  2. I've read in my works Music and Video magazine that they are working on chips so that you can play Blue-ray and HD on every player.
  3. DVD: Tomb Raider Tomb Raider II CD: John Legend - Get Lifted Jeff Buckley - Grace (finally bought it >.> I kept forgetting about buying it. )

    Tool?

I'd say start with Aenima, it's more 'accesable' then Lateralus. But it's also less mature than Lateralus. They're really pissed off on Aenima, everybody is getting it; no-one is spared. Lateralus is a thematically more complex album, and better thought out. I think some knowledge on the band and it's sound would help you appreciate it more. Atleast, that was the case with me. But you could blindly buy Lateralus and Aenima at the same time though. Undertow, Opiate and 10.000 days would come later. :)
  5. It make sick watching it. Absolutely annoying. Especially these naive fathers who think they can hire Beyonce for their daughters birthday party. Anyway, there's nothing I can say that's already been said.
  6. Not playing anything at the moment, but I feel like sharing my playlist from work today.. Room Eleven - Six White Russians and a Pink P-cat (it censors the P word >.>) Death Cab for Cutie - Plans John Legend - Once Again Justin Timberlake - Futuresex/Lovesounds Editors - The Back Room Lupe Fiasco - Food & Liquor Hit zone 38 With exception of Hitzone 38 (which is just a compilation of our Dutch top 40 which has TOO much badly done dance music on it) all the albums are recomendations. :)

    Defining Emo

I watched till "Defining Emo" after that I had to turn the sound off, because my parents are watching something on t.v.. So I'll continue tomorrow. It opened quite nice, to be honest, with the band montage and voice over, giving a very brief history of 90's rock music. The pulp fiction opening was a nice touch as well.
  8. I treated myself a DSL yesterday, and I figured I should get some games with it. So I bought New Super Mario (<3 great times) and Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. Especially the second one is really good so far! And I'm thiking of getting Kirby's Canvas Curse.
  9. Hmm, I bought a Nintendo DS with two games, so I can't buy too much DVD's/CD's this month, but anyway: Francois Ozon box containing: Sitcom Swimmingpool 8 Femmes Sous le Sable 5x2 Le temps qui reste Les amants criminels Gouttes d'eau sur pierres brÃÆÃâÃâûlantes Major Payne and CD: The Clash - London Calling.
  10. Children of Men - Not all that great. The main thing is: it looks really, really good. And using King Crimson in your soundtrack gives you a plus as well. Other than that, I could never get involved the least bit, and that wouldn't be that bad if it had some depth to compensate this. But this wasn't the case either. Too bad; good concept, average workout. 6.5
  11. I don't know what is wrong with this forum. But I reported this topic yesterday because it is crap. And it is still open? I don't get it anymore. *shakes head*
  12. Well, then. I'll put it differently. Surely some discussion is encouraged on this forum, as it is a forum after all. And as it is related to the topic it isn't off topic either. LP, could you explain to me why you always say "Pink Floyd" and "Dark side of the Moon", on nearly every thread related to music. Is this all the music you listen to? Or do you honestly think that Dark side of the Moon outrules all other music? Why can't you just put a normal list with 10 albums, or a little more like everybody else?
  13. The Criterion one has got a lot of extras. You can regonize it at the small white letters at the top of the DVD cover saying "The Criterion Collection" and a spine number as well. http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=3637 Glad to see you liked Cacḫ̩̉̉, Satenza. Did you see it in cinema? Or on DVD? When I saw it first time in cinema I hadn't heard anything about that shocking moment, it was horrible to see. And when I saw it the second time in cinema, I was really like 'waiting' for that moment, but it was, surprisingly, horrifying. pfilc23, haha, that's funny. :P I can entirely imagine the situation, you're in the big black room, one bends over with a funny face in bill and ted style (early 90's uh:P) and says "Dude...? I've seen this". :D
  14. After the somewhat disappointing The Aviator, and quality Dylan documentary No Direction Home film-beast and critics favorite Martin Scorsese is coming back to the big screen. With, who could have though, a remake of a HK-crime classic, The Departed. Now everybody was a bit ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãânervous̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢, it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a remake of the very successful (both commercially and with the critics) Mou gaan dou (Infernal Affairs), and Scorsese̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s last movies weren̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t that great. But Scorsese is still Hollywood̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s favourite son. With an equally impressive cast (Infernal Affairs had an all star cast) consisting of actors such as Leonardo diCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin and last, previously least (don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t know about this movie), Mark Wahlberg, and using his now standard team of Howard Shore for music, Michael Ballhaus for cinematography and famous female editor Thelma Schoonmaker, Martin Scorsese started working on his new masterpiece. The movie has been released in several countries now (I have to wait, it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s only in Holland from the 9th of November), and Scorsese has proven that the American re-make of a foreign country movie isn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t bad persÃÆÃâÃâé. I think it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s an understatement to say that it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a successful movie, because, yes this is unbelievable. It entered the IMDB top 250 on the 56th spot after 16 K votes. Now everybody was convinced that this spot was going to be lowered. But now, after 21 K votes, the movie has risen to the 48th spot (!), thus entering the top 50. Of course that isn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t a label for quality, as IMDB mainly consist of immature folk that don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t really know that much. But on the quality and somewhat more realistic website Rotten Tomatoes the movie is still 93% fresh! And that after 180 reviews! Now it is all well known that Martin has never received an Oscar for his movies, and that while he makes such great movies, and is such a passionate lover for the movies. Would this movie change all that, and will Marty finally go home with an Oscar? I sure hope so, and I haven̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t even seen the movie yet! So, are there any fellow forumers who have already seen this movie? Did you have any special thoughts on it? Was it especially brilliant or was it a big let-down? Are the rumours and headlines "Better than Goodfellas" really true? Are there any forumers who haven̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t seen this yet and looking forward seeing it? And also welcome in this topic: purists who claim that Scorsese has committed blasphemy by remaking Infernal Affairs. Official website IMDB Rotten Tomatoes The Departed @ Wikipedia
  15. How about no. Just post normal, you expect people to stop posting this because it annoys you. I expect you not to constantly repeat yourself because it annoys me.
  16. You already said that. Why are you constanly repeating yourself?
  17. Hmm, there aren't much people giving in their songs. How could this be? Do they think they aren't good enough? I hope not. And to get you all motivated, I recorded some of my own singing. After this, you won't be a afraid of giving us your entry! http://rapidshare.com/files/343266/heyj ... k.wav.html How2PK sings Hey Jude. [edit]Due to Bubsa's ban, I will replace his function till he comes back from his ban.
  18. Haha, the second one was quite hillarious.
  19. You should go for the five hour version of Fanny och Alexander, Indy. :) It's totally awesome, and FAST. It's Bergman's last movie as a director. There's an amazing box released by criterion. It contains: The five hour t.v. version (<3) The three hour cinema version and copied right of the criterion website the extras: Ingmar Bergman̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s feature-length documentary The Making of Fanny and Alexander, presented here for the first time on DVD in a new high-definition digital transfer Ingmar Bergman Bids Farewell to Film, a 60-minute conversation between Bergman and Nils Petter Sundgren made for Swedish television in 1984 Audio commentary on the theatrical version by film scholar Peter Cowie A Bergman Tapestry: Fanny and Alexander, a new documentary featuring exclusive interviews with cast and crew Rare introductions by Bergman to eleven of his films Those are most important extras, you've got some trailers and stills as well. It's around 50 USD I think. Last night I've seen Yojimbo (hey, it's kurosawa rewatch week ;)). And it was very good. I don't have anything to say about it.
  20. Anyway 10 good albums of which I think they should be 'up there': Bob Dylan - Blonde on Blonde (1966) Deep Purple - Made in Japan (Live album - 1972) TOOL - Aenima (1996) The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers (1971) The Beatles - Revolver (1966) Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (1959) Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (1973) Paul Simon - Graceland (1986) Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Rust Never Sleeps (Live album - 1979) Mothers of Invention - Freak Out! (1966) Oh, it was favorites. Well, they can go for favorites as well, as I like to hear them often.
  21. It got posted on here pretty recentely.
  22. I don't really see why the rules can't be adjusted a little bit, if it makes things better. And I don't see why leaving a little note of [edited this post due to this and that rule, edited by ] would take a lot of the moderators personal time, even if they have to do it 10 times a day. I mean, you didn't become a moderator for nothing right? When you take the job you know you have to invest a little more of your time in the forum than the regular user. If you can't handle it time wise, then quit the job. It would also be nice if there would become a guideline on how to act for moderators, that they mod in the same style. Because now, one does this, another one does that. It doesn't make things very clear to the users.
  23. If you think they are full of crappy songs, then buy the hit single. Costs you even less, and you've got a cool b-side not featured on the album.
  24. Is it just me or? This topic has been locked two times because some other guy openend it, on practically the same crappy way. And now that MPC opens it it stays open and gets positive replies. =;
  25. Buy your music and you'll never have a problem, no spam, no trouble with RIAA. No nothing.
