  1. You can do so at any level...but the higher the better. People need to read the guide a little better. The exp/cash per hour can only be determined by yourself. It's not like woodcutting or any other non-combat skill, where the speed is always in the ballpark, but in combat training, it's varied. People will get faster exp the higher the lvl, and it also depends on your luck for money.
  2. Mine is 80 range and 60 prayer. I had 75 range when I started a week ago. It took me ~2300 bars to get from 75-80 range, and 1 hp lvl (now 82). You can estimate the amount of experience from this. My trips are between 1.5-2 hours. I waste an hour talking/peeing, etc., basically, WASTING my time doing something else hehe. I take 20 (4) p pots with me too.
  3. If it were for me, I'd train prayer to lvl 60 first. It helps a lot =) You also need 70 strength to move the boulder from the entrance. Range is appropriate I guess...I had 75 range when I started, and after 7.5 trips, I now have 79. Expect great range exp =D Oh, and bring all the P pots you can.
  4. Not only that but some people also have a higher prayer level than others. Oh, and make sure you bring p pots (4) not (3).
  5. Thanks for replying for me lol. Couldn't have said it better *maybe*.
  6. So politely asking you to hop to another world because we were on a slow spawning world is crying? I kept trying to explain to you that it's faster for everyone if you attack several at a time and stay under constant attack, but evidently you just couldn't grasp that concept. So you would go out of your way to attack some of the ones that I had attacked to get them on me and you were crying because I hadn't finished them off. It's such a pain dealing with noobs who are just out to annoy people who are trying to train efficiently. Actually, you said, "Get off my world, noob." Dude, seriously, there are tons of Aviansies for everyone! How can you be so selfish? I understood that concept, but you kept on killing MY AVIANSIES! You continued to half-kill all yours, and after you did, you attacked another, and then another and so on. You had like 5+ that were half-killed attacking you! You should finish your kills....albeit it's not as efficient as having many attack you at once, finish them all off when you lowered all their hp to OHKO status, but dude, I was there. When I'm alone, that's fine for training, but when someone else comes along, have the courtesy to finish your kills! Oh yeah I was crying? You were the one who 1)started the half-killing, so I copied, and 2) you began to whine about it to me! Liberally using "noob" is "nooby" in in of itself. Just because you're a higher level than me gives you no more right to play this game anywhere. You have to be more selfless...especially with your, "Get off my world, noob" talk. EDIT: You know what bro, I'm sorry if I offended you or made you mad. I should have just swallowed my pride and just switched worlds; in that way I could have avoided all this. I knew better, but I just didn't want you to be all like, "yeah, you better get outta my world, n00b." I didn't want you to have the satisfaction of making me switch worlds. I let my pride get in the way of avoiding conflict. Sorry, once again.
  7. I only get ~330 kills per trip.
  8. Another thing I found out that is helpful is if you finished the Death to the Dorgeshuun quest, bring the Ancient Mace. It's special restores the same amount of prayer points as the hit you did; it's basically Guthans for prayer. It drains your full special, but it's worth it for it's prayer restoring properties. Another reason why you should finish Death to the Dorgeshuun!
  9. They drop Lvl 3 Clue Scrolls. I get one every single time (less than 50 kills I get one). It's extremely common.
  10. Actually he did. Oh and that's why you use protect melee for the beginning, or just heal it up while killing Aviansies with Protect Range pray on.
  11. I am lvl 97 and I find it difficult, in the past, to truly stay in there long enough with 20 lobster in my inventory. I find that I have to teleport much earlier than filling up my inventory with D Bones and Hides melee'ing. Unless you have 99's in stats this way is unadvisable. Ranging/Hallying from safespot is a much more convenient way to do this. You don't have to bring food, and you don't have to keep a lookout on your health. Obviously, this is a guide for melee'ing, but just wanted to warn those that want to melee: it is a bit difficult and will require monks or sharks to keep up with the damage taken. AND, 70+ agility = pwnage. You waste like 3-5 minutes getting there, while getting there through pipe (with 70 agility or 67+agility pot) takes like 2 seconds hehe...
  12. Heh remember me Berrakus? You were crying for me to leave "your world" remember? Hehe...oh and the thing about using Swordfishes to heal rather than have prayer on....I already stated that. See how long you were there, I'd think you'd have much more than that but whatever. Anyways, the Black D Hide Top w/ Monks Bottom is much better than Monk Top w/D Hide Bottom; proportionally, you lose around 40% range bonus when you use the Monk Top/Hide Bottom Configuration, while with the Hide Top/Monk Bottom, you only lose ~13% prayer bonus compared with the other setup. Obviously, most people can afford the original setup, and many either do not have a high enough prayer stat to make p pots effective (nor have money to afford a lot of prayer potions just to start nor the higher-end equipment) so this guide, I believe, is intended for those who have mediocre range (65+) and good prayer (55+). Otherwise, it'll really become frustrating.
  13. That is one thing that bothered me; I was worried about going there the first time through because of the many questions that went unanswered, plus the many things that were not explained well enough or the lack of focused maps for areas, such as WHERE to go (although stated in the guide, some of us prefer having an actual picture of where to go rather than bland directions). It is nerve-wrecking to try to attempt this on the first run due to the lack of detailed instructions, but later on it diminishes. I believe more people would be willing to go through this if you just went into more detail about all aspects of the trip, rather than just what to bring (and even then, it could still be explained in more detail).
  14. I have started doing this today and I gotta say...it really freakin' works! So far I have made ~350k in cash and have 520 addy bars stored away for future adamant boltage. There are a few tricks that I used to make hunting more efficient. 1) Whenever you see a Gorak or any kind of monster pwning an Aviansie, join in. Even better, if the Aviansie is almost dead, just deal the final blow, and you'll get the drop! 2) Whenever they drop Swordfish (I believe 5 at a time), and you have already stayed there long enough in which they stop attacking you, turn off your prayer and fight the lower lvl Avies without prayer. Whenever you get hurt, just heal with the swordfish. I was able to stay inside for quite a while longer using this method.
  15. I myself liked this guide. I have been self-sufficient in many things on my own for the most part (Herblore, Firemaking, Runecrafting, just a few). On skills that I have not trained yet to a reasonable level to help with training other skills, I just buy raw materials and use them. For instance, in fletching, I bought bowstring and yew logs. Yew logs = 300 gp each, bowstring = 200 each. I cut the logs and string the bows, and then in turn I sell the bows for 600 each. That's 100 gp profit per bow. That isn't much profit, but I do gain a TON of experience by doing all of this. I then moved on to making Mage Longs and High-Alchemy-ing them. Mage logs = 1k each, bowstring = 200 each. I then runecrafted (or bought) nature runes for 300 each. In total, materials = 1.5k. I then cut the logs, strung the bows, and alched the bows (whenever I got bored or watching anime) and in turn I would get ~1,527 gold from each alch. That's only 27 gp profit, but in turn I get a TON of fletching AND magic experience. The way that I train is to at least break even through all my processees, and at the same time gain a lot of experience. Your method may give 100% profit, but think about it this way: Let's say you have 91 runecrafting and another person has 91 woodcutting. Then you have 75 woodcutting and the other person also has 75 runecrafting. You each have the ability to cut magic logs, and you each have the ability to make nature runes at the maximum capacity. Which would you do? By doing both, you would actually LOSE money and make LESS profit than if you concentrated on one skill. This is by no means accurate, but at level 91 runecrafting, each P.Ess for making nats = 2 nats. That's 500 gp profit per ess (considering that each P.Ess=100gp). You will then be making a LOT of natures per hour. Now lets say you at the same time want to get mage logs for making mage longs. You will actually make less profit cutting mage logs because in the time it took you to cut the same amount of nature runes you would could have made a LOT more money (and profit) through making nature runes. Now let's flip it over to the other person. The other person cuts magic logs much faster than you would, but in turn would also make a lot less nature runes than you could. Instead, buy dividing up the jobs, each person can have maximum efficiency in what they do and make more profit than doing everything on their own. Now, the only flaw I have in my analysis (I hope) is that some people may have BOTH skills at that level (or more). That means, their outputs of supplies are equal or around being equal. That makes each job equally efficient, which in turns makes it viable to be self-sufficient. Other factors may also include but not limited to: enjoying a skill (I hate woodcutting, so I'd never do that for very long, but I enjoy Herblore, so I enjoy killing Chaos Druids for herbs), how fast you want to level up in a skill (I don't mind spending days getting my own high lvl herbs and 2nds to make potions, but I do not like spending my time cutting yew logs and making bows, even less to pick my flax and make bowstrings). See, in a sense, it is good to be self-sufficient and make 100% profit, but the time spending getting all those ingredients yourself may NOT be EFFICIENT. Pick your most efficient skill and use that skill to not only make training other skills easier, but also make a net profit (or break even). I feel as if I'm missing something from this post, but it's long enough as it is!
  16. AHAHAH! I did this to a n00b asking for free armor, and I traded hiim, and he chased after me for 10 minutes (I prepared a 4-dose super energy pot; I periodically stopped for him to catch up to me walking, then I'd dash away again)! It was sooo hilarious!
  17. I'm not lying. Why would I want or HAVE a need to lie? I don't need to lie to anyone. It may not be 10 dragons, but it's every trip to the steel dragons, so I'd say around 20-25 dragons (I fill up my inventory on dropped items/Dragon Bones before leaving). Although I cannot prove this, and I can't really make you believe me, it's the truth. If you want to still believe I'm lying, go ahead, because I know that I can't really prove it to you in any way =p.
  18. Lunar, what is the deadline for the results?
  19. Yeah, I never really counted how long it lasted, but I know it lasted for quite a while. Usually, when I kill steels/irons, I always get a lvl 3 clue scroll after 10 or so kills. I leave afterwards to do the clue because if I do finish it, that means when I come back to kill more dragons, I will have yet another chance at a clue. Even if, for whatever reason, I don't get any good drops from the dragons, the clue scroll usually balances things out (sometimes even moreso) =)
  20. I personally made a guide to killing Metal Dragons, and I have killed a few hundred to tell you how great it is! 1) Magic experience. Fire bolts w/Chaos Gauntlets = pwnage! You get so much experience from hitting high. I use around 600-800 chaos per trip (I always bring 1k just in case). I don't bury my bones, and I keep all the rune/dragon items I get. Chaos runes are much cheaper than using deaths with slayer dart or with fire blast (blast = 16 max; bolt w/chaos gauntlets = 15 max for less than half the price). I gained a few lvls from just fighting steels/irons. I think irons are much better to fight though, but I will kill around 1k one day just to make an analysis of the frequency of drops from both parties. 2) No food/prayer needed. Most high lvl monsters or even dragons require you to have one or the other, but for this case, you don't. For the price of 1 prayer pot you can buy 2-3 anti-fire pots. Combined with an anti-fire breath shield, you take 0 damage for around 10 minutes per dose. You can easily stay inside for hours on end if you'd like killing hundreds of dragons. Plus, since dragons always range you with their breath, you are in no danger of damage. I personally bring a few sharks for those times I make a mistake. 3) Awesome drops. I've only had a Dragon Spear drop once (a few years ago), and that was pretty cool! I also had a few rune item drops and a lot of other cool stuff as well. In the end, just with the dragon bones you get, you pretty much pay for the runes you have spent. If you sell bones, you come out with a little more than you payed for runes. If you use them for altar, even better =) All in all, I believe that maging steels/irons with chaos gaunts and fire bolt is economically suited for anyone.
  21. 1) Herblore. I freakin' LOVE herblore! 2) Agility. So easy, and I love the animation =) Plus, I can outrun j00! 3) Slayer. It's basically a "free" skill because I would fight these monsters (dragons, giants, etc.) normally, and now I can level up a skill WHILE fighting them? Plus, I'm able to get awesome drops? Now that's something else! I recently started liking it haha.
  22. Wow what sorryness this topic is. 25% of you actively talk and give good insight, while the other 75% of people just reaffirm a post given about 4 posts ago. I wasted 10 minutes reading the same ol' things, waiting for a good debate. Oh well.
  23. Sign me up. Just tell me the deadline for the results. I want to fight fire giants as slayer assignments. But if it's for a few days, I might as well just fight them normally. So if I know ahead of time, I might be able to get more than 1k results, ya know? Oh, and put me under the Ring of Wealth list. I need all the help I can get in gettin' rich haha.
