Right? Life is much better without a poisonous millstone around your neck. If only dating as an adult wasn't so damn ridiculous. <_< Great, now I need a drink. Yup - my grades have improved dramatically too... Well, slowly. I entered university with a 90 percent average. Not trying to place blame entirely on her, but toxic relationships can seriously damage you - shown by my extreme drop to near failing. This year, I finished with my lowest mark being 74 and my highest being 86. Not bad, but I definitely want to aim for all 80s next year. My major average will probably sit around 70 (hopefully) once all my marks come in. I don't need a lot for my plan B option (compressed Nursing program). The university that's closer to where I live has less average requirements ("B-" minimum), but requires Biochemistry and Psychology courses. However, University of Toronto requires a B+ average in the last two years of my program, without those requirements. Other universities require a B average. So, all in all I should graduate first with a Bachelor of Public Health, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and eventually a Masters of Nursing. Thus, allowing me to write my Nurse Practitioner exam eventually. That's definitely a change from my Plan A option which was (always) medical school. But, you can't get into med school with a B average, considering they take into account all four years of your undergrad.

- "I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Like what others said, this requires a serious discussion. You don't want to get yourself in shitty commitments (leases, etc) if the worst happens. I lived with my ex girlfriend for a little over a year and yeah, it was way different. For example: when you fight, you can't just [bleep] off somewhere and then schedule a date to meet up and discuss what happened. You have to have the responsibility to deal with problems then and there because chances are you'll be sleeping next to her that night. And yes, you will fight. There is no getting away from that. You've also got to understand that people have certain quirks about where they live. Sometimes they prefer things arranged in a certain way or they prefer buying certain things. Or, they prefer peace and quiet (just like you do). It's also frustrating because you can do everything you possibly can to be an acceptable partner to live with, but she can just go back and do the exact opposite (she is human after all). That's when you have to compromise and accept that you can't always win. Just because you do something good it doesn't mean you should be rewarded for it. Although if you're constantly getting the shit end of the stick, you should reevaluate your relationship. Most of this stuff seems pretty obvious, but when you're in the heat of the moment where emotions are strong, you tend to forget what to do and you end up doing stupid shit.- Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
Honestly I wish I spent more time concentrating on school earlier on. Now I'm in third year I'm stuck playing catch up attempting to raise my GPA.- What are you listening to right now!?

I've got to say, I was a bit curious about that. I mean, I've never really understood what it's really like and for me who is someone going into the medical field it's something I've needed to see. Personally I was diagnosed ~2 years ago with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I have anxiety/panic attacks from time to time (they're definitely different, I know... trust me) and those definitely suck. I'm not trying to detract from your experiences in anyway, but I just felt that since you came out with something so personal, I'd might as well too and it might make you feel more comfortable about it.- Today...

I don't know about you guys, but I'm starting to get sick of hookups. Call it what you like, but I miss that emotional connection I've held in my previous relationships.- Today...
NP's are fantastic. My local GI department uses a bunch of them. They have I think 3 GI doctors, and each of them has 2 NP's. When you have an appointment, or an issue, you deal with your NP instead of the doctor, and then the NP consults with the doctor (and the Doctor will see you in person as needed). It allows the hospital to do way more with fewer doctors, because the NP's can deal with most issues themselves (prescriptions, and some of the treatment options, ordering tests, all that good stuff). The only problem is that Nurse Practitioners are super rare here. We have way more doctors than NP's, so there aren't close to enough of them for all departments to do this. One thing we did cotton onto at least as far as the ER goes is staffing the triage department with Paramedics instead of Nurses. They're better at assessing people with unknown issues. I'm thinking of becoming a Nurse Practitioner myself even though I'm technically in Pre-Med. So it'll be a strange transition for me.- Today...

Yeah, not having a vehicle in some areas can be quite debilitating. I know in my area, the bus service is regular, but for places I need to go for internships/co-ops in the future, I can't really get there. For example: my region has hospitals in various areas (at least before they start shutting them down). If, let's say, I'm doing a co-op at one hospital that's out of town, it's completely inaccessible to public transit before 9AM, which they expect me to be there for 7AM. Not to mention groceries, being forced to ask other people for rides everywhere (since I'm an independent person, it's my biggest pet peeve; asking other people for help), etc. So I can understand that pain fully. However, the alternative is how expensive insurance is and gas, etc. So it's no win really. - "I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
