  1. Vaguley experimental poem: A Picture of Words It is so easy to be melodramatic, to pour dark Lines of text, as though they were your Life blood. To look at them and dwell down there, amongst Those somber letters, sitting in your own, Self enforced, cage. It is much harder to sing in such a way, as to Make your pleasure, that flicker smile, Really known Yet what ever I type on my mental ticker-tape And stream past my searching eyes Is nothing at all How can I describe it, and know you have felt it Like I have, to give you a sense of something You can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t touch. With your hand Like a diamond So I stare at a blank page for eternity And never express a single part of reality (The title is a reference to the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, and to Wittgenstien's theory of language in general) (touch/ with your hand/ like a diamond - a reference to Death of a Salesman)
  2. I think the skill with the lowest xp in the number one rank is construction - only 21m xp being the top. You may think this is hardley surprising considering the vast amount of money required to train it to even 99 (estimated at around 147m for that 13m xp), yet it IS one of the fastest skills to train in the game, and I AM surprised a rich staker or merchant hasn't just decided that the number one place is worth a couple of phats to him.
  3. The sony center in Potsdamer Platz, Berlin, Is pretty awesome: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/50/SonyCenterAtNight.jpg The roof is not actualy conical but shaped along the contours of Mount Fuji (Or so I was told by a German girl I was with there...seemed slightly unlikley at the time, but I could see that teh top of the cone looked slightly "off-set".) It was pretty awesome, and I remeber watching "Thank you for smoking" in the cinestar and then going to the awesome seesaws that were about 20 ft long (no joke)...I can't find any pictures of them but there were about 5 sideby side. A nice building in an awesome position with some of the best public transport in the world to get you there. There is also a large tower in the centre of Berlin, the Fernsehturm: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... Cden_2.jpg It is the third tallest building in the world, built on the isntructions of Walter Ulbricht, and called either Ulbricht's last erection or Rache des Papstes, the pope's revenge, because of the way the light forms a cross when it hits this old piece of communist architecture.
  4. I liked it when the Tip.It God wars were called off over christmas...Shame the amnesty of belief seems to have ended.
  5. Agreed :wall: This guide is the FASTEST thieving exp from lvl 65-81 Not sure about the others, but summer area is better experience than pyramid plunder. 1 summer juice is 3k exp 2 fruits for 1 glass It takes me 57 seconds (1 min rounded) for each fruit (timed) So thats 1.5k exp in 1 min I can get 5-7k exp per 5 mins at pyramid plunder at lvl 70 thieving I can get 7.5k exp per 5 mins at the new minigame The new minigame is faster exp at lvl 70, but at higher lvls (81+) i know exp would be faster at pp. This update is GREAT for thieves No...I'm 72 thief and I get about 10k xp every run through pyramid + I don't have to stay watchful or worry about getting caught to much.

it was awesome. I personaly would have painted "Jesus was homosexual" on the side of James May's cadillac
  7. Ironicaly if it was accepted by a religious person it would instantly lay waste thier thier belief in "ultimate truth" - seeing as thier "ultimate truth" would in fact be purley subjective according to the values they had just ascribed to.

yes indeed, a good point which I had considered in relation to peadophillia. If we can hold, as many do now, that people are naturaly homosexual, then can we hold that people are naturaly attracted to underage children, or to thier own mothers (in fact freud's Oedipus complex enforces this idea)? Of course it seems logical that we can. But we cannot accept peadophilia as it consitutes sexual assault - a child simply cannot give conscent, as he or she is too young to do so. So we cannot have peadophiles in society, but can we accept that they have a simple mental disease over which they have little control? There seems to me no argument against incest so long as it produces no offspring - if we are to accept homosexuality, how can we produce a cohegent moral argument against incest?
  9. William James, arguably. Scince truth is relative (according to James), and so long as an idea functions usefuly for someone it may be held to be "true", even if it conflicts with the "truth" of another, then seeing as for these "select few" the idea functions usefuly for them, it may be held to be true. But of course, seeing as it does not function usefuly for you, it may be held to be "untrue", whilst still being "true" for those others. Thus this concept suggests that it is both true and untrue at the same time. A good example is that of the "flat earth". When it was believed that the earth was flat, and that this was a useful concept, then it was indeed true that the earth was flat. Now it is not a usefuly functioning conceptual object to most people, thus it is now untrue.
  10. Antiskillers unite!!!!! why whats your agility his is 55. just click his name under his avatar for a stat check
  11. yes...I thought it was a rather obvious joke tbh. "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day" is one of the best known lines of love poetry. Not quite sure there is much room for comment really.
  12. And I will shew wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath; Blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: Now try Psalm 137:9
  13. I would legalise all drugs, and certainly marjuiana. There are many reasons for this. For me the most important reason is that we are members (most of us) of liberal democracies and should have the right, as much as possible, to live the way we want to live, so long as it does not impinge on others. If we look at the precedent set by alcohol which can be said to have some effects that may impinge on others, such as loutish behaviour etc, we can limit these by applying laws to the consequence not the act. Thus allowing us to live and let live.
  14. Standing in the way of control by The Gossip...an absolutley awesome song.
  15. Take out the packet, the happines in twisted plastic Credit card forward, do the cutting, I'm spastic Desparate escape, that hyper manic state Tube up the note, and take the bait Why bother with the long wait? You'll never feel alone again mate.
  16. How do I prove it ..... My main question is :-- "Explain the use of "...." in the Paragraph....' ok...the quotation marks are because, and I know this is hard, but because it's a q u o t e. The use of the little dots, or full stops, is to show where the quoter chopped out bits of his words that were irrelevant. It gives the reader an idea of what he means, whilst removing unesecary text.
  17. if you read the article it's because Rav Bains said it. check the para above more carefuly
  18. There is one benefit of smoking - it relaxes you The other benefit that may be addended here is that it may cement links with your circle of friends. there are many negatives, but on refusing to smoke with them, you are highley unlikley to be rejected by them. When I was young my friends smoked, and I always refused to do so, and this did not affect anything much. 2 months ago I started smoking, when most of my friends had stopped completely, and again, there is no effect the other way.
  19. an awesome song Placebo - Bitter end

Man of God They once said, in empty halls, On cold stone flags, as the incense swung, And bare feet beat the dirt-silk road, To avarice and dreams beyond, That here, in this dead house, we meet Beneath the bishop̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s dirty feet, And buy our meaning by golden sweat. Once we stood beneath the altar, As Issac̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s blood poured through the grooves, And stared up at the flaming hooves, His breathy words in frozen air, To tell us of our reasons there. And the silver plate went round the room Every man to give his due For the righteous counsel of His High Priest Their eternity worth the least Beneath that man̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s un-sandaled soles The plate was passed, the pile grows. Still I see them, those who seek That solace of their priest̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s bare feet, That pound the muddy silk in tow To see the flames lick from below And buy their passage with golden tread The man of God̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s most savored thread. I had thought I would never post another poem on here again. But I will experiment with this one, as I know the topic is contraversial.
  21. There was a perfume advert with either "map of the problematique" or "hysteria" on it (i can't remeber which)
  22. Yes, all very well and good, if you want gimmicky spells that are massivley expensive to cast. Meleer- no cost per attack (maybe pots), ranger - 300 gp per attack + pots, Mage - 2.1k per attack + pots. To be honest, no one pks with just mage, they always bring range or melee with them. Mage is not a combat skill in its own right, it is just an add on to keep people still whilst you hit them with range or melee. The max damage you can do is 30...you can eat over two sharks between barrages, so the only way to get a quick KO is for them to lag. Range max hit - 44, melee max hit - 70+ I think it is now. Mage armor gives virtualy no protection against melee or range, and yet costs the same as melee armor. The proof that mage is underpowered is that no one but pures use it as a pking skill in its own right. You see plenty or "just meleers", plenty of "just rangers", but when was the last time you saw a mage without range or melee on them get a kill against another serious pker?
