets say all the countries involved get their major cities and government offices taken down. Even in the countries involved in the war, there will still be millions of people left in the US, as well as all the other countries. No one would bomb North Dakota, no one gives a [cabbage] about North Dakota, as well as many other states. Even if they bombed all the major cities in California, there would still be thousands of people there. Same goes for Russia, there are people that live all over the place in Russia. Same goes for China, and Europe. And this is just counting the countries involved. Granted, there's still Canada, all of South America, all of Africa, all of Australia, some of Europe and America, and all of Antarctica, in case subzero temperatures are your thing. Not to mention the rest Asia [minus Russia and China]

career choices
Which is why I told him it depends on how far he actually wants to go in life. I guess if hes pondering between being a comp tech or a plastic surgeon, I should have assumed that he wasn't being too serious about the latter.
-
Do you think you have a soul?
Wow! because I totally implied he was wrong! I know hes right . I was wondering if he saves certain arguments because he has to pull them out so many times, it becomes convenient. Or if I was just having some deja vu

career choices
Ok thats cool then :), its just that the tech guys at, say, bestbuy, seem like lifeless drones who want to kill themselves. I guess I shouldn't have overlooked the fact that some really do enjoy it.

Do you think you have a soul?
I may be mistaken, but I could have sworn you said that exact same statement a few months back, minus the big bang thing. Maybe I'm just imagining things..

Kid checked out 3 times for possibly being a Terrorist
Then why do we have airport security? To protect people from blowing up actual planes or hijacking planes and using them as missiles, such as in 9/11. and @ defender, its alot harder to do in america then you think.. if it was that easy to accomplish, why dont we see terrorists running in times square with bombs strapped to them or massive car bombings in the USA. It's only easy over there because, quite frankly, they all suck at security.

I'd go for plastic surgeon by far, its an up and coming profession, and the amount of money you can potentially make is more than worth all the work for it. In my opinion, its also the most fun out of all of them. But seriously, if you want to be almost guaranteed rich, I'd go with plastic surgeon. Plus, if you start your own business, you can take off whenever you want. Surgery, in general, is a great profession, but they are mostly all hospital bound and have little freedom, so I would recommend plastic surgeon. Do what you want, but it all really depends on how far you want to go [monetary-wise] in life. The computer technician/programmer job is very limited. There are hundreds of people with that expertise, and you'll most likely land yourself in some big computer business as a drone. Electrician is an ok job also, but again there are so many electricians out there. But you can always start your own electrician business. And think about it for a second, computer technician is all about dealing with frustrated consumers who are almost completely ignorant on how to use their computer. You would be fixing computers day in and day out. I would probably shoot myself if I had to do that. It all comes down to what you really want to do though.

Kid checked out 3 times for possibly being a Terrorist
I dont think its the correct thing, and I do think the man at the airport should have had more common sense. I think it is wrong, excessive, and unfortunate what happened to this kid. I meant objecting to airport security checks such as metal detectors is stupid, not that checking him 3 times and arresting him is smart.

WWIII - Oh teh noes...
The B-2 stealth bomber Exclusive to the US Air Force I was talking about stealth bombers in general, I'm not sure if russia has one already, but they are developing one at the moment, due out 2011 or something around that, according to wikipedia.

Kid checked out 3 times for possibly being a Terrorist
Yes, I know its sad for the kid. Its almost as sad as me having to practically strip down this summer at the airport, but I'm happy were run like this. I rather be half naked in front of hundreds of people then be a hundred little bloody pieces, and if you object I personally think your an idiot.

WWIII - Oh teh noes...
Ok, mabye im wrong, but the reason i said it doesnt make sense is because wouldnt they just send targeted cruise missiles at the ship instead of wasting a perfectly good atomoic bomb? And both sides do have stealth bombers, to my knowledge. Hows the whole shooting bombs/missiles out of the air with lasers coming along also? I know its not complete but im curious. and @ assassin, the iraq operation is almost impossible to fight, by any army, just like vietnam.

WWIII - Oh teh noes...
I don't know, but America isn't unbeatable. U.S. isn't some country that can't be defeated, if you think that, your in the wrong reality. Lol, yes, right now? It's unbeatable There's a reason why America spends the most on military. They have control over the skies and the seas. When I said no country can invade because there's really no other country that can rival America's... Well, just look Imagine each of those capable of.. [/hide] Nice little toy ships you got there mister USA. Oh these? These are just my atomic bombs. Yes, because dropping atomic bombs on ships makes perfect sense.

Now I can imagine the people speaking like they do in The Departed [favorite movie]. Yay. @ Meol: You thought cape cod was a made up place :P ? I actually thought it was originally Japan because they soup up rice burners and do quite a lot of racing over there.

help me with my ipod lol....frozen dead..
Its probably going to happen again if you get your music through an illegal filesharing network. They do have ipod viruses and certain songs with the virus can make your ipod crash. Probably whatever song you were listening to at the time.

Soft Drugs: What gives?
Actully I don't agree, there will always be a "black market" type of thing going on in the drug world, people selling for cheaper, to younger people, etc. Legalizing them would not help at all imo. Yes it would, there could not be a "black market" if it were to be legalised... I believe he said "soft drugs". Last time I checked, coke, heroin, acid, meth etc. were not too 'soft'. He's talking about pot. There are still millions of coke addicts in the U.S., along with the aforementioned drugs. The black market will still very well exist. Its loosing its biggest drug, yes, but its also its cheapest drug.
