    I just have not been able to enjoy a shooter since the first modern warfare came out when I was 13 lol, and even then I only liked it for the sake of having a splitscreen game to play. I tend to have pretty weird tastes in games compared to most other people I've met though
  2. Went on my first tinder date in like a year tonight and now I remember why I stopped doing this lol. Idk she was cool and it was fun talking to her but there was just no physical chemistry in person. Just gets frustrating when this seems to happen with tinder so much lol

    Today...

    yoo, haven't really posted here in a minute but things have been going pretty well for me lately! I've been having a lot of visitors from home this month which has been super fun. Got to see some friends from college, then my parents, then this last weekend my best friend from Michigan came out here which was an absolute blast. Now this weekend I'm on my way back home for a music festival (fourth year going to blissfest woooo). Flying out tomorrow and I just cannot wait, my mind has been completely turned off at work in anticipation. flying spirit for the first time tomorrow though, wish me luck ;_;
  4. whoa I haven't seen your name around here in years dude haha, how's everything going? That new Chelsea wolfe song was amazing, super stoked to see what she does with the rest of that album I've been listening to the new Vince Staples and Washed Out albums pretty obsessively lately. plus hnnnnnnngh just a couple more days til new Broken Social Scene, it's so hard not to cave to this leak haha
  5. Yeah you're in for such a treat dude, saw one of the first shows of the tour back in May and it was incredible edit: that was @ albel, haven't logged in in a bit and didn't notice there was another page that popped up lmao

    I feel like I never post here because I always feel like I have to catch up on all the time since I last posted and I end up putting it off since I don't want to do it lol. but tl;dr things have been going pretty well, Prague was an incredible trip, job has been going a lot better, I've been running a lot more, and started taking a swing dance class haha. Also, I saw Radiohead this weekend. Might be the best show I've ever been to. They're just such a ridiculously incredible band. Today I went to a performance art exhibition that one of my coworkers was performing at that he invited me to. It was... pretty bizarre lol but there were some really cool performances mixed in with the ones that went utterly over my head lol. They were themed around mental illness. , but it was pretty vague. My coworker did this collaboration with a dancer where they had a live feed of the room they were in projected onto a screen behind them, but with random frames from earlier in the feed mixed in so that time felt like it was jumping all over the place. The two of them were making slow gradual movements throughout their stage area, but the feed behind them made the same movements seem choppy as they were continuously replayed. They both also read poetry they wrote over the entire thing. I'm doing a shitty job at describing it but it was a really cool effect. Another piece tried to capture anxiety, but was pretty bizarre and had a girl slithering around like a snail eating kale out of a bowl face-first while another woman frantically rearranged flower petals on the floor and tried to force the snail-girl into making human movements while a third woman played a live violin piece under it all and projected a movie she filmed about snails behind it. I really... did not understand that one too much lol but it was still an interesting thing to see I guess. Definitely worse ways to spend a thursday night lmfao
  8. Yeah people never really take U2 seriously I feel like. I dig Achtung Baby from time to time though I haven't actually listened to the joshua tree. Have you heard kendrick has a U2 feature on his upcoming album though lol?
  9. Yeah I mean the song was just released to build hype, it won't actually be on the new album. One of the producers that was interviewed for it said it had a southern memphis sound with a ton of crazy influences so I'm excited. Kendrick's my favorite rapper though and I love how he never does the same thing twice I like Saturn Barz, though yeah autotunes Gorillaz stuff was weird for me haha. Still will definitely check the album out when it drops Also super excited that Fleet Foxes and Animal collective both just announced Seattle tour dates today. this is going to be such a good summer
  10. new Kendrick song [bleep]ing rules and this album will be something else
  11. New fleet foxes song is wonderful, super glad to see someone else posted it here haha. Though I'm pretty salty that they're a band from Seattle and haven't included any Seattle dates on their current tour ;_;
  12. Holy shit that song you posted is incredible, I'll definitely have to check out more Ulan Bator I couldn't really get into the Bonobo or xx albums for some reason, idk why because I love their previous stuff. Also new SOAD what???? I never thought I'd see that day haha, 7th grade me would be shitting bricks right now
  13. Figured I would actually make a new thread here for a change haha. This is a place to discuss anything about music that comes out this year - your favorite songs/albums that have come out, anything you're excited for that's coming out, any concerts you're planning on going to this year, etc. I'm hoping we can have a bit more discussion here than we typically get out of the what are you listening to thread. Anyways, I'll start. The start of the year has been pretty slow but there have finally been some good albums starting to come out! I've been obsessing over this new Teen Daze album. Really beautiful ambient indie stuff. I've been digging the new Sampha album a lot too. At its core its some really well-produced R&B, but its super well done. He has a super unique voice, a really ineresting lyrical style, and a bunch of really diverse influences in his music. Not the biggest name, but for anybody who listened to Kanye's The Life of Pablo last year he was the guest vocalist on his song Saint Pablo. This is one of my favorites from the album: As for things I'm excited for, Future just announced a new album coming out this Friday that I'm hoping is good. Considering going to see him this summer but he's playing at an outdoor venue that's kind of far from my city so I'm not sure if I'll be able to swing it. Animal Collective has an EP coming out this friday too that I hope is good but after how disappointing the first single was and how mediocre last year's album is I'm not getting my hopes up too much. How about the rest of you all?

    oh hey you're using my company's surveys lol I've had a pretty solid day though. Had a good conversation with my manager today and it seems like he thinks my performance is getting better which was really good to hear after how rough my last quarter was. Had a pretty good gym day too and I managed to fix a batch of shitty chili that I made this weekend. It was the first time I made the recipe and apparently I forgot to add salt and pepper - it's just stupid how much difference that makes. There's a reason why wars were fought over this shit lmao
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF6x7g5ZfwM Vince Staples is just so stupidly good

    I'll be in Prague for the most part, taking a trip to Germany for a couple days in the middle and going back. It's only a week long trip unfortunately.

    I just realized I haven't actually posted here in like 2 months lol hi Things have been alright for me though. Ended up getting a bad rating for my first quarter on my job because I was still trying to learn everything and took a performance hit from my depression flaring up being pretty bad for my first couple of months out here. I'm doing a lot better with that kind of thing now though; I've been a lot more efficient this past month and I've been focusing on myself a lot more outside of work too. I ended up joining a soccer team at work which has been a blast even though I haven't officially played a game yet and I've been teaching myself how to actually cook like a real person now instead of relying on my nasty college bullshit recipes and it's been working out pretty well! Never thought I'd actually be able to enjoy cooking but it's super relaxing when you're actually making something good haha. I've also been a lot better about running and going to the gym about twice a week each on top of soccer practice and being active has definitely helped me with my mood and mindset. I've been trying to make more time for playing/making music and reading over getting high and scrolling through reddit and playing games which has been helpful too. Still working on a social circle but it's getting better; I have a couple solid friends out here now and I get along with my roommate and his group of friends pretty well too so I can generally at least do something most weekends, and I keep myself occupied enough during the week to stay satisfied. My roommate and I are throwing our first party at this new place and I'm pretty hyped for that. Now I just have to try to find more ways to meet people outside work. I wanted to sign up for a dance class but a lot of the ones near me filled up super quick so now I'm trying to find some other way to break out of my comfort zone socially, but I guess I still have time for that. Oh, and I'm 3 weeks away from my trip to Europe! So that'll be suuuuuper cool haha Today I had a pretty mediocre but decently productive day at work. Got a decent run in after though and tried a couple new recipes out. I ended up making breaded chicken cutlets and wine-glazed brussel sprouts and they came out really well! Then I ended up finishing up reading the Road by Cormac McCarthy. God, what a book! I read the whole thing in three days because it just flowed so well. McCarthy is an amazing writer and can create such vivid atmospheres and imagery without getting so descriptive that it gets in the way of what's going on (*cough* Dickens) and has incredibly fleshed-out characters that you really feel for. The ending of this book was absolutely crushing in the best possible way. I really want to read more of his stuff now but I already have another order of like 6 books getting here tomorrow haha. Oops.

    Today...

    its been about a day and I can't stop thinking about this. I'm so anxious about what this means. My two best friends are bisexual women that have been sexually assaulted, one of whom is Latina from a mostly undocumented family, and they are both terrified for their well-being after this and shattered that instead of finally seeing the highest glass ceiling broken they're forced to see that no matter how qualified a woman may be she can be overrun by an incompetent, inexperienced misogynistic man. Seeing that as a man you can be accused of sexual assault by 12 (!!!!!!!!) women in a country where most women are so afraid to come out against their aggressors that rape and sexual assault is barely ever reported (and is not misreported any more frequently than any other violent crime) in addition to standing trial for obvious fraud and possible paedophilia and be congratulated for it and still become the most powerful person in the world. it's just [bleep]ing disgusting. His election enables all kinds of misogyny and racism to be thrown much more into the open than was every previously socially acceptable (a campus landmark at my school had the words "kill 'em all" spray painted on it the night trump won the election as an example off the top of my head) and has people legitimately fearful for their well-being. I can't empathize with anybody who would knowingly thrust this upon somebody else or who gives few enough shits about other people and their agency to recognize this and support him anyways. And as if that isn't enough, we just elected a man who already has a plan to shut down the EPA , deregulate pipeline construction, fracking, and the coal industry and withdraw from the paris climate agreement at a time when we need to be putting dramatic effort into slowing climate change rather than enabling it. and this isn't even getting into how disastorous his tax plans and insurance policy will be for lower/middle class Americans and how he'll have the republican congress and supreme court to actually accomplish it and plenty of more issues that would be the worst . I know people cry wolf at every election, and there are always people who think their political opponents will end the world where not that much changes. But I just feel like this is something so ridiculously different. The last time republicans controlled all three branches of government was from 2001-2007, where their rampant industry deregulation ended with the great recession. It would be another thing if Democrats controlled at least one body of government as a check for this, but I just have a terrible feeling about this.

    @ Bows, YOOOO how's life dude? I've been having a completely ridiculous, awesome week. Saw Kishi Bashi and Kanye West last week (both of which were completely amazing shows), then flew back home for my school's homecoming. It was a fantastic time getting to see my old roommate from college / some college friends that are still around there, getting to go to my favorite restaurant, having some Michigan beer (nothing else I've had in this country compares to the craft beer in Michigan), and getting to see all my best friends and my parents back home. It was a completely jam-packed, incredible weekend. Then to top it off, when I got back to work on Monday I found out I got a bonus, checked out a new Thai restaurant a block away from my house that turned out to be probably the best thai food I've ever had, then capped it off by seeing Chance the Rapper which was another utterly amazing concert. That being said, it's been nice having a couple days to just chill out after all that. I've been tired as hell from all of the time zone changes / more alcohol than my body is used to haha.

    being sick is super lame. I've been out with a cold and haven't really left my apartment this whole weekend. I'm just hoping its almost over though because I'm going to a couple concerts this week and visiting home this weekend and I really dont want to be dealing with being sick throughout all that

    He (she?)'s adorable! What kind of snake is that? Lately I've started really wanting to get one of my own, but I want to wait until I'm more comfortable financially stable and am in a living situation where I can legally have one.

    WHOA it's been a while since you've popped in here, how's life man? This has been a pretty good weekend so far. Yesterday I ended up going bowling with some coworkers and met up with some college friends after. I got to play Pokken for the first time there and it was really fun even if I had no clue what I'm doing. It's a shame the wii u was such a shitty console because some of the games seem really fun if I had the disposable income for them. Also just got back from buying a new sound system. Everything sounded incredible in the shop and I'm super ready to not have to deal with terrible laptop speakers anymore haha. Now I just have to finish shopping for a new laptop. ;_;
