The paragraphs under the figure in the link i provided show you how they do it. They don't claim to be completley accurate but just to show us where different groups stand in population.
  4. Our isn't much better under close examaination but yours is getting ridiculous. Thats what happens when a legal system has to cover 300 million people.

Pretty much the opposite of Atheism - they believe there is a God but are not sure what or which it is.
  6. Satenza replied to Notorious_Ice's topic in Off-Topic
I agree, which is why I have said on numerous occassions atheism is just as illogical as deism and I am agnostic. Oh and the [bleep] was because pretty much every time somone posts to something warri0r says i always see "Well not ALL christians are close minded" and it's getting incredibly annoying that people can't read previous posts.
  7. Satenza replied to RayOxide's topic in Off-Topic
Well here is another source that shows the amount of people from each religion. http://www.adherents.com/Religions_By_Adherents.html Edit: Oh and the "gap" is because i mentioned more than one country, ie France having like 60% atheist to Britain having around 40% or something.
  8. Satenza replied to RayOxide's topic in Off-Topic
Well, certainly in Europe religion is depleating. In total around 35-40% of Europe do not believe in God, then obviously more agnostic and deist people on top of that. In countrys like Britain, France, Sweeden, Denmark, Holland and so on have 40-70% of their population as atheists. And a report shows that between 500 million and 750 million of the worlds population is athesit.

He has already aid about 15 [bleep]ing times that he doesn't think ALL christians are close minded.

The Bible is pretty much just there to tell us to do good deeds, such as be a good neighbor, love your enemy, etc. Are those crazy? It's not like the Bible is a science or history book. LIke the person above said, it's a book of morals telling us how we should act. Most of it was written over 2000 years ago, so you cna't expect it to get all of the scientific facts right. Well since you're liberal christians (well Jesse is i think) I am pretty sure every thing you beleive from the Bible is common sense that existed before the Bible was even written. Which leaves us the things you don't follow (the crazy stuff). This is my problem with liberal christians i don't understand why you need to follow or label yourself as christians for pretty much acting as you would anyways - following common sense. Like agnostic people, deists or atheists. I don't really know why you need stories to teach you these, but these things are not crazy. Now you probably do hold beliefs that go beyond logic and rationality such as Jesus being the son of God and rising into heaven to release you of all sins and all that jazz. That part of your faith is slightly crazy, just as you would call me crazy if believed a vampire lives in my neighborhood. The Bible is just a peice of romanticism that teaches a few good things that we would have known already through common sense.

Saying you believe your Government is corrupt from watching a film is suicide around here, apparenly we must believe our government who want 30% or more of our wages each year more than a film maker who wants $5 and is using the best way to get what he believes across while still being able to live. His only mistake is that film is called "media" and "media" apparently tells us lies about our Governments at every possible occassion. I havn't seen this film yet, but i saw his other one which seemed to support most of what he said with records and other evidence (at least about Bush's ties with certain people).

No, no it's not. After you die you become part of the earth. You become part of a tree. and with that tree you'll be turned into paper! With that paper we'll use to make The Bible. - Dane Cook I'm Christian by the way. Thank you, you just made me slightly sick.
  17. Satenza replied to Notorious_Ice's topic in Off-Topic
No, I am an agnostic for the sole purpose of being open-minded. I believe it is possible that there is a god of some kind (or multiple), but I'm not so close-minded that I actually think I know the Truth. Most atheists admit to at least partially allowing that there could be an existence of some form of god as well, for none of us (NONE OF US, neither you nor I) know anything at all about the supernatural. You are right in saying that it is close-minded to believe with all your heart that there can't be a god (though man-made gods can be logically disproved), but that's being just as close-minded as assuming that there has to be a god. Look at yourself before you start pointing fingers at others, m'kay? Last I recall, its always the athiests pointing fingers calling Christians illogical, retarted, close minded feeble people just for believing in something they do not. Well, most religious people hold illogical beliefs ie. Christians who rely on the Bible as proof of their specific God, and some are "close minded" because they choose to accept a non-empirical way of gaining truth in favour of things like the Bible, moslty for illogical reasons. And choosing the Bible as infalliable truth over empiricism is slightly crazy.

Christianity wasnt the first religion so if you think that saying "and 50+ other religions agree with the christian story!" then you can think again, since it's more likley Christianity is the one agreeing with a religion that existed prior to it.

Immortal Technique isn't mainstream, i like him but his songs are VERY strong and sometimes disgusting like 'Dance With The Devil'. He is very extreme though, so watch out haha.
  20. I don't know why everyone is saying "marxism is good in theory" when it's probably the worst theoretic system i have ever read in terms of complete errors, assumptions, logical contradiction ect on Marx and Engles behalf. Infact, the main problem Marx had was making it so communism is not even a theory. Theories are tested hypothesis', Marxism cannot be tested due to his dialectic and hypothesis can;t be changed therefore it's accepted as an infalliable system, because if a communist revolution happens and then fails (Russia, China) that isn't accountable on Communism but the social and economic situation before and during the revolution.
  21. Wait, try to layer something under the tyre thats off the ground, then then get your people to weigh down the back of the car, and hopefully it will get the contact right.
  22. It's outdated where i live (England) as we now have something called "Global Capitalism" so we don't really have a proletatiat in the same sense (at least not one that has "nothing to lose"). Since the new proletariat are from countrys like China, who are ironically apparently communist. Yet are now part of the global proletariat. Edit: In response to your last paragraph. I do agree communism can work and is one of the only ways in which 3rd world countrys can resolve their matters. Enstating communist principles on small african villages or towns may be a good way in which to build the country up (although nothing like a communist country as such, just divided in areas). However the Western world (most predominatley America) are still under the threat of the spread of communism and would NEVER do anything to encourage any sort of growth in it. I think the only way for poverty stricken countries like Africa is through communism, but i doubt that would ever happen because of western counties fear of it, despite how many lives it may save. I mean communism has a debt of 100 Million lives from last century, it will be interesting if it can reclaim what it took away this century.

I agree, i too am agnostic and have had 12 years of Christian education and upbringing, then college the last two years was at another Christian college (although the closest i got to learning Christianity there was during Philosophy lessons which took an objective stance obviously). So i understand what Reb says, even when i was around 12 the Bible to me became full of absurdities and ambiguities which i didn't understand why people were accepting to live their life around them. I mean we were learning evolution one lesson and the creation story the next, and only one of them sounded plausable
