: I use a black outline on everything I do.. Just something I like to use... idk ;) and ya.. on the background.. I always do well on the main part of the pixel.. and when I finish that.. I don't feel like working on it anymore.. so I tend to slap on a very easy background.. -.-

Ha... I just take about 4-5 colors, fill it in with a color and take the other ones and just make alot of strokes in the same direction.. looks nice also. :)

You can achieve that look easily by getting 3-5 colors and scribbling. :
