/My PhotoGallery. Updated: Beach and Sea!
Loving the latest pictures of the urban art or graffiti - however you see it. I will PhotoShop one of them as my photography magazine suggests you process graffiti shots. It may be a while though - I have loads of PhotoShop work to do for competitions plus my prelims are in January so I have to study. One slight criticism of one of the photos inside the building: You have stood in your own light causing your shadow to appear in the shot - if you go back again you could try a lower shooting angle. It might not be a good idea to go later at night when there is less light but if you feel safe enough - take your tripod and try some long shutter speed shots. You might get some interesting effects. This is the one I was talking about above:

Summer pictures added New York (Warning! Big pictures!)
Come on guys! Keep this post alive for a wee while longer do not let me kill another thread. After previewing post: Christ! I do not know why I keep getting back slashes before my apostrophes but I am going to type with no apostrophes at school as it seems to be happening only there. So I have edited the post to delete the backslashes and so on...

Summer pictures added New York (Warning! Big pictures!)
Number 1: Vertical rule of thirds is used - nice composition but I'm not too keen on the focusing in the bottom third, was it possible to get the same composition further back without the lens being so close to the ground. If it wasn't, you could try checking your manual to see if you have a manual mode - if you don't fancy taking dud photos with wrong shutter speeds, try finding the "Apeture Priority" mode which allows you to pick an apeture and the camera will automatically get the right shutter speed to correctly expose the shot. Try taking the shot with the smallest apeture available, perhaps F22 or the largest number after the F. The smaller the apeture is, the more of the shot will be in focus. However the shutter speed will be slower so you might need a tripod depending on the light conditions. Number 2: Quite a busy image. In my opinion, too busy. If ever faced with a busy frame with lots of objects - like the feathers and stray twigs - try to remove them. "When you remove the ugly, you are only left with the beautiful" - I'll get a name for that quote when I find it in one of my photography books. Try going back and trying a macro of one of the yellow flowers on its own - just put the lens fairly close to it and use apeture priority again with an apeture of F2.8 or an F-stop thereabouts. and focus on the flower. Number 3: The slanty horizon doesn't work in this photo (I think). I can see what you were trying to achieve with the soft focus but the composition just doesn't complement it. try again with a straight horizon. I'm gonna be writing less from here on as I'm running out of time. Number 4: Not much to critisise - the gaps between the rocks make great lead in lines and the tight crop works for the subject. Number 5: Not so keen on it as the soft focus (again I understand why you did it but I don't find it pleasing - sorry!) and the blue sea in the top right hand corner distract the eye from the subject which is already masked by the rock. Perhaps moving the camera round to the right would make the plant clearer. It is a nice plant - but let's see more of it. Walk around your subject before turning your camera on and clicking. Number 6: Perfect other than the squint horizon, other than that the composition is superbly balanced. Well done! Number 7: Nice but the tree is at an angle - I would have tried to get it at right angles with the bottom of the frame, but a nice shot none the less - try a tighter crop at the bottom to get rid of the out of focus bit. Overall: A nice collection of snaps there and great potential to improve your photography, you have the basics of composition and you're trying unorthodox techniques, which will sometimes work and sometimes won't. Great photos! Edit: don't know why back slashes are appearing next to the apostrophes - I hope it doesn't make it too hard to read. I'll edit it when I get home. Edit #2: Deleted the slashes - I think I got them all.

Some of the Best prank calls.
Any one from Scotland might have heard the "Real Wind Up" on Real Radio - I got my mum on that and my geography teacher heard... Oh boy... Another radio station did one on a pizza place. It went something like this... Caller: Hi do you deliver? do liver Pizza Man: Of course we do, would you like to order a pizza? Caller: Um... Yeah I'll have a pineapple and liver pizza please. Pizza Man: LIVER? Caller: Yes, you said you do liver Pizza Man: *groan* Yes it's not great - but I'll find the file and upload it and post a link later.

Flashing Lights (large photos)
Very nice - welcome back! Most are good but some (as you have admitted) are plagued with camera shake. My advice is to check your mount on the camera - most are screw in ones - and buy a tripod to suit that, it doesn't have to be expensive. I bought a Hama Star-42 for ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã15 and it's lasted me over 2 years and I used it last night to take a 10 second shot of moving traffic. I was pretty close to the traffic and I had the camera strap around my head and I pulled my head away slightly so I have a wee bit of camera shake, but nothing as bad as a handheld shot. Most of the shots work well despite the camera shake, if you used a shutter speed slower than 1/60s I applaud you =D> EDIT: What shutter speed were you using - and what apeture - I wanna know. I have to use F8.0 when shooting in the dark - it's the smallest apeture my camera has.

My Latest Signature
I brushed the background - black and white layer. Then created a new layer and brushed the red then created a new layer and brushed the yellow, so it looked like a fire or an explosion. Then I added the render and the text, merged all the layers and added a border. All done in CS2. Constructive critisism please? Updated the border:

can you type?
Talking on msn in the dark - got me a fairly good typing speed and accuracy as I liked to type correctly. If you just do that you should learn in no time.

Some new photos.
Some constructive critisism. As much as I like your photos, I feel the ones of the mushrooms could have been more dramatic, perhaps taking them at a lower angle and using something like a tissue to bounce the flash to illuminate the underneath of it, mushrooms are very photogenic if you can capture their detail effectively. I won't comment on the dog ones as you were experimenting but if you are interested in black and white photography, you may want to invest in a red filter - if you don't have an SLR just buy a cokin one and attatch it with blu-tac. It's not ideal but it works - just be careful with where you put the blu-tac. The one with the tree is nice, but I don't care for the burnt out sky, perhaps you could go back and set up your tripod and take the photo with the sky over exposed then take another photo from the same spot with the sky exposed correctly, then merge them together in photoshop. The above images show some detail under the mushroom, I used my tissue to bounce the flash, I had a cold and it was the only thing I had to hand. I don't know if it was possible for you to get any lower, perhaps there were nettles or something stopping you, your mushroom shots do work but they could show more detail like the ones above.

Halo Signature For My Friend
It did however, a couple of questions: 1 Would most render sites have C4D renders? 2 Could you recommend any tutorials for borders and signature making in general? Thanks, GreenSlime89
