As Sir_Squab said, it's mostly about new members. The main reason people use fan sites now is because at one point or another they wanted or need a resource to help them with the game. They needed a quest guide or information about a monster or a map of a location, etc. NEW users will now have this information available to them on the wiki so there are less reasons to go hunting for a different fan site.

We are happy to announce that two of our global moderators have been promoted to super moderators! Please join me in congratulating @Kimberly and @Quyneax! They have both done great work and as such, they are now entrusted with mighty ban hammers! Keep up the excellent work :) :thumbsup:

Week 45 - November 25, 2011 [hide] [/hide]

I'm really excited about this :) I have the books in my room now but haven't read them yet. Hopefully I will have time to get those done before the movie comes out!

I already gave my parents their gift: a home made 2012 calendar. I give them a new one every year. I have no idea what I'm getting my sisters... or my bf for that matter D: For Christmas all I want is an epic art book :P

I finally got in-game and I will say that I do like most of the new changes there.. all except for the new menu icons. They look a lot boxier and.. amateurish IMO. But I like the new tooltips, text changes, etc.

Everyone who signed up for the beta is invited to this weekend test :) Hopefully we'll get some actual game time in. At this rate (with the forum server being overloaded), who knows what the stress will be like on the game servers this weekend... I was invited to beta a few weeks ago and the game is pretty amazing :P I'm really, really looking forward to release.

Game Info > RuneScape Wiki > Scribbles & Sketches (near the bottom) > Players' Gallery I've decided that I'm not a fan of the website changes :( I was a little put off when I saw the teaser screenshot but I tried to reserve judgement until I saw the whole thing.. now I've really decided I don't like it. The design does feel very cartoony and "younger" than the previous layout. It feels a lot bulkier. There was something about the other design that made it feel cleaner and a bit more simple, and I liked that. Idk if it's just me but it this newer site feels more difficult to navigate through (for example, having to navigate through like 4 things to get to the Players' Gallery) and seems slower in general.

I haven't seen the new Twilight movie but I have read all the books and seen all the previous movies.. and I think they're rubbish. I'm not z0mg anti Twilight and found the books mildly entertaining.. but the movies are crap IMO. Bella has the exact same expression on her face throughout every single movie. The movies have horrible flow and I feel like 90% of the time it's just looking at shirtless men.

I'm assuming this applies for staff members as well? Staff members are not required to support Jagex's decisions. We're fully free to respectfully disagree or be critical or post a Times article saying that we feel Jagex made a bad move. As I said before, as long as we're being constructively critical and not just blatantly bashing them. Jagex has actually told us on several occasions that they appreciate negative feedback, as long as it is constructive. There's also a difference between posting our thoughts here and posting something against Jagex in an official capacity. We wouldn't create a new post saying "Jagex made a horrible decision, they're killing Runescape!!@!@ They suck!! Everyone revolt!" Not sure how Jagex would feel about that specifically, but I'll guess they wouldn't like it and I personally would find it to be unprofessional and unnecessary :P

I'm sure I could do better - I might go again :P I know what you mean. I'm loads faster when I'm thinking about what I want to type and then typing it vs looking at something else and trying to type that. EDIT: Take two (different script):

Seems like things are getting a little heated here... and a bit off-topic. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion - positive or negative - and people are welcome to voice those opinions. With regards to one of the comments above, Jagex has no problem with people being critical. But there is a difference between disagreeing with Jagex and constructively criticizing them, and blatantly/mindlessly bashing them. We're not going to force people to have an opinion one way or another, but we would like to stay away from any mindless, pointless bashing. But disagreeing with Jagex and being critical is perfectly fine. Jagex made it clear to us early on that they don't want to try to control what is posted on this forum (other than upholding basic RuneScape Rules like no selling gold, etc.). If they have concerns about people expressing their negative opinions of Jagex on fan sites, they will contact us to discuss it. but they have never seemed to have a problem with it in the past. Now let's stop jumping at peoples' throats please ;)

We may end up hosting a few of the popular mini games if people are interested in hosting them :) Because I definitely know what you mean about Castle Wars being popular, especially if it's a massive event.

People would be able to choose their own event times :)

http://open.tip.it/staff-list I'd like to see a bit more of a gap between each person on the staff list. Right now they tend to run together a little bit, particularly if two people in a row don't have a stat signature. I know it's actually quite similar (if not exactly the same) to the size of the space on the current site but the current site has a bit more contrast which makes it less of an issue.
