  1. Another thought about giving people guns to stop others from doing these shootings. Does it not require the gunman to start killing before he can be effectively stopped? In the case in hand, somebody viewing the film would have taken at least a few seconds to take out their gun, line up a shot and take it, all while the gunman was killing people. Along this line, the only thing more relaxed gun laws would do would be to lessen the dead, not prevent the killing.
  2. How about stopping a crazed gunman? That seems like a pretty good reason to me. If even one person in that theatre had a gun there would probably be 1\5 of the casualties that there actually were. Two wrongs don't make a right? If there were more restrictive gun laws, he may not have been there at all in the first place to carry out the shootings. However, to even do as you say, guns would need to be even more prevalent and that in turn would give the opportunity to have more lethal shootings. It's a real snowball effect which could have deadly consequences. The best way to stop it completely would be to have no legal guns. In the long term, strict gun laws are the only sure-fire way to limit lethal shootings. Or they could have run scared due to being completely un-trained in the situation, could have missed the gunman and got themselves shot, or even worse accidentally shot one of the other innocent people panicking and running in a dark theatre. In reality, civilians aren't rambo. The laws need to protect the people, not make the people need to defend themselves.
  3. I don't think it's stereotyping at all to be afraid and suspicious of somebody who is carrying a gun. There is no need whatsoever, not at all, not one minuscule good reason to be carrying a gun in public, so when you do, people will think the worst. We don't live in the wild west, we live in a civilised society, and relaxed gun laws are the one thing keeping the danger up at the moment.
  4. Again the US gun controls seem absurd to the rest of the world but are still strictly defended by gun-happy people. No civilised society needs access to guns other than possibly those used for hunting. When they are needed, the checks need to be much more stringent than the American system. In the UK, it is so hard to get hold of a gun that it is much less likely (and statistically less likely) for them to be in circulation. To those who say he would have got them illegally, you have to think about how much longer it would have taken and the chance that he could have been caught trying to do so. He managed to get guns and equipment which should have rang alarm bells immediately, but because the gun laws are so relaxed nothing came of it. some of these weapons would have been so hard to get even illegally in the UK, either limiting the damage he did or getting him caught in the process of acquiring them. I'm just not surprised that it happened in America of all places. It isn't only the gun laws, but that is the biggie.
  5. For that price not a chance. A game that old should be at most £5. It's not as good as the other entries in the series and even if it was, it getting quite old now.
  6. To be honest, on the mount and blade. Warband is going incredibly cheap on its own, and it's all you need to access the many great mods. The add ons look so-so, and you won't really want the original after playing warband. Get M&B warband. Went for Borderlands today. Almost got caught out. The front-page only mentions the original Borderlands, but if you search, the GOTY edition, which has a few extra is the same price, so definitely worth going for that instead.
  7. Bought Legends of Grimrock, waiting for it to download. Annoyingly. I brought HOMM 6 off amazon over the weekend for about £14, and it's taking forever to arrive. Now it's that price on Steam ><
  8. To be honest, it's no surprise that the home television channel will be supporting the home team. I bet the Italian television coverage was just the same. England deserved to go out, they looked so tired and just plain bad. They didn't run down the ball or seem to be trying at all.
  9. Yes! That guy is so funny. It's funny, but I can't ignore that it's back to front.
  10. I'm so amazed football doesn't have the same sort of line technology Tennis does. It's just absurd as to why it isn't there.
  11. Again, I think Croatia should have gone through and possibly won. A penalty call and then the goal against them to me looked offside.
  12. And the IGP is a lot better which will help with gaming at that price range. But how long would that be? And how pricey? Things are always being improved, if I wait for every improvement, I'l never have a new laptop hehe. It doesn't matter if it bothers you personally, it's how it affects your computer's performance. Shell out 20 extra pounds for the better quality product if you're making a long-term investment. There's only so much cleaning your vents can do for you when it comes to keeping your system cool. By that I mean the reviews have mentioned very little about heat, so it can't be that big of a problem.
  13. I think Denmark deserved to go through today. They played so well in all their games. Their defence just seemed to soak up pressure. They were quite unlucky against Germany, with a definite penalty call and the winning goal coming from an unlucky slip/slide to give away possession.
  14. I don't really see the point. Unless you want the exclusives, they have the same games and the quality of them aren't a whole lot different.
  15. I'm personally not too bothered by heat, which is why I'm gravitating towards the Hp.
  16. The time has come to buy a new laptop. I don't do any heavy gaming on it, but I do like to play the odd game. However, never anything brand spanking new, usually things at least 2-3 years old. The sort of games I would play would be things like Mount and blade, the original witcher etc. I would like to possibly be able to play Civ5 if I brought it, but I'm not bothered if I'm not playing it on maximum, or even high settings. My budget is between £350 and £400. Currently I'm looking to buy from PC world, as they are who I've brought from before, so I trust them. The current two I'm looking at are: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/lenovo-essential-g570-15-6-laptop-11884781-pdt.html and http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/hp-g6-1336sa-15-6-laptop-charcoal-12303695-pdt.html The second is the one I'm thinking of more, but I'm not sure if it will be more powerful enough as I get confused with the core numbers and general specifications. I'm also not bothered about going for a refurbished laptop if the price is good, but looking at the site, I didn't see any really good deals on refurbished for the price range. So, any suggestions, or would those two be good?
  17. Been playing Fable 3. Picked up the limited edition version that comes in a cool book-case thing with a special coin and pack of cards that was originally around £65 for £10. red loads of negative reviews about it beforehand, but I've been loving it so far. The best fable by miles imo. I don't get the negativity about it at all.
  18. I think the suspension is broken. In seriousness, it looks ugly imo. I think cars look stupid when lowered, which that one looks. My friend has a Volkswagen Ghia from the 60's which he's beyond all recognition. He can't barely drive it because it will scrape the ground.
  19. It's her job to check your ID. If it isn't up to scratch, it's your fault not hers. I'm not sure about there, but in the UK, a shop assistant can earn themselves a nice little £5,000 fine for selling anything requiring ID to somebody under age. Not illegal, but damn immature and stupid thing to do. Please grow up.
  20. Sorry 1 real game - WAIT MY BAD. TWO real games. That other consoles will have. ... ' - ' The two games I assume you mean are ZombiU and Rayman, which both look to be exclusives, or in the case of Rayman changed a lot for other consoles. I'd also call Avengers and rabbids 'real' games, but the othes are no less examples showing that the WiiU won't be left to survive with only first party games like the Wii. I could also see most of Ubisoft's games going to WiiU once it is released as they seem to be putting themselves out there as partners.
  21. One game from Ubisoft != having both. Rabbids Land, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013, Sports Connection, Just Dance 4, Avengers: Battle for Earth, ZombiU, Rayman Legends. I'm not great at maths, but that's a few more than one Kimberly  Anyway, I wasn't saying they had Ubisoft (I think that's what you mean by having both?), just that Ubisoft was boosted by some things which were shared by Nintendo.
  22. Well, Nintendo had Ubisoft so they both won.
  23. 2 gamepads! The biggest fault is no more imo.
  24. If you have never been hacked, why does your video claim that you have been hacked due to the swiftkit hacking? (which if I understood the comments from the Swifkit devs, actually required the user to accept a java popup to happen, so the fault is on the user). I would say most 'hacks' come from account recoveries or people being frivolous with their password. I won't deny many people do get their account hacked due to infection, but many of those probably won't take the bank pin either. Against an infection, it is up to the user 100% to protect themselves, as Jagex can have no real control over your actions outside of their game. With non-infection 'hacks', the bank pin works wonders.
  25. Firstly, It's up to you not Jagex to keep your computer safe from Viruses and Keyloggers. Jagex tell their users all the time not to download potentially dangerous programs and files from the internet. They also suggest antiviruses which should protect your system should you download something bad. If you get one of them on your system, it is your fault and your fault alone. Secondly, how are Jagex meant to change the system? You give no suggestions whatsoever, simply the demand for it to be changed. Whatever system they put in place, a badly downloaded program or file by you, the user, will be able to circumvent it. In the end, bank pins are not useless at all. They are a very good way to protect your bank in the event that your account is breached by a third party. It is up to you to make sure your system is secure when using the bank pin system.
