  1. The Wild Bunch A great western by Sam Peckinpah about a bunch of demoralised and overaged cowboys still trying to make something out of life and kept together trough some kind of code. As often with Peckinpah this movie involves the relation between two men (not sexual of course), betrayel etc. Also this movie features a lot of violance which is perfectly captured on the screen. Giving a new type of western. The movie is filled with all kind of little details which makes the movie even better. I'm not going to mention which little details, because that would be too much work. Just go and see this movie! It has got a lot to offer. 8/10 Star Wars: Ep. II - Attack of the Clones The second STAR WARS movie. I thought it was pretty good. Only lack was Hayden Christensen's HORRIBLE (I might even say one of the worst preformances EVER) acting. And sometimes there were some weird things that didn't seem right. The acting over the entire line of the new series is less good than the orignal movies. Though STAR WARS has never been about top notch acting, still it always had something special, something fun. But this is just plain annoying. But luckily there's enough to make up for Hayden's horrible acting. Which still makes the movie more than enjoyable. 7.5/10
  2. I heard a lot of things about BRICK. Things like best movie this year (and it's not the first idiot who says that to put it on a DVD cover) etc. It's a sort of combination between highschool and filmnoir. I'm going to see it the 29th of august. I can't wait. You guys in the UK etc. can already rent it!
  3. Ordered. And another Bergman box from my parent ordered for my birthday. It contains: Kvinnors vÃÆÃâÃâäntan DjÃÆÃâÃâävulens ÃÆÃâÃâöga Persona
  4. Had a forummeet/moviemarathon yesterday night... Batman (1966) My favorite Batman movie. It's so funny. And Adam West is the BEST Batman ever! Eraserhead (1977) The first feature length Lynch movie. You can't really compare it to his later work (Mulholland Dr., Wild at Heart, Blue Velvet etc.), because this one hasn't got much 'form'. This is more of a Bủ̮̱̉uel movie than a typical Lynch. A very good movie nontheless. Manages to create a great disturbing and nightmarish-atmosphere. It's not for everybody though. But if you're a Lynch fan this movie is MUST. Weither you like it or not. ;) Xing xing wang (The Mighty Peking Man) (1977) A cute King-Kong rip-off. Obviously the quality isn't very high but the hot jungle girl saves the movie. Worth a watch and ideal for movie marathons. :) Sunrise: A song of two humans (1927) I saw this a couple of weeks ago, but I wanted my friend to see this movie as well. One of my favorite movies and in my eyes the best movie from the silent era. I think what I wrote previously had more to see, not going to do it all again. :P Ilsa, Haremkeeper of the Oilsheiks (1976) The sequel to the succesful and somewhat sick ILSA, SHE WOLF OF THE SS (1975). Some cool torture moments and of course a lot of nudity. ^.^ Though trough the unexpected succes of SHE WOLF they wanted to go a little bit more mainstream and made this movie a little bit less HARDCORE. Zombiegore (2003) A cheap homemade zombiemovie. Sometimes drags on a bit too much, but the scene with the German woman and her son make up for everything. This movie proves you can make anything you want. Look for a download, because this isn't available in stores. Oh, and later when the guy left I saw: Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) When you see the title you might think this is an action movie. But it's not realy. Of course it has got some elements in it, but it limits itself to a few ice-cold kills. Still it's a good movie, a good score, good acting, good visuals though the movie is a bit too pretentious at moments. Still worth a watch, especially for samurai and Jarmusch fans. Muderball (2005) A very good documentary about Weelchair Rugby (or MURDERBALL). Normaly this type of stuff is either a documentary about people in a wheel chair acting tough and independant or it's a documentary on gaining pity. This one has the perfect combination and everything is balanced out very well. Sometimes very emotional and sometimes you're laughing your behind off. A very honest AND confronting documentary that gives a good insight to the sport and the people playing it. A must see!

    Snakes on a Plane

yea, I'm quite curious to seeing it. Though there's been too much hype IMO. But I still want to see it. :)
  6. Nice living room! I'm loving the sealing. Yea, I know sounds weird. But it looks great! Nice room and DVD collection as well, Ant!
  7. Yea, you're a cheesy b-word (you know, A woman considered to be spiteful or overbearing - Dictionary.com). With your "Shine on Syd, I'll see you on the Darkside". REMOVE THAT HORRIBLE LINE!
  8. You say we are the childish ones. But you're the one saying the remote sucks. You haven't even played it! You're judgement is based purely on it's looks, not on what it can do. Ever heard the saying "Never judge a book on it's cover"? You're also making a big mistake in saying Wii is aimed at a younger audience. With the Wii gaming is aimed at a whole lot diverse public than it was before. People want FUN games, saying a game is childish because it has flashy colours is CHILDISH. You're probably like a 14 year old puber or something (sorry other 14 year olds that aren't that stupid)? And you want to act tough for not liking games with flashy colours, Mario and Peach. If you actually took a look at the list with games that are going to be relased for nintendo (click here) you can see that there ARE titles which should appeal to 16 years old who want a game full of blood. You're talking about the ENORMOUS risk SONY is taking with their new blu-ray added to the PS3. How about the risk Nintendo is taking coming out with a new gameplay. Something that DOES contribute to gaming, instead of a new video play system. I'm guessing Sony just rammed in the BLU-RAY player so their PRODUCT can compete with HD-DVD.
  9. Parents are helped with the parental advisory sticker. Seeing that sticker shows that the music isn't realy for children. They can decide for theirselves, weither they want their children to hear it. With good education and parental guidence you can help children to understand that not every black man is a "[racist term] from da westsaid who glocks his 8MM" (or w/e). But who decides what a 'bad' word is, and why is it bad? Why can't you say the F word? What is so bad about it?
  10. This topic isn't about America. Neither is it about Christian schools in America or the availability and accesability of information in the Phillipines. If you want to talk about that: open a topic in Off Topic or take it into PM.
  11. Alright then... Pulp - Different Class. Oops, Riz beat me. Didn't see the new page thing. [edit] Now it looks like I used Rizla's answer to goodle for PULP albums and recognize the cover. >.> Rizla's turn. :) [edit] Matt, this one wasn't like the u2 cover though. :P I mean, Pulp isn't that famous outside the UK. :P
  12. Because they can hear those lyrics doesn't mean it will be the language they always use. It's the parents task to bring up their children properly, if done correct they really don't have to worry their children listening to 'nasty' words. The entire concept of 'nasty' words is lame. You can say "let's have sex", but you can't say the "let's F word", they mean exactly the same, only the word is different. It doesn't make sense. Besides it's the parent's responsibility, not the artists. Me and my brother have always listened to uncensored music, I bet you have as well. And I can't say I'm a profane, racist or sexist person. And for as much I know you, you don't seem to be either. And to be completely honest: I don't know anybody in friends(which has got a large variety) or family who is. And they ALL listen and listened to uncensored music WITH 'dirty' WORDS.
  13. There's no need to. You agree that they have a reason to censor those words and why? Because kids frequent these forums. The same logic applies to censorship on anything. You asked if they got a reason to censor those words? I said No. That means they haven't got a reason to censor those words. So, answer my question.
  14. Seems like the Tip.It admins censored these 'nasty' words as well. Are you telling me that what they have no reason to do so? Nope. Now answer my question.
  15. I wouldn't know. Looks like a normal question to me. Might want to ask some others before answering though. Just to be sure.
  16. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/079073 ... 05?ie=UTF8 You can buy 187 pretty much everywhere. It's cheap as well.
  17. You've got a parental advisory sticker. Besides, why should children be 'protected' for those 'nasty' words?
  18. I don't know, so I don't know if they're good or EVILLL. But I like it. I mean, the EUROPEAN UNION, that sounds so good and mighty it can't be bad.
  19. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=473938 There's one already on the M&M forum. I don't watch Anime series btw.
  20. The Frighteners - The Directors cut. It was quite funny, and entertainng. Nice effects and so. But there's nothing much to say about really. Other than Harry Potter used the design of the grimreeper for their dementors. I enjoyed it, a bit too long maybe. Heat - In my eyes Michael Mann's masterpiece (although I haven't seen THIEF and THE KEEP). You can really see it's a Mann movie. He's got such a great eye for action and has got the got an almost unique talent of making movies in big cities, and displaying their beauty so masterful. The only downside is that maybe there were too much storylines involved making the movie not too long, but everything got a little bit less around 50 minutes, for about 20 minutes I think. And Pachino was a bit annoying sometimes. But of course the action after the bank robery and the showdown makes everything better. 8.5/10 Fa yeung nin wa - Probably Wong Kar Wei's best know movie. It's about two couples moving in a two appartments as their neighbours. We got Mr. Chow and his wife, and Mrs. Chan and her husband. Mrs. Chow and Mr. Chan are gone all the time, and Mr. Chow and Mrs. Chan discover that. What follows is a very sexy and subtle movie, but without sex or any form of pshysical contact. I saw it before, a while ago. And felt like seeing it again yesterday, because on my first time I wasn't very concentrated. Which is just what you need to see this movie, a lot of concentration. This comes especially because you never get to know when there's a new meeting trough a certain development or something, it can always be recognized by Mrs. Chan's clothing, which of course seems to be easy enough to stay focused on. But in every shot there is so much to see, there's so much beauty that you easily forget to look at the clothing and therefor lose a little bit. And even if you don't pay attention for half a minute, you entirely lost touch of the movie. Litterally every shot is of very high quality, from walking down the stairs, smoking a sigarette, sitting in front of a mirror, and all these small things you see with the little things as holding eachothers hand. And all that comes with unique editing, good acting and a very well timed and high quality score. A very memorable movie. 9/10 DVD's available And if you liked IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE you might want to check out it's sequel 2046
  21. So yes, he is judging what America 'has become' from a video two decades old. I mean Zappa said HEADING, not Api.So Api is only saying Zappa is right from something Zappa 'predicted'. I can't see what's wrong with that or how is judging America from a video. He's judging America from a comment made by a musician on that show. Sure, it said it was heading to a fascist theocracy, but did it really happen? If it did, rap songs would've been banned left and right. Sex wouldn't exist on tv right now. But what happened? You have cartoon sitcoms that involve sex and cursing, shows like Desperate Housewives or Sex in the City that is nothing more than a bunch of women being * out. I don't know if it really happened. Api said it, not me. Ask Api. And when was the last time the American government banned a song for its lyrics? I don't know, and I'm not accusing the american government of censoring songs. I'm merely interested if you guys think censorship should in arts should be done or not. Cursing in a rap song is different from cursing in a movie because AFAIK, there is no such thing as a song rating system. So, because there's no rating system there's a difference in the words and their meaning?
  22. Why should it be censored then? And Api wasn't judging America from a video two decades ago. He was judging America on something that was said in that video two decades ago. And the thing said was that America was HEADING towards a fascist theocracy, so I can't see anything wrong in what Api said. Other than being a little bit off topic, but we can handle that. Oy, you could use a different word in real life as well, shen you spill coffee. Tarantino uses the swearing also for stylish reasons, just like his excessive use of violence. Not that I'm having problems with it, I'm against censorship. But I honestly can't see why a cussing word in a rap song is any worse than when it's used in a movie.
