  2. Communism didn't exist during this time. Their beef was with the monarchy, and their "divine right" to rule. That's the point. Communism, monarchy, whatever, the point of this country is to provide the pursuit of happiness. How are we supposed to do that if we can't afford to pay for our illness?
  3. Not to be an [wagon]...but did you really just ask why god would be "protected" in America? Yes, I did. You can have characters shout "Jesus Christ!" and other stuff like that that would be considered "blasphemous", but you can't say that one thing in particular? It's for the Jewish. Saying God is considered blasphemous (instead you see them type "G-d." With the above mentioned profanity being more heinous than the F word could ever be. That's why. <3% of the World's population are Jewish, yet they still keep a loud voice.

Torture (i.e. beating, burning waterboarding) is illegal in the US and England I guess as well. I've said before, in the U.S., they wouldn't get life or the death penalty. They'd get nice big sentences, probably die of old age in prison or the like, but in US law what they did is 1st degree murder, maybe with some other technicality piggy backed onto it. Assuming a US court (I know it's not...) it'd be around 30-35 apiece or more. If there was a ringleader, life or death for him and then less for the others. They've all got life sentences, but have rediculously short minimum sentences. About water boarding: It's illegal in the US, but that doesn't stop the CIA, does it? 12 years is ridiculously short for one twisted murder? I think it's short but not wildy and crazy out there. As for the second thing, I'm okay with torture if they're terrorists who pose a large threat to our country. You've been going on about human rights, but now your saying its ok to infringe them? Lul wot? Terrorists are okay to torture but not American citizens? Is it that? Or is it muslims are ok to hurt but not white men? -- Anyway, about the "It's not justice its vengeance" thing, isn't the court system revenge? If a person was murdered, most people would say lock the son of a [bleep] up for life. They're not interested in their recovery; since they took the victim's. It's common human knowledge a punishment is necessary to both punish the criminal, and warn others not to do it in the future. They don't care for the criminal, and so why should the government? Human rights are there to provide happiness. If somebody takes this happiness from another person, why should they deserve happiness? The rest Zierro said it pretty well.

I don't know about you, but I hear about gang-related crimes all the time. Like what? What crimes? Where do you live where you hear about gang-related crimes all the time and do you mean by all the time? Every other day? Once a week? Every other month? How do you hear about them? I'm asking for details because anyone can say I hear about them all the time. There are many places where gang related crimes are happening every day. I was in Fresno for the last week and in every nightly news cast something about gangs would come up, whether it would be a shooting, a drug bust, or even a report on gangs in general. Even in some parts of Los Angeles you can't go a day without hearing about gang activity. Even the weather? j/k. I've been waiting for someone to mention Los Angeles just because South L.A. is notorious for its gangs. South LA, East LA, Orange, Pomona, San Bernadino, Riverside... its not *just* "South LA", gangs can be found all throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Same goes for other major cities I'm sure.
  7. I just found out one of my teachers is a lesbian. Never woulda guessed neither. So not all gays are out-of-the-norm-attention-seekers.
  8. Even Nickolodeon's laying down some things...I was watching George Lopez and a GI Joe commerical came up. In the song it said "American Bad[wagon]". On Nick. Wow. Stretch that. They've changed it. Now you only near "American Bad-".

That's THE idea. It's called human compassion. You know? We should care for other humans? And yet the guilty ones don't get rights? Damn, I need to stop posting here... I said before, the guilty are not to be recognized as humans with rights. Innocent and guilty. "That's THE idea. It's called the innocent human compassion. You know? We should care for other innocent humans like ourselves (hopefully you are...)?"

Coming from the person who is describing gang violence like we should hide inside and lock our doors. Gangs do not attack the police. They have not seized land from the United States. The way you are making gangs out to me is like our government has no control over these people. Gang violence is an issue but not to the extent that most of you are making it out to be. Most gangs people are going to find are gangs that'll have more bark then bite. Some gangs DO attack the police. Not all of them, mostly the bigger and serious ones. But they do. And I would assume if you claim land to your territory, it's against some sort of American law. "I'll just claim Texas and my gang will control it!". Of course, real gangs are on a much smaller scale, but it could give us another reason to stop them. And guess what, we DON'T have control them. Gang members can walk by police stations and not get arrested, since they hadn't done a crime. That's what we're trying to change.

It's evil to kill a child but everyone wants to let people out of Guantanamo who as terrorists may have conspired to kill THOUSANDS. I said guilty. The thing with Guantanamo is that we haven't verified it. Once verified then do what you wish with them. :D

Just because "an eye for an eye" justice came from the old Jewish religion, doesn't mean I follow their rules. You see, there's this line, dividing crime/evil and not. If you are willing to cross it, ignoring alternatives, and willingly cross it, you're guilty. And the guilty should not get our rights. So giving them another chance at life when they took away another's, really does not seem fair.
  14. And I'm pretty sure the founding fathers would of wanted the BEST for the country, no matter how "communist" it may seem.

What a bunch of sheltered little kids we have in these forums! Street gangs are just people with "different viewpoints"? They're criminals for Christ's sake! And, by technical standards, rebels against the United States of America if they claim land and attack police officers. Gangs are so big because its easy to get one and it's easy to BE one. Chill out all day, get money by mugging some poor sob or selling drugs, and make through life without contributing anything at all to society. Does that seem right to you? Even though I haven't been affected by gangs because I live in a pretty good area, I can recognize gangs as one of the major threats in this country, much more than Al Queda terrorists even. Just because they hadn't affected you, doesn't mean they're not a threat or people with "different viewpoints." Oh, and the Nazi/Holocaust/Hitler arguments, although no matter no relevant, are really getting OLD.

What for? We've seen it fail over and over again, and besides, the justice system isn't justice, it's just a (lame) system. You're highlighting isolated cases. Think of the thousands of trials where justice has been served... ...a slap on the wrist. Justice right there. Yeah, because 12 years in prison = slap on the wrist -.- Compared to murder and torture, yeah it really is.

Carpet bombing? What the [bleep] are you smoking? Innocent people live in their neighborhoods too. You're the perfect example: would you like planes bombing your house because gangs lived nearby? Seriously!?
  19. Giordano replied to Guy's topic in Off-Topic
Well, after that brutal triple murder, the guy would get the death sentence. Seriously people. You sound like little kids. Maybe have a teensy bit of faith in our justice system, yes, that's the one, that one that millions and millions of men have given their lives for over the years. (By "ours" I mean America's) What for? We've seen it fail over and over again, and besides, the justice system isn't justice, it's just a (lame) system.

Unfortunately so, but I'll take that risk.

Some groups should be illegal to join. Our freedom is limited: an American cannot join Al Queda nor make death threats against government officials. And I agree, all known members of certain groups, gangs, should get arrested and/or shot.

  23. I don't know about that, they've recorded several of the early "Panics" as they were known, like the Panic of 1837. I don't think they were major, either. Maybe, I don't really remember. That's how far they're gonna go. "The Panic of 2008." It's funny, when this thing first started I wondered this same question. Will they call it "The September Panic" or "The October Panic"? But ironically, it's still going on in August of the next year... -.- About the Bush thing, yeah he won't be remembered as a horrible president. They almost never do. If Watergate never was found out, Nixon would of been known as a decent president.
  24. What did I say that sounded [developmentally delayed]? No not you Zierro, the other guy. You're not a [developmentally delayed]. :D You said you were for the legalization of abortion and the other guy said "OMGWTFBBQ y u wantz illegalz?" 10 times. :?
