  1. Unless we partner up and do a multi-fansite thing, we most likely won't have any holiday events in the future. If we do, it will likely be a staff member or regular user planning something on his/her own and then we'd advertise it on the main page.
  2. Thanks for your interest :) I'll send you a followup PM within the next week or so if we have enough interest from the community!
  3. For what it's worth, I do think Jagex will try to moderate the wiki to avoid copying and pasting from other fan sites.
  4. Generally the same feedback being posted here.. that we disagree with the changes, they will hurt fan sites, etc. We have chatted a bit with other fan sites enough to know that we all generally share the same thoughts and opinions. But this decision is pretty much set in stone and I think they've been working on it for quite some time so I definitely don't expect anything to be changed or reversed.
  5. Hmm, if this is the case, couldn't it be an option to break with Jagex as a fansite? I mean, they are clearly trying to hit not only Tip.it, but all the communities and fansites. I really think you guys should have a little discussion with other fansites and look into the option to stop being a bronze/silver/gold/platinum site, all together. I know it may a bit a harsh thing to do, because of losing out on some benefits, but look at what they did (RuneVillage for example) and what they are going to implement... Honestly, there aren't any benefits to breaking off from Jagex. As a supported fan site, we do get benefits. They might not be that great, and sure it seems like they're trying to support fan sites on one hand and kill them with the other, but the benefits are there. It's great having a direct link of communication to Jagex, support in our competitions/events now and then, and then things like a stall at RuneFest. If we break off from Jagex, we lose those benefits and gain absolutely nothing (except maybe a public declaration of "we don't like what Jagex is doing"). But in the end, we wouldn't actually gain anything from it. If anything, we'd probably be worse off because in addition to the updates that are killing fan sites, we'd also lose a link to Tip.It on the RSOF, maybe they'd censor "Tip.It" in-game, etc.
  6. Well right now we're looking for leaders who can be the ones who organize monster hunts and get things off the ground. Once we have a core group of people, we'll likely do a lot of discussing and figure out how we want to proceed and set everything up from there. So if you're only interested in participating, stay tuned and you'll find out more if/after this is implemented and starts moving :)
  7. The community in general is not very interested in the "party" type events, which is why we are moving away from that. There are a few people who are interested, but not enough to justify dedicating an entire team to those kinds of events. Honestly, our attendance numbers speak for themselves. Party type events almost always get <10 attendees (often ~6). Monster hunts usually get 30-150.
  8. UPDATE - SPOTS FILLED: Thanks to everyone for their interest and enthusiasm! Right now all of our team spots have been filled. However, everyone is welcome to attend our public events and we may be recruiting again in the future. Keep an eye out for our announcements! Because of the direction the community has taken in recent years, the Tip.It Staff is thinking about completely restructuring TET into an official Tip.It Monster Hunting Team. A few months ago we announced that TET would start putting more emphasis on monster hunting in their events, but we feel that more should be done to transition TET into a team fully dedicated to monster hunting. If there is enough interest from the community, we will completely rebuild TET from the ground up to accommodate this change. Right now, we are simply trying to determine if there is enough interest from the community. That's where you come in! Are you a monster hunter? In order to make this team successful, we need monster hunters! Our team will be composed of people who love monster hunting and set up events to kill bosses (God Wars, Corporeal Beasts, Nex, Tormented Demons, etc.) or raid dungeons with our community. The team members will be responsible for hosting the monster hunts, instructing others on what to do, and ensuring that the hunt is successful. At the moment, we do not have a defined set of requirements for these monster hunters and we would love to hear from anyone who is interested. If this is successful, later on we might impose some kind of skill requirements. Let us know if you're interested! If you think you might be interested in leading monster hunts, please send me a private message with your name, a few sentences about why you're interested, and any ideas you may have for the team. At the moment there is no strict application form since we're just trying to get a sense of how many people are interested and who those people might be. Who can "apply?" Anyone may submit their name if they're interested! It does not matter if you are already a part of staff (moderator, crew, etc.) or have a "bad" history on the forum. At this point, a history of breaking the forum rules will have very little impact on whether or not you are considered a good candidate for the team. We're mostly looking for people with a strong interest in monster hunting, decent monster hunting skills, and good leadership abilities. So if you have applied for TET in a monster hunting capacity in the past but were unsuccessful, please submit your name anyway! Questions or ideas? If you have any questions or ideas about this change, please feel free to post here or PM me directly. :) If we feel that we have enough interest, we will contact our promising candidates with more information and keep the rest of the community updated and informed!
  9. If Jagex really do explicitly tell their moderators (like somewhere in the mod forums) that any negative opinions should be voiced in private in the moderator forums, then I understand why these people were demodded. However, I'm someone of the opinion that everyone deserves at least one warning before action is taken. So assuming that Ken had never received any warnings, I think that would have been a more appropriate action than immediately demodding him. But I guess there are a lot of unknown variables here.
  10. Unfortunately we don't allow trust trading here because of the high risk of scamming or being scammed :( Sorry! You're welcome to create a new topic (or edit this one and PM me and I'll unlock it) to request assistance without the promise of payment.
  11. Honestly that FAQ has made me MORE disappointed with this update than I was before. Their reasons are just absurd. They're basically saying that legitimate F2P players' achievements don't matter and that the community basically asked for this update by wanting the removal of bots from the high scores.
  12. Really, really disappointing :wall: :wall:
  13. ^ This :) This forum is for general site feedback and discussion. Any actual errors should be reported through the Tracker tab at the top of the page in the correct section (they're divided into "coding" errors and "design" errors).
  14. I guess I just kind of feel like it's not her business and you can't keep holding her hand and catering to her for the rest of your life.
  15. there's also that. ... How does one tell their para-suicidal bipolar ex-girlfriend that's still in love with them that they are interested in having a relationship with someone else? I'm kind of scared for both her life, and my ex's life lol Is it necessary that you tell her? I mean don't lie and say that you're not but do you really have to report back to her?
  16. Well right off the bat jumping into sexual fantasy might be a bit much for some girls. Later on it's fine though. But tbh, "be yourself" and "avoid talking about video games" seem to be a bit of a contradiction :P
  17. Well the screenshot they provide seems to be of the media page so we still don't know what will be on the homepage.. but we'll see :P
  18. Correct. F2P will not be able to use stat signatures or the tool on calculators that automatically retrieves their stats.
  19. I can kind of understand not giving F2P that many updates and occasionally giving them the short end of the stick (since after all, they are not paying). But taking away features that F2P has had for years is a new low and something that I do not support. Their justification (wanting the high scores to be active members) is complete BS since they could easily implement an activity requirement or even have separate high scores. But there is no need and no justification for removing F2P from high scores completely.
  20. I understand businesses are about making money.. but if they're actually TAKING AWAY a feature from the F2P game, that would be a really desperate money-making move. Enough to suggest that they're not just money hungry, but low on money and need to get it anywhere they can.
  21. http://services.runescape.com/m=news/c=*MWYAgAUGiw/coming-next-week-new-website I'm curious to know what you guys think about the upcoming RuneScape Wiki set up, how you think it will affect fan sites, and whether or not you will continue to use Tip.It for your game information. And of course.. Jagex is actually cutting back on the features F2P have with the removal of F2P from the high scores. In addition to the regular concerns, F2P will no longer be able to use dynamic stat signatures or use or calculators' auto look up features.
  22. Thanks so much to our designer and awesome coders <3: I am incredibly glad to see this finally released and so close to replacing our current design ;)
  23. Calm down before you have a heart attack!
  24. Thanks, we'll take this into consideration :)
  25. To be honest, even after a billion farming runs I often times forget something totally obvious... like my hatchet. I always forget the bloody hatchet.
