What movie(s) did you last see?
My mistake, thought streetcar was 53' and the wild one was 51'. He has so much more screen presence than anyone else i mean, it's just crazy.

Steve Fossett Goes missing
I think its crazy that planes can fall out of the sky with no one knowing where they are. Hope he turns up safe after a few nights in the wilderness.

Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti dies
Aw, well i he can be pleased about what he has done for opera and for the life he has led.

My issues with Athiests.
I suspect there are, but for the benefit of the scientific method we can never know they are absolute.

What movie(s) did you last see?
The Wild One - It was an alright film, easy to understand why it became a cult hit really. I enjoyed Brando as usual although his acting didn't quite reach the par he set in Streetcar later on in his career. Lee MArvin was quite funny and Mary Murphy had a well rounded performance. Entertaining and quite fun.

My issues with Athiests.
Because science is objective Korskin, religion is not. 99% of scientists saying they support the theory of evolution is a lot different than 99% christians having "faith" that it is wrong.

What movie(s) did you last see?
The Dreamers - Was on at like, 3AM last night and I decide to watch it instead of sleep. It was interesting.

My issues with Athiests.
Theists are usually those who believe in a God, but are not sure of which God or do not think we can know what God exists.

Injustice in Jena / Jena 6 / Blatant Racism! (long read)
Ignorance the the law is no excuse, i mean here they're not stupid. You can't press chanrges for play fighting in school and things like that. The legal age a person becomes prosecutable is 9 in England i think, you're supposed to know right from wrong. You were ignorant to the law, just like all those buisness men who constantly go to jail for tax evasion when they think they can pay their way out.

Injustice in Jena / Jena 6 / Blatant Racism! (long read)
He should have killed him, then he would have been able to plead provocation and diminished responsibility. At least in English law that would have been better if he did not want to go to jail.

My issues with Athiests.
No one is saying we shouldn't teach creationism. People are saying it should not be taught in science because it isn't science. They have a different belief system to you, where they can not simply go to a private area and put their hands together. What would you do if the teacher told you to say an islamic prayer in class? You wouldn't, so how do you think people who are not religious feel when they are asked to pray? How lovley. Too many liberties? Like the right to not be forced to pray, like the right to go out of the room to pray, like the right to teach actual science in science classes? Thanks for summing up who you are with that post, ignorance isn't a virtue. By the way your signature is slightly offensive.

Give vidi another kicking for old times sake. Edit: Rba is lame.

Yippee Ki Yay, Motherpffft
The first die hard was slightly unrealistic, yeah but it was believable on the film screen. This movie was just ugh. He took down a military plane with a truck. I think in this die hard he went from 'Man forced to save people' to 'Superman forced to save the USA'.

Where do you want to go?
Egypt, i have not seen the pyramids yet. Venice, because i love it there. Paris, because it's almost like a second home to me. Theres to many places to see in one existance :( My grandparents have been literally everywhere though, 80+ now and still traveling to the deepest corners of the earth. Hope i will be able to do that someday, and still at their age.

While We're On Religious Topics...
Of course people may not change their mind, as in be conveted to a religion on one of these threads, or deconverted. It isn't even about that it is about understanding everyones opinions and then making an informed judgement. What you're saying is we all should stick our heads in the sand and let our brains devolve. People do learn things through these threads, and if thats at the expense of some people therefore hating others thats their problem not mine, or anyone elses.

Evolution in public schools
Yes because teaching creation stories in science class is misleading to the student in thinking that it is scientific or at least has some scientific weight. Which considering they are stories, it does not. Creationism isn't science and it will never be. I personally think science class should teach more about what science is, as it seems very few people actually understand that.

Seasick Steve
I saw him play this summer down south at the beach sessions. It was literally the best venue ever. A smallish marquee where the artists played then a large balconey to the side where you could sit and enjoy the beach and sunset. I was sitting down with some friends before it started and he walked past and went and sat on the beach down below to drink wine. Then when we went into the marquee to watch him he came straight through the audience and we got to pat him on the back and stuff haha. He played for a long time, it was a real bluesy type of gig i must say.

Am I crazy?
No, i never realized how petty some parents were.

My issues with Christianity.
Unless we have a debating subforum with proper rules laid out - and locking threads that dont meet the proper criteria because of those rules things like this will always happen. I do not think it is any reason to ban anything though. I agree with Strowez, most of the flaming is coming from people flaming about topics rather than this specific thread. Like they are automatically made to read whats said in here. You can not get to this thread by ommission.

My issues with Christianity.
Then ignore them.

Evolution in public schools
All science is theory. Teach both, in different classes.
