    No it wasn't.
  3. He has said over and over again that he would prefer a dictatorship because of it's simplicity. Funny as it's exactly what Hitler did.

Faith is a stupid word which really means "ignore everthing about life and the world and believe this". I have faith that a billion dollars will fall into my hands sometime, yeah thats right. Faith is nothing.

If you knew anyhing about evolution then you would have known the answer, even the slightest shallow understanding of it. So before you go all catcher in the rye and start crying about being insulted go do a little research and your 'proof to disprove evolution' will fail before your eyes.

Wait a minute, the Bible says treat others as you would like to be treated!?!?! Man, i never would have thought of the common sense behind that one!
  10. It relieves stress for people. At the same time it causes stress - buying cigarettes, the need for them. :wall: It only relieves stress because the addiction causes the stress that smoking relieves. Well, not true. I don't smoke and therefore have never been addicted however when i have smoked one of two in the past it does relieve stress, which is obviously not caused by addiction. Later on people who smoke no longer are affected by the nicotine in that way and it just stops the cravings they feel so thats only true for addcited people. Anyway it's a stupid ban too much government intervention for my liking. It's a pity all the "liberal" or so they claim to be partys jumping all over this in support. Learn the term liberal you bandwagon fools!

I'd like to see where i flamed anyone for their religious beliefs defender. If you think calling something illogical is a flame then no wonder. Your belief is illogical, there is no escaping that - it's not illogical cause i say so it's illogical by the laws of logic. For example Christianity. 1. Because the Christian God exists the Bible is true. 2. Because the Bible is true the Christian God exists. It's called a cartesian circle and it's illogical because the premise relies on the conclusion and vice versa. Your belief in the Christian God is illogical and therefore isn't just a flame. Debates of this nature are heated, and if you can't take the heat yes you should get out.

Change your mind all you like, but keep your predictions to yourself. We all know how they can turn out that doesn't mean you have to tell us about it by calling people names before anything like that even happens. Then stating opinions and retracting from futher discussion. If you want to "get out of here before they come" then do so without doing the above things.

Would you shut the hell up with posting this crap about people being arrogant and narrow minded. Barley anyone hasbeen any of those, if you can't take the nature of this type of debate don't enter it. Posting views and saying "This is my last post" is ridiculous, either discuss or don't, and if you don't you have no basis to call anyone arrogant, narrow-minded or stubborn. It just seems like your throwing insults at people for disagreing with each other, so stop it. It's getting annoying.

The things you bolded are completley true (except the "trash" went a little far). It does promote sadistic beliefs when followed literally. Also, i'd look up the term "discrimination" before filing that report.

The Bible (well the New Testament) is just an early peice of romanticism, and should only be treated as such. Moderate liberal christians at least understand that a little better, but I agree with you that if you believe in a religion it makes more sense to go all the way with it. Picking and choosing shows you that there is little point to having that religion in the first place. Unfortunatley it's not that big of a jump for Westboro to assume that God does infact hate and want gay people to burn in hell, case and point his destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. If you go the full way it's actually hard to not want to condemn people to burn in hell, afterall thats what the supreme perfect God did.

Actually from what I read it sounded like he was saying love is a choice for everyone and that many people get love and lust confused. How is that insulting? He was applying it to everyone. That is why he made the comment about how many people you hear say "we fell out of love." I'm pretty sure he said something along the lines of "gay people can't love each other, thats just lust" which is insulting. Firstly because it's not true, and secondly it's a pathetic assumption to again attempt to deny them their lifestyle. When he said how many people do you hear say "we fell out of love" he was again just refering to gay people mistaking lust with love. To bad he didn't account for the 50% statistic of straight people getting divorced. The bottom line is that his assumptions have been disproven and it's just fallen into complete ignorance on his behalf.

I find it interesting that Defender is searching for truth in the worst possible way. Your just reading a book instead and throwing away empiricism which is the best possible way to find truth. You're doing that because you know that empiricism won't find you the truth you desire. I'd also like to ask Defender whether he could turn gay now, it's a ridiculous assumption which again shows you that you're not actually looking for truth, but just ways which you can twist (and mildly insult people by saying they are incapable of loving) situations to fit in with the Bible when it's clear it is wrong. One wrong assumption in it leads to the credibility of the Bible being diminshed for you, and if it's wrong then it means it's not Gods word. All i can say to you is good luck trying to twist everything to fit in with it, maybe you will one day join the rest of humanity and move from blind faith in ancient writing to what really matters now.

Aren't Mods supposed to be an example for everyone else to follow and not let their arguments deteriorate into personal attacks when they merely have a philosophical disagreement with a person? Assassin said that not me, and he's the mod. He wasn't refering to all christians but he was refering to those who gamble to believe in God because there is no harm in it and it could reward them with heaven. You'd know that if you researched a little bit about Pascals Wager which he also mentioned.

Once again, I'm not atheist. However yes that is the case, but "what does it matter what happens before the result" seems to convey to me that if you thought there were no God then there wouldn't be a point in living. Well, our point of living is to make the world a better place for everybody, and the futher we improve as a race the futher this happens.

I never said Atheism is a religion. Choosing a religion because your scared of the afterlife is pathetic in my opnion. Im also agnostic, not atheist.
