I'd argue that as long as you remain fit and athletic (somewhat active) you don't really need to worry about your BMI - I can understand your concern (I have a BMI of 18.5) You just finished your finals so that's probably the reason why you lost 7lbs anyway. Darn stressors increasing that metabolism.

Do you really want those 7lbs back?

Well a word for word translation would be: [high/drugged up/e.t.c] as [bleep], guys.
  8. You went through and necro-posted 10 year old threads which no one actually gave a damned rats-ass about. Then attempted to console yourself, publicly, as some form of pitiable, self-inflicted, narcissism equivalent to constructing a large neon sign pointing to said thread saying 'Hey guys, look how [bleep]ing dumb I was 10 years ago, "[bleep] me, right?" '. You then go and ask users on the very same forum - for advice on how to post constructive, critical and poignant content so that you, as a whole, would get more gratification from any half-assed ideas you may come up with in the future. Very reasonable advice was given, only you go onto say "Well clearly, making the effort to make good content is beyond me - so why should I bother". If you want to go on your way and pretend you have been forbidden by some magic fairy that says "Thou shalt ne'er post hastily drawn conclusions bereft of thought and consideration", then please do so. I have little concern for how you like to occupy your time in RS with fun, you are free to use your time as you please even if it includes publicly slapping yourself on the wrist. You had asked for (genuine) advice - and that advice was given. You have seemed to have made your bed - and I shall leave you to loudly snore.

Essentially we were given a list of 24 or so "Learning Objectives" which are written as essay questions - and for the past 2 years of exams all essay questions have been these learning objectives - so we know what the questions are, just not which ones will be asked.

Hmm as far as I am aware we are expected to write 2 essays and 1 Data Analysis questions within the 3 hour period - so there is always something to do. I just have to make sure I am prepared for the essays (Have to pick 2 out of a choice of 4 questions). I will be very shocked to see if any of my peers leave after 1 hour like they did last year (In a 2hr exam with a similar structure (only 1 essay Q though))

While we are all comparing our finals - I have my first final on the 22nd, then one on the 27th and then the 30th. All 3hr long and I only need 40% (in each) to graduate with a 2:1 woo-hoo. (Aiming for the first ofc)

Tbh microscopy is a tough nut to understand. Essentially when you get down to the nitty-gritty of electron microscopy just remember that it is essentially constructing a contour map of the surface you are scanning and the proximity the surface is to the needle is picked up by the concentration of negative charge (electron density) at the tip of the needle. I recommend you spend some time on the subsequent wikipedia pages (because they contain quite good descriptions) for those terms to determine the differences - although I am knowledgeable about types of microscopy - I haven't touched a microscope in a very long time since I am a geneticist xD I only know how STM and E/SEM function (and that is only just). As far as other more conventional microscopies are concerned, Brightfield and Phase-contrasts were the ones that I actually had to know for cell biology.
  17. Getting the quest-cape too quickly is never a problem imho - if you find yourself otherwise bored of the game (from the grind - and subsequently do not have a quest to do) there are many d&ds, tasks and completionist requirements you can work on instead of skilling Alternatively, you can make a new (ironman) account and do the whole process again :)

So i had that phd interview - which I didn't impress, which is unfortunate. And then I had to do a presentation about some random code I wrote which went very well.
  19. Considering it was a buzzfeed video and thus aimed at young impressionable women. I think he was telling us to dress like mr Indian and get game. - But not seriously watch the video. It made me feel ugly due to the lack of Brains Cosplayers. But say if 500 women in muggis area had watched that god awful video, then dressing like one would improve his chances.
  20. Sherlock Holmes would have been a very different character if he was based on you.
  21. Perhaps you should follow your own fathers advice then.
  22. Thank you! Welcome to the forums, it's a great community, you'll love it! Mr Dr. Paul Leet. OMG! He doesn't still play does he?? Nah he stopped a couple of years ago - he comes back like for a month every year when he should be doing other things though.
