You know what would be awesome? If I learned Italian. No, I'm not an Assassin's Creed fanboy, but I am half Italian decent and loads of Argentine customs and foods are Italian. English, Spanish, and Italian. Sounds cool eh?

Falklands Dispute
No there won't be another war. The current President is stupider than hell and all the politicians are too corrupt and have thier own affairs with each other than to conduct a war. Besides the times are different. In the 1970s-1980s Argentina was ruled by militants and needed a quick "victory" to gain support and morale. Currently there's no real point for it now. If there WAS a war, I pray to God Britian doesn't go overboard because it WILL be the government's idea and not of the people. Until Argentina can get it's act together, the Falklands shouldn't be touched.

8.8-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Chile
Apparently by some people I know, the recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chile are more evidence for Global Climate Change. <_<

You do realize that stability =/= boring? What are you doing right now? Living a civilized life with limited freedom with your parents money. Granted, you SHOULD be having some fun, but imagine with total freedom and a lot more money than now. Live the life and have some luxurious freetime. Better than cake! Not directed at anybody, I cannot stand the fact of a routine-job. Seeing my father working the night-shift every other night with only a couple of hours of free time per two days, it kills me. I don't know how he does that. Then my grandfather who made bricks all day. And my great-great-grandfather who moved crossseas with hardly any money at all. It seems like a good stable, relativity wealthy generation is long overdue. It sounds cliche but its true.

English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French are the main four languages of the Western Hemisphere. I know two of them; good enough.

Nevada has nothing dude. Other than silver and prositutes...nothing. XD I'll say Kansas. It's the cliche of the "average farmboy who becomes awesome somehow" stories. Best to get rid of it. :)

Justice System Fails
If somebody raped my sister I don't ever think he'll give enough amends for me. The crime was made against my sister, not society. The quarrel is between my sister and the son of a [bleep]; naturally, my family will follow suit as well. And that proves my point: to you, the criminal wronged society. Why should we accept him back? So everything's "OK" because you won the case and didn't have to set fire to the house? Honestly, that fact that you were considering doing such a thing out of spite doesn't strike you as a bit psychotic? Uh, no? Why must every action we do have to be linked with some [cabbage] pychilogical condition? To remove something from the face of this earth, you destroy it. Are you lacking the Logic Sydrome? Yes, I'm entirely sure she was a wicked, evil person who deserves all the punishment you can possibly wreck upon her. I'm not in any position to judge (hell, I don't know her in the least), but I can definitely say that the world isn't so black and white. Perhaps she had wronged your family, but as another human being (and one without any support, apparently), she deserves some token respect, at least. I'm sure there's more to the story than you've presented, but even if there's not, no one should be treated with such hostility. To be honest, the animosity you're exuding is fairly leaping off the page at me; everything about your original post practically screams "EXTREME" Too bad: in cases like these where life depencies are involved it IS black in white. At the threat of losing your income (which you need to survive) I don't think people would stop and think about the moral rightness/wrongness and the grayness of the situation. The [bleep] was threatening their assests in the most unfair way possible. Go all out. How is that not the same thing? Either way, you had no intention of giving it up from the start, even if you had to resort to arson (illegal and generally linked to psychopathy, fyi) Logic sydrome again? God damnit.)in the end. Look, I can appreciate that such a long trial must have been taxing; undoubtably, it must have been a very trying time for you all. However, is winning simply not enough? It seems to me that your family wanted not only to win, but to also ensure that the woman lost terribly. Is it truly necessary to kick the loser while they're down? Sure, it probably cost your family quite a bit to fund the fight in court, but she had to bear the same burden (albeit alone, mind you, and without the benefit of winning at the conclusion). You won and she lost, so can you not just let the issue go at that? Welcome to justice. No matter how much amends she can give, it won't be enough for family. So, punishment must rise until it meets. It might lead to problems later, yes. But you [bleep]ing fought for what you had and sometimes you have to defend it later in life. "than that woman ever could have" ? Were you NOT reading the situation? She was about to gain the assets of 5 familes because she [bleep]ed a old man. To the contrary, SHE would of caused the most damage. Serves her right for what happened. Why is pursuing justice such a bad thing? Thought it was one of the US Consitution's prime duties...

Justice System Fails
Are justice and revenge really two different things? Aren't they basically the same? Why do we have trials and courts? Why do we find people guilty? What purpose does that do? It won't restart life to before the crime: it won't bring back the dead, it won't bring back your trashed stolen car. What actual purpose is there? To "correct" them and bring them back into society? I laugh. Most of the people laugh. People are like children. Parents who use strong and swift punishments injects fear into the child; fear of doing a wrong-doing. Adults would fall under the same thing. Why do you stop at a red light when no one's looking? Why do you double-think about beating the annoying kid at school? Because of the possible punishment. If "justice" is correcting a criminal so he can be a productive worker of society, then that is NOT justice. That is rehabilitation. Last I understood, courts were supposed to bring justice not rehabilitation. It is hard to understand this way of thinking until something injust had happened close to you. Stupid laws about murdering a murder shouldn't bother an innocent, yet, it does. Why is that so? Authority trying to control society but do so in the wrong direction. Horribly in the wrong direction. Most conflicts can be solved amongst ourselves: by the people who experienced it. Not by a judge or 12 random people who are hearing biased sides of the conflict.

Is It Really That Cold?
And do you all expect Mobile-Exxon, Shell, and the other oil companies to go bankrupt after oil runs out? They're not being runned by idiots you know. Once oil runs out, WOOSH, Chevron magically has hydro-powar!!!

Stealing is moral?
Is there a limit? Anyone who makes more than $200,000 in their life time will have to pay 100% tax. Well yeah of course.
-
So a friend's birthday is coming up soon.
Gifts are cash reminds me of bribery. So, not a really good gift in my opinion.

Stealing is moral?
I prefer the Progressive Income Tax. Your first 10,000 dollars are taxed at 15% Your next 10,000 dollars are taxed at 20% etc, etc.
-
Stealing is moral?
What? I believe equal opportunity also implies that those who take advantage of it should receive the benefits from it, not suffer from more taxes because of it. Instead everyone should have the same taxes, since that would be part of "equal opportunity". Read and understand the rest of the post?

I'm going to have to go with #5. I like the voice talent. Although camel dung (#4) is a pretty brilliant idea.

Remember, you guys aren't adults. Teenagers can't just buy expensive-[wagon] gifts for each other. Buy her a 20-30 dollar gift of something she likes...a cute teddy bear, I don't know. But an iTouch? Jesus*. *$1 dollar Bible might be good :P

Stealing is moral?
I voted for the Green Party over here in Canada and my grass isn't any more greener than it was before. That doesn't mean I automatically support the other side.. This analogy doesn't make sense....you probably vote for the green party because you want them to make changes. They can't, since they aren't in power. But you did vote for them because you support the changes they want to make - so it would be unreasonable to complain about the changes they make once they make them. I think he was referring to Zaaps' post. He said you agree to pay taxes when you vote for a party that supports it, and then Infamous gave an example in which he 'agreed' to something and didn't get it. Atleast, that's how I see it. Which is true. Just because I voted for the Communist Party and they lost, doesn't mean I agree with the Capitalist Party.

Stealing is moral?
Yeah, throwing money at the problem doesn't mean it'll fix it. Having effective teachers and staff will.

Stealing is moral?
Lots of mis-informed posts in this thread...lots of them... First of all, for the original topic, by moral standards it is stealing. I'm pretty sure EVERYBODY would agree (keep reading). But it is a necessary evil. The hate we have on taxes isn't the theory of taxation, it's how our government is using it; their effectiveness. Right now, the United States government spends 25-30% of our taxes on National Defense where as 5% goes to Education. I think testing 10 million dollar bombs, giving aid to Warlords, and protecting nations that to the average American person doesn't care is pointless to our children's education. Government is horribly inefficient and will always be because profit is the only motivation to become effective and the public doesn't want to personally pay these guy's salaries. So until we figure out a more "profitable, motivated" government, it's gonna be inefficient. And also, government regulations are needed in the private sector. Railroads, when first made, were divided up by the different companies. You had to switch through 4-5 different trains from New York to San Fransisco, making transportation for passengers and companies expensive. Roads today would be a pain too; how would your house drive ways be connected? Would road companies make alliances with housing companies? Then you had to pay at your driveway and probably every mile or something. Taxing the rich seems like the best logical choice, but unfortunately this would make them upset and probably move someplace else as everybody else has said. But the reason why people become rich and maintain being rich, is due to investing. Most of their income are within investments of some sorts. If the government takes away the majority of their money as taxes, they're not motivated to invest and investing drives innovation and technology forward. So we shouldn't judge the rich for their money, but how much they're willing to give the poorer a chance. Nothing I hate more is rich people who actively squish the common man. Give everybody equal opportunity and we're good. It took me a while to write this I forgot the other stuff I wanted to talk about...oh well, I'll post some stuff later as the thread grows.

Ahh, the Age of Empires 2 one... I hate it that they changed the starting music in the expansion though. The vanilla was so much better!

Had dinner over at a fellow Argentine couple's house and played with their kids (4th grader with Grand Theft Auto, can you believe that? XD). And I also may of gotten an oppotunity at a job being the ticket boy at the NASCAR races near-by. Only happen every so often a year but it sure would be killer to make some money. I just hope my neighbor can successfully talk with the guy into buying me.
