What Does Time Look Like?
I think time is built into the fabric of the universe. So yeah, if we went a billion light years away we'd age just as fast.
-
What Does Time Look Like?
Cause we are so many light years away from them. It has more to do with light rather than time. It was just interesting to me :)

Media = biased
Of course it is, I don't even think it's possible for the media not to be biased. You are all talking like they make up stories and put them in there and then go burn little people. Can anyone even name a specific instance where one media corporation told lies for a specific political party?

So...I had this idea...
What happens when all the little alien men start demanding money to get themselves out of poverty. Then you are screwed.

Day 7: About Love
Hmm, I'd agree with you. But then we wouldn't have an idea what good and evil is. And apparently we do. Murder is evil. [assault] is evil. Theft is evil. So, obviously, there is something univeral about this love thing as well. No? I'd argue good and bad are subjective as well. If we take your theft example for instance i could ask the question "Is it right for someone to steal a peice of bread to feed his starving family". If we all had some innate absolute idea of good and bad we would all either condemn that action as bad or good. However that question has been debated over for centuries. So it's obvious we don't have an absolute stance on it.

Day 7: About Love
That does not matter, we already established love was subjective. Whatever is being "shoved down your throat" is subjective to the person shoving it down your throat. It exists, just like my idea of love exists and like your idea of love will exist.
-
Day 7: About Love
Perhaps. Like I said, to me, 'love' seems like a tool that is used by people to get what they want. Use by companies to make money. Used by religion to keep society stuck in monogamy. (Which isn't that bad of a thing now that we have such an STD epidemic) If you doubt my own subjective love exists then your doubting attraction, happiness ect exists. Since you already told me you don't doubt they exist it's logical to assume that you don't doubt my idea of love exists. Therefore, my idea of love does exist and since love is subjective thats the best we can hope for.
-
Day 7: About Love
So if i said i thought love to me was attraction, acceptance and happiness you would say that love does not exist?
-
Day 7: About Love
Then you may aswell not believe that anger, doubt or any other emotion exist. Love is just a label given to a feeling or group of feelings by yourself. Doubting love doesn't make sense, it's just a label. Like if i were to say "I am mad" it could possibly sum up a few emotions like anger, hatred, disgust ect. Do you doubt madness exists?
-
Day 7: About Love
So science is subjective? But love is subjective not objective, so those feelings do exist it's just you don't want to label them as love. So take another feeling you have towards your girlfriend and describe that as love. Maybe it's a collection of feelings, i don't know since it's up to you. How do you know? And why does that matter, we can still feel whether we label those feelings as love or not. Does everyone cheat? Yes, because whatever we call love it is worth it and better to have it than not have it. And we always strive for what satisfies us.

Day 7: About Love
Every god damn thing is subject. But love is something to do with happiness. You know.. doing whatever it takes to make said person happy? Not everything is subjective... That maybe your idea of love "doing whatever to make said person happy". So why do you doubt that it is not love? Or doubt that your conclusion is correct for you? If you do doubt that your conclusion is not love then you would not have called it love. So obviously love exists for you.

Day 7: About Love
No it's not. Love may be different for everyone, it's subjective. What you consider love i may not consider to be love and vice versa.

the "DID you know?".....post
Communism is purley just a method of return to the state of nature. It's reliance on innate natural rights is an excuse for the law to no longer be needed as Marx saw the law as an uneccessary evil.
-
the "DID you know?".....post
It still wouldn't work because of the value that is placed on natural rights. After the supposed abolition of the law and the inevitable failure of the economy how do these natural rights become protected? If natural rights are not protected they are useless. Not to mention the fact natural rights are not innate, not agreed upon and not followed willingly by everyone. After that comes starvation, poverty, rioting, bloodshed, violence and the collapse of the state. The only possible way communism can work in a true form is in small sectors of land. Like african villages who have a shared goal and incentive to work to sustain their lives. Regionally, nationally or globally controlled communism will never work in this day and age. We'd first have to return to a state of nature and start the whole of civilization again. Communism is a pre-capitalist era of rule, unlike what Marx suggested it was (an anti-thesis to Capitalism). Marx was aiming for utopia and thats where his whole idea and logic unravels so easily.
-
the "DID you know?".....post
Er, Communism is "each according to his need" so your Grandma ideally would get the 3 meals a day she needs. So thats not why it fails, and i don't see how that can also be attributed to capitalisms failure either, as capitalism never preaches equality in goods, only equality in oppurtunity.

the "DID you know?".....post
OKIE thats good if its not Cuz i love my motherland....(cant offend 1.3 billion people) If the 1.3 Billion people of China still think Mao is an inspirational God like figure, then i doubt they know what the word offend means.

the "DID you know?".....post
China is still a dictatorship. The only way it is communist is that all the citizens of China are getting a communal screwing over.
