You just showed "3*.333...=1" not ".999...=1". Connect the two or use tryto's first proof.

Because they spend their money differently than you do?

You might be able to convince them. Especially with an argument focused around taste and not alcohol content. Being in college, we don't always remember our "tasting" nights, but I do try to put some focus on flavor. :P A couple of places I frequent for wine and beer information: http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/ (a very large database of recipes and information) http://www.homebrewtalk.com/ (a great place to go for beer, mead and apfelwein) Good luck convincing! Edit: Noticing age, it's not too important you're only 16. I helped my dad brew beer when I was younger and I always got to taste our final product. Edit2: A thread about wine and beer making could be a very good idea. A shame so many here can't legally drink and live with their parents.

Thrift stores. WHat kind of thrift stores >.> Just talked to a girl friend (not girlfriend :o) and she offered to take me to the mall and then stated it'd get me shoes jeans and maybe two shirts. :wall: Any kind will do as long as they have clothes. You have to shop around and find something you like that fits well. Just finding something that fits well and looks good on you can be enough to be fashionable, you just have to be able to shop around. Not everyone can wear the current fashions (ie, skinny jeans), so it's more important what looks good on you not what's the hottest thing.

Tasted my berry medley wine today. Still a tad sweet with a strong black cherry and strawberry flavor. A hint of blackberry, but the raspberry and apple flavors are gone. It's also at about 16% abv with 3-5 days (maybe earlier, it depends) until I cold crash it to retain some sweetness and the sugars with the more prominent fruit flavor. This should be an excellent batch. Also going camping tomorrow, although I don't know where yet since someone else is planning the trip.

You can be fashionable for very very cheap.

There are colonies for that. Being pantsless, that is.

The first proof is terrible. I'd reword it to connect the bits about 1/9 and 1/3 because right now they're meaningless and the last statement "so 0.9999...=1" seemingly comes from nowhere. In otherwords, it isn't proven with that proof. You just proved "3*0.333....=1" and "9*0.111...=9*(1/9)=(9*1)/9" not "0.9999...=1".

Why'd your parents do that? There most have been some reasoning behind that (although, probably not good reasoning).

This thread has a really creepy title.

Triumph maintenance can eat a pretty hole into your wallet too; just to warn you. Sounds like a fun job this summer. Today I canned some strawberries so that they would keep for a week or so before I put them in the fermenter with my current wine. I think this batch is going to turn out really really well and only slightly resemble rocket fuel right out of the carboy.

For Easter, I went hiking with a large group of people to a mountaintop where we could see the entire valley and most of the city. It is a beautiful view, and would be a whole lot better without all the buildings.

Mine should be done soon. I used apples and grapes, and the result is a little like pears. It seems to be extremely alcoholic. Rocket fuel alcoholic or good alcoholic? Is lemon wine makable? That sounds delicious. I'm gonna be gone until late Sunday. See you guys around the bend, such and such. It's possible. It'd be very acidic so you'd have to add some other juice/fruit to help with that. I also think it would be best sparkling, fermented with a champagne yeast. Makes me thirsty just thinking about a nice cool glass of slightly tart sparkling lemon wine on a hot summer day. Mmmmm.
